Pro-choice is for female activists and their beliefs on women taking control of their own body and making their own decisions. The other side of the debate in abortion is pro-life, which is defined as murder, killing an innocent baby which has no say. It has been reported that anti-abortionists relate having an abortion to murdering someone. They believe that a murder is intentional and so is an abortion because you are planning to abort the baby (Currie, 2000,103). Results have shown that people who advocate for Pro-Life primarily are Christian or Catholic members because of the Bible. In the Bible, it does not say directly that abortion is not permitted it makes references to make it clear that God felt very strong about the fact that a fetus or embryo is still considered a human. It suggests that God creates the baby's life well its in the womb and it also says that the same penalty should be giving to someone who causes the death of the child in the womb as to someone who commits murder (Frechet, 2009). As you can see there is two very strong definitive sides to the debate of abortion, both having strong arguments. History Abortion has been known since the ancient times. Women in all cultures have used it as a method of birth control, regardless of whether the culture officially permitted it. Over many centuries women wishing to terminate a pregnancy have drunken poisonous liquids, rubbed certain herbs on their stomachs, or even attempted to pierce
Abortion is one of the most complex debates in a lot of societies. In the same way as euthanasia or the death penalty, it is located at the border of life and death. Everyone has an opinion and a passionate advocate either for or against this subject. Based on a repot, around 53% people are pro abortion and 47% people are cons. Around half of American women who have an unintended pregnancy resort to abortion.
Abortion is not murder, and can be life -saving. The statement, “ Human life begins at conception,” is actually an opinion. There is no specific consensus as to when human life begins. Sperm and egg also are alive and represent potential human beings but are virtually wasted. Abortion may be considered pretty natural, considering two- thirds of human conception are virtually aborted by nature itself. Abortions have been pre formed for thousands of years, all over the world not just in the US. In the mid, 1800’s states began passing abortion laws to make them illegal. In turn started the creation of “ Back alley Abortion.” In the years before Roe v. Wade was illegal. Abortions ranged as high as 1.2 million per year. Several women died in the process of self- inducing their abortion, because they were untrained.
The topic of aborting an innocent fetus has been overwhelmingly controversial in the United States. The two sides to this ongoing debate is pro-life advocates and pro-choice advocates. Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus; whether it is an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. Abortions are most often performed during the first twenty-eight weeks of pregnancy and can be performed as a medical or surgical procedure. Medical abortions include two types of abortion pills; while the surgical procedures include vacuum aspiration and dilation and evacuation. Ultimately, I am one of the many “pro-lifers”, and I strongly agree that abortion should be illegal because it negatively affects our people. Women across the nation are becoming impregnated and following a short amount of judgement time, turn to abortion to solve their problems but in the end hurt themselves with this decision. Abortions should be illegal because it is immoral and unconstitutional, causes severe mental and physical issues, and negatively impacts the economy. “During the ancient Roman times it has been supposed that abortion and the destruction of unwanted children was permissible, but as our civilization has aged, it seems that such acts were no longer acceptable by rational human beings, so that in 1948, Canada along with most other nations in the world signed a declaration of the United Nations promising every human being the right to life”
What is abortion? Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy or the ending of pregnancy by removing the fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus.

There is pro-choice and pro-life. Pro-life considers abortion unethical while pro-choice considers it to be ethical. Some reasons why it would be labeled unethical is because one may tie their religion to their ethical standpoint and examine the potential life that a woman is carrying to be pure and destined for greatness. They may argue that by having an abortion, one is taking away from the world a potential Ghandi or scientist that may be able to someday create the cure for cancer. They may reason that by having sex, a woman is already obliged to have a child if she becomes pregnant and having an abortion is considered to be running away from responsibility. They may also believe that by having an abortion, one is committing murder. On the other hand, there are people who consider abortion to be ethical because they reason that regardless of the potential life, it is a woman’s body, future, and ultimately, her choice. They may also reason that a woman should not have the weight of feeling the obligation to have a child because it is her decision to mold out her own future and not have roles imposed on her by society. They may also argue that a fetus is not in fact a full human yet; therefore, does not have a conscious and is analogous to a
Have you ever wondered why abortion is such a debated topic. How some politicians use it as a political ploy and others are completely against abortion? Also, if the supreme court says abortion is legal, why have many states added so many restrictions and rules to it. If abortion is legal, why does the government try so hard to make women feel like it isn’t. When did it become ok for the government tell women what and what not to do with our bodies and made our decisions for us? These new abortion restrictions makes it even harder for women to have an abortions, then it already is.
