It’s no doubt that our world today is full of unsolved, contentious and controversial issues. Most of them relate to morals, religions or ethics thus create many strong opinions in “yes” and “no” or “good” and “bad” sides. Abortion is one of those sensitive issues. There are numerous proponents and opponents of abortions in the US. Proponents of abortion believe that unwanted pregnancies can be very stressful for women and they should have the right to make decisions about their bodies. However, abortion is seriously wrong because killing a fetus is killing a person. And obviously, death is the end of life for the fetus when the fetus should have the right to have a life just like ours.

Just because they are small and unseen does not mean they are not a human being. In 1982, Ronald Reagan stated “Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is. And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” In 1821, Connecticut was the first state outlaw abortion after learning signs of movement of fetus in a woman’s body.
Second, abortion is not only harmful to the baby but also the women themselves as well. Abortion can cause women not being able to get pregnant again in the future or cause many disease, sickness and even death. Abortion is also a reason of increasing number of people suicide. According to a study of women in Finland, woman who had abortions were 3.7-6.5 times more likely to commit suicide within a year after that.
The most important why abortion should be abolished is there are many other safer solutions. Adoption is a better choice. There are many variations possible for adoption. In California, there is no question asked for a baby drop off at fire stations or hospitals. Parents who choose adoption as a solution can even picking the parents for the child, and they can keep in touch with the child all through their life.
