Abortion is murder and morally wrong. Abortion is a woman’s choice, not anybody else’s. These are the two most prominent arguments made when the topic of abortion is brought up. The debate over abortion has been going on for decades, and still, has years of debate to come. Although pro-life supporters make good points in the fact that abortion is against many religious beliefs and is morally wrong, I believe abortion should remain legalized because it should always be a woman’s choice and not everybody has the same belief system as others may have. On one hand, pro-life supporters are those individuals and groups that believe abortion is wrong and should be banned. Many of these people are against abortion because it is against their …show more content…
Aside from the rights a child should be granted, a family could be granted a new baby through the adoption process, even if the biological family doesn’t want the child. Although “over 99% of all pregnancies are the result of sexual relations in which both partners have willingly participated,” there are cases of rape and pro-life supporters believe the baby has the same right to life as any child born by mutually loving parents and should be given to adoption agencies (Thompson). People who are against abortions are not always only concerned about the life of the unborn child, but some are also concerned about the life of the mother. Based off studies, women are likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, but also have an increased risk of getting breast cancer. “If the mother ends her normal pregnancy with an induced abortion, her breasts will have already started to enlarge and grow by increasing the numbers of Type 1 and 2 lobules that developed in her breasts during puberty, leaving her breast with more sites for cancers to initiate” (Lanfranchi). On top of that, Lanfranchi spoke on risks during the procedure; “If the cervix is damaged during forced dilatation during an abortion, the situation becomes a vicious cycle in which induced abortion is a cause of prematurity, and prematurity more than doubles
Pro-life supporters believe that human life starts from fertilization or implantation until natural death. From the view of a pro-life advocate and action that destroys an embryo or fetus kills a person, any purposeful destruction of a human life is considered ethically and/or morally wrong. Some advocates of pro-life even oppose abortion of a fetus that would almost certainly die a short time after birth. The pro-life movement is
Abortion has been one of the most popular and argumentative topics that has still yet to be settled. Ultimately the question we can ask when trying to solve this issue is whether or not pregnant women should have the right to kill an unborn baby. Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth takes place and is a moral wrong. Can we as a society call ourselves human if we allow the deaths of unborn babies to take place? Those who take the side of pro-choice or as also known as pro-abortion often use statements concerning life, humanity, human rights and freedom to support their claims. I believe abortion should be illegal because we as a society must protect the human lives that are in danger whether or not they are in their first
When it comes to abortion, everyone has a slightly different view. Whether one believes that no one, or everyone, should be allowed to get an abortion, the same question comes into play: Is abortion ethical? In addition, when does a human life actually start? Without concrete facts, we can only do so much with those questions, which is why this is such a controversial topic. We need to consider all the facts and information available. For example, whether or not a fetus feels pain, how old the fetus is, and what condition the pregnant woman is in. The main argument comes down to pro-life versus pro-choice. After doing extensive research, I have come to agree with the side of pro-choice, meaning that
Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. Many people believe it is 100% wrong and even consider it to be murder. The definition of abortion is; “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth.” These pro-life believers do not support the idea of abortion and believe it should be illegal. Many of these supporters do not know that if abortion were illegal they would still be performed, unfortunately by an uneducated staff. Over 70 thousand maternal deaths occur every year because of unsafe abortions. These women die, so the idea of supporting pro-life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro-choice.
Abortion has become a serious topic in American culture today. If you were to ask someone on their street whether they were Pro-Life or Pro-Choice odds are they would know exactly what you were talking about and then be able to give a clear statement of their opinion on the matter. This issue has provoked many strong opinions in people around the country, so much so that the act of abortion has been petitioned to become an illegal procedure. There are many reasons to support abortion along with hate it, but when it all comes down to it the real issue is not in regards to science but rather to morals. Abortion is morally wrong and should be illegal.
