Library and information managers have always complied files of information, in the form of catalogues and lists of borrowers. Early computer-based systems in many businesses held master files, typically containing data relating to payroll, sales, purchase and inventory. Such application comprises of related or similarly formatted records external database may be access through the online services or acquires on CD-ROM. (The electronic library, Jennifer Rowley) Library System software was devised to computerized a sort of library operations, including materials check-in, cataloging, circulation, purchasing, and the online catalog (also known in the trade as an online public access catalog or OPAC) .The process of converting this functions to a computerized medium is referred to as library automation. This conversion movement opened up a software market aimed at libraries, permitting the purchase of the individual modules or of all the modules combined in to a suite, referred to as integrated library system (ILS) software. The advantage of opting for an ILS product is that installation command and routines are standardized throughout

The cruise industry has undergone a number of significant changes from the days of tropical vacations and the days of transoceanic transportation, when the cruising services were only available to the domain of the elites in the society (Murphy, 2016). Today, the cruising industry has grown to a modern multimillion leisure and tourism industry, which provides an affordable option of vacation and a level of comfort, which is difficult to match for the average citizen (Chang, Park, Liu, & Roh, 2016). In addition, the number of people who cruise has been experiencing a significant increment over the years across the world.
Abstract-The Library management system is the application software that is developed to make a record of Book purchasing, book searching, book issuing and rent, book returned, catalogs, stock creation, all other fine books, popular and bestsellers and other Library related works. The aim of the project is to make the manual handling of Library system into computerized system which includes all above features. The scope of this software application is to generate the automatic process of manual handling of Library records and to handle the stock as well as book issues related information. Maintaining records of application for estates, the annual system is too complex & cumbersome. Since time and resources available we have been proposed to developed an inventory system
This is an automated operation. The computer system described here is an example of a legacy system that employs the sequential file structure for its accounting records. Both tapes and disks can be used as the physical storage medium for such system. However the use of tapes has declined considerably in recent years. Most organizations that still use sequential files store them on disks that are permanently connected it the computer system and require no human intervention.
Generally Institutions are mature and different systems are employed by the libraries to manage their resources in an efficient manner but still many libraries remain unconvinced and show reluctance to employ and switch over to new systems. Library management refers to the issues involved in managing the resources available in library such as classification of material, book processing, Journals.
Libraries are the first place for all the individuals who are as students, working professionals depending upon their roles. When considering the types of libraries there are of four types which got segregated based on their functionality.
Foremost, the researchers would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Lord and savior Jesus Christ, who made this thing possible, to him to be glory and honor.
Special thanks for my second supervisor Prof. Kamal Debnath for his support, reviews and discussions during this research.

The term Library automation connotes the use of automatic data processing machines to perform routine library activities. It implies a high degree of mechanization of various routine and repetitive tasks & operations and processes are left to be performed by human beings. Simply Library Automation is the application of computers and utilization of computer based products and services in the performance of different operations and functions or in the provision of various services and output products. In addition to computer advancement, telecommunication and audio-visual technologies gave a way to new possibilities in information processing and
I would like to thank and appreciate the comments and suggestions given to me by Ms. Vatsala Verma for her excellent supervision and encouraging discussions that helped us in having a greater in-look into the project.
The library houses the document by considering the long-term perpetuation of the items while still allowing the end user to access the material easily. But all library collections experience damage from use and decay from aging. So there is a need of perpetuation and maintenance of library materials. Libraries have always been places where information resources were collected, organized and perpetuated for the use of future generations. However, application of computers has drastically changed the work culture of libraries. Now in the changing environment, the volume of information rapidly increasing and users’
The library system also interfaces with an external relational database which stores information about the library users (students, faculty, and staff), including whether they have any library items checked out. . Library users can access the catalog and recall books and periodicals. Library employees have the same access as well as additional capabilities (e.g., listing the status of an item). (Note: the library catalog is part of the library computer system.)