Did you know 80% of women abort their kid if they have down syndrome? Abortion is where they end the baby’s life well it is still in the womb. Abortion has been an issue since the 1960’s and continues to grow today. About 1/4 of pregnancies end in abortion and 1/3 of americans before the age of 45 have gotten an abortion. ( (Guttmacher.) Abortion should be illegal considering the reasons for it, ethics and medical effects.
For recent years, people start to deny abortion and stated it as cruel and murder. While it does involve remove fetus or embryo from the mother and kill the baby before it was born, it might not be the worst thing that can happen to the baby. Most people who chose abortion is either can’t afford to have a kid or unable to take care of them. It was one of the case, while other concern about their right as a person. Some might say the baby have right to live, while others believe the mother have right for herself to do what she want to her body. The debate on abortion is not about who right, but it about the consequences of their action.
This newborn, was not even her husband’s, but the new mother did not have a choice. The man in the ally took everything away from her. She did not have a choice then. She considered taking the little fetus out was going to be so easy, but now sitting here, in this little hospital bed, holding this precious crying bundle of life, it was never her choice to do the same to her baby. To take everything away from her child. But she couldn’t bring herself to do it. She could not take everything from someone who did not even have the voice to say otherwise. Taking the life away from unborn baby is not someone else’s, choice it is theirs.
Pro-life advocates believe that life commences at conception because a human is created with a unique genetic identity. So, they consider abortion as murder. Pro-life patrons also believe that abortion promotes a culture in which human life is disposable. Pope Francis once said, that when we allow abortion, it is creating “the throwaway culture” which is based on his
1. the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy ("Abortion-Dictionary.com ").
Abortion has been practiced for most of human history. The ancient Greeks and Romans practiced it, although not all ancient thinkers had the same views on abortion. Ancient Greek “father of medicine” (Britannica) Hippocrates was against the procedure; in the Hippocratic Oath doctors had to swear, “To not give a woman an abortive remedy.”(University of Virginia) Ancient Greek thinker Aristotle believed that fetuses gained a soul 40 days after conception for male fetuses, and 90 days after conception for female fetuses, a process of which he termed “ensoulment”(BBC) “The Bible” is inexplicably quiet on the issue.(BBC) Jesus said nothing about the practice of abortion neither did the apostles; It is through early Christian writings such as “The Didache” (Ante-Nicene Fathers, Vol. 7.) that abortion was inexplicably condemned by the fledgling Christian Church and in turn all of Christendom.
Historically, most abortions were performed with the assistance of friends, family members, midwives, and or doctors. Self-induced abortions, which had a very low success rate, were attempted through various methods that ranged from applying herbs and ointments to the skin, forceful internal and or external massages, and insertion of foreign objects, to even stomach binding. If all the methods failed, women sometimes resorted to infanticide. Infanticide is the crime of killing a child within a year of its’
Pro-choice vs pro-life (abortion) is a huge moral issue that is still a problem today. There are many sides to whether or not women should have the right to receive an abortion. Abortion is defined as “termination of pregnancy before the fetus is viable” (CITATION). Many women face problems where abortion is the right choice for them, but still feel obligated to have the child. For example, if they’re in an abusive relationship: she should not have the child in fear of him/her growing up with nothing but abuse in the household. (S)he will most likely grow up to have anxiety and depression. Abortion is an issue that needs to be fixed. Women should have the right to do what she wants with her own
