"TAKE A STAND AND STAND UP FOR YOURSELF." So many Americans today are just letting kids pick on them. If every school had an organization that would help kids like me learn how to take a stand without violence we would have a safer place to live without fear. So many kids today are resorting to violence as the answer to all their problems. As I walk around the halls I see so many people being bullied and I always try to help because what if it was me in that situation, I would want someone to take a stand and help me out when I can't take a stand myself. We need more schools to be aware of bullying. It's not a joke did you know in Tennessee alone there's 1,017 suicide deaths at a rate of 15.7 per 100,000 people in the year of 2015. So many
Police, teachers, principals, state senators, and many others claim it’s not bullying that causes these mind numbing numbers of suicides and school shootings. They truly believe it is mental illness, depression, anger, and PTSD that causes the overwhelming number of suicides and shootings. What they fail to comprehend is that those are side effects as a result of being bullied.
It is up to everyone to be aware of kids who are getting bullied in order to stop it. If students at school held the example that bullying is not at all cool it would reduce greatly considering many of them copy their friends. As it is obvious many of the kids who commit suicide are so young more help should be sent out to them in order for them to escape the torment. Being that suicide happens more with younger kids that is why I feel like what we are doing now to stop bullying is not enough because many still have to do with it. If bullies saw the serious punishments it came with they would surely stop. All the kids need is someone there for them guiding them and telling them they are worth living. Some have no one in their life they can count on so giving them that love and caring would boost their
What if you were terrified to go to your school every day? 160,000 students miss school everyday because they get bullied and are scared of what will happen (“Bullying Statistics”). Bullying has been a major problem in schools for too long. Students should not be scared to go to a place that is supposed to be safe and where they can express themselves. Students that bully never get the punishment they deserve which causes them to continue to act. When you go to school, you should know that if you are getting treated in a horrific way, the people who were treating you that way will get punished. Students who bully should be suspended from school.
Why is it that we do not take action until tragedy strikes? A school should be one of the safest environments for a child or young adult to be in. Schools should be working harder to inforce bully free zones. Bullies are what causes students to feel that they need to take out all their anger on others, and sometimes those results are catastrophic.
Monos informs us readers about school bullying. “Six Illinois Middle School student gathered to watch a child being beaten to the ground.” Why just stand there and do nothing that is the question when you could be helping someone that really need your help. If you were the one being bullied you would want someone to help you. I feel the kids that are just standing there watching are scared to do something about it because they think they will end up being bullied the rest of there school life. Maybe does that just watch are being threatened not to speak and they are just scared. Me as a parent will show my kids that if someone need their help to help them. I will teach my kid to respect so the could get respect not to be scared or to speak up or to help other. “The crowd that gathered to watch the crime did nothing to stop or slow violence. In fact, they cheered for more.” It is sad to know that now a day people prefer watching people get beat up and no one does anything about it. I could garanteded you the only way they will do something about it or take action is if it was a family
The “Stand your ground” decree has quite a few consequences. For instance the homicide rate continues to rise, there is no justice for the deceased, shooters stand justified, and often depart unpunished, and citizens are buying new guns. In addition, this law remains unconstitutional, and will influence the nation in a destructive way. These laws aren’t in the best interest of both parties in the situations. The deceased suffers no rights to be heard. The killer goes unpunished. Who has the best results in these circumstances? Shouldn’t the laws of America have the welfare of all its’ citizen in the forefront. Eventually the “stand your ground” laws should be reformed, since the minority clearly benefit from the law and the minority
Did you know that about 77% of the United states population have admitted to being bullied physically, mentally, verbally, and cyberly. When you read this you might think that this is terrible and why is it such a high number. Mrs. Mohr and her English decided to do something that could make a difference well in our school at least. Our job was to provide visual presentation showing what the problem is and/or the problem you want to resolve. Like my project consisted of three pictures showing teenagers teaching teenagers how to do things in sports and in school work, we all need to get along and work as a team to get certain things done the way they’re suppose to. We soon filled up the whole hallway next to the Visa MPR. This project helped me grow as a student and as a global citizen because we are not only trying to make a change by showing people pictures and telling people how it should be done we are trying to prove to people that some actions hurt people and you dont even know it and its wrong. I say this because when I was in middle school I was bullied because I was overweight and it would hurt when the other kids would be like get out of the way I can't see, this happened all three years of my junior high and I say this because now since I’ve been bullied I know what it is like so when I see students getting bullied I do what is best of my ability to help
Individuals do not intervene when they see injustice, and, as a result, the bullies keep taunting. According to dosomething.org, 90 percent of teens who have seen bullying say they ignored it. Also, 80 percent of kids say they have been taunted or bullied in school at some point in their life. In fact, five out of six people who see an injustice will walk by and do nothing proving that people rarely protect their own kind. Bullying, in various forms, is the most substantial issue in society. Consequently, an incorrect example is set and most likely followed, thus, the act of protection is
Have you ever wondered why the bully bullies? 8 of you said you were bullied and 5 of you were bullies. Well, believe it or not the bully needs the same help than the bullied. They are in different sides of the problem but still they both have a problem. We can’t forget that we are talking about kids, about human beings.
If everyone does their part, bullying will become a thing of the past. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and equality. “All men are created equal.” This is a quote from George Washington, the United State’s first president. It means we are all the same in worth. No one is above or below someone else. No one should be harassed, no one should be neglected, and no one should be alone. Treat others the way you want to be
One story of a kid named Mark who got physically hurt because he had trouble talking shows how we need to stop bullies from hurting us. Bullies know how to hurt other nice kids who do nothing wrong. One out of ten kids who dropout
Having seen many different types of violence occur right in front of my very eyes, I can say one thing for sure, and that is ninety nine percent of all the violence that happens in school is caused by the feeling of a power surge that happens when someone is below you. Think about it! The ninety nine percent I just talked about can be broken down into two categories of violence: bullying and fights. For instance, take two guys/gals that have some serious beef with each other. Once they have reached their limit, everyone has a choice, to walk away or to fight, and sadly, majority take the latter. They feel their anger bubble in their chest, and then, before you know it, those feelings that have been compressed and ignored for so long all rush out in a flurry of fists. Your caveman instincts take over, not caring about the consequences you would soon face. Punch after punch, slur after slur, you don’t stop until they are down, you are down, or you are forced apart. Now, after seeing how a fight occurs (most of the time), let’s analyze it, in order to see how we can stop it. If we, as middle school students, could just learn to talk out our feelings, or spill out about what’s up with our lives and what problems we have, I know that we could form a better society. One way of achieving this far off dream would be to sow the seeds so that they can sprout. What I mean by this is that our parenting should play a role in what violence we commit. If parents are able to coax their children, and make it a normal for them to talk about their feelings, then I swear that half of
Today there have been several devastating acts of school shootings that traumatizes the minds of staff and student . One of the examples of an bullied victim retaliation is of the kids from the Columbine shooting, where two kids who were bullied went on a murderous shooting rampage killing the lives of many at their schools and taking their own. Things like the Columbine shooting makes students afraid and scared to go to school. Schools today need to become a safe environment for students not a place of fear. There shouldn’t be one child in the United States to be afraid to go to school. Today Teachers, Principles, need to develop a plan to minimize the bullying and let students know they are safe and should not be in any type of fear when they cross through the doors of the school

If someone bullies you, why not stand up? There needs to be more fights after and during school. The more that people stand up, the more fights that will probably end up