Abortion has been a controversial argument for many years and it has been largely debated by those who are pro-life and others who are pro-choice. They argue if women should have the right to abort their unborn child. Those who are Pro-life argue that a fetus is a human being that deserves the right to live and all human life is sacred including an unborn human regardless of how it was conceived. Individuals who are Pro-choice believe women have the right to be in control of their bodies and make decisions regarding if their baby should be aborted or not. It is important that women do have the right to make decisions about their own bodies and if they want to have a child or not. Abortions are right because it is not murder, it is safe, legal,
Abortion has been a controversial argument for years and continues to be. Many tend to argue the ethics surrounding abortion. Although some may say no one has a right to determine the value of human life, the reality is that abortion should remain legal because a woman has the right to decide what is right for her and the fetus.
There are many controversial topics in our day and age, anything from from the color of a dress to a child choosing their own gender can and will be argued. With so many touchy subjects, we are bound to stumble across topics that go against our faith that the community around us may choose to support. This can split families and friendships, so it is necessary to have an understanding on what these topics entail. One of the most pressing subject is abortion, and whether it should be legal or not. While this subject can be argued from many different viewpoints, I will do my best to provide a thorough explanation that will leave you understanding why abortion is murder.
Abortion has been a huge issue for many years, not only in the United States but worldwide. It makes up for more than 70,000 maternal deaths (Terzo). Women who define abortion as a procedure that simply rids a woman’s body of a glob of cells, do not understand the truth: the so-called glob of cells has a heartbeat, nervous system, and brain, and can feel pain. Therefore, the procedure of abortion is nothing less than murder.
“There are nearly 1.2 million abortions performed in the United States each year” (Operation Rescue, 2014). That was 1.2 million innocent lives that were ended before they even had a chance to begin. Abortion has been legal for decades now, and it is time to put a stop to all the murdering of unborn children. This senseless killing of an unborn child needs to be recognized for what it truly is, and that is legalized murder. Abortions should be made illegal in the United States because it is taking the life of an innocent person, there are other options out there and lastly abortions are not only harming the unborn child but also cause harm to the mother.
There are many risks to the health of women who have had an abortion. Considerable amounts of women have had breast cancer in this generation, about one in eight. According to research done by having an abortion increases a woman’s chance of having breast cancer by thirty percent (Coolridge). According to the studies, because of the hormones during a pregnancy a woman’s body develops more cells in her breast to breast feed. Having an abortion gives the cells a longer time to become cancerous. Though some sites
What is murder? Murder is the killing of another person without justification or valid excuse… The taking of an innocent’s life. We are taught our whole lives that murder is wrong and it is punished with prison or even death for the murderer’s themselves. The taking of an innocent life is what abortion does. “So is it murder?”, We ask ourselves. Should abortion be punished as murder? Should it be legalized and made a common thing that one day young girls will think it’s okay for them to just end the life of an innocent. Yes, abortion is murder it ends the life of an innocent person that has not had a chance to show what amazing things he/she is capable of accomplishing in life.
Abortion can be one of the most sensitive issues in the world. Many people constantly debate about whether abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think that abortion is very cruel and that it should be banned forever. The people that think this believe that abortion is murder and is like killing a human being. Others feel that it’s not wrong because they feel its not murder until the child is born. I think it depends on which stage the baby is in to be consider a murder case. The earliest stage then I believe that it should not be labeled as murder. The latest stage when it is a larger fetus then that is most definitely murder.
The Ethics Of Abortion is a very controversial subject that has been continually argued over for the past few years and probably many more years to come. The main controversy is should abortion remain legalized? Before we get into the many sides of abortion we must first define abortion. Abortion is the destruction of the fetus or unborn child while the child is still in the mother’s womb. This can be done by almost anyone from the mother herself to back alley abortions and even to abortions by clinics set up especially for this purpose. There are two sides to this abortion topic, the PRO-LIFE, which is those who are against abortion altogether and the PRO- CHOICE or those who believe it is the woman’s right to
Pro- supporters might say that an abortion is murder. Randy Hultgren, a US house representative, stated in an article that 55 million unborn kids have lost their lives. He said that if people believe in abortions then they might as well think that they are disposable (Hultgren Randy). People might come to a conclusion that this is murder because a lot of innocent human beings are being killed. Pro-life supporters believe that an unborn child should have the rights as their mother, while pro-choice supporters feel that women should be able to do what they want with their body.
