A young teenager accused of a violent crime should be tried / sentenced as a adult. Trying teenagers as adults would convince teens that if they commit adult crimes they will receive adult time l. Being tried as an adult is the best thing for a teenager who is making poor decisions , so if committing a violent crime they’re responsible for their actions and the crime they committed. Many individuals that are old enough to commit a crime also are old enough to know that committing a crime is wrong and if caught will be punished. Many teenagers take advantage of many situations because they think they won’t get caught, but if they are caught they know they will be let off the hook because their age. The sooner you teach a child about accountability
There is no doubt that the economy and rights given to people is much different than what it was in the 1790s. While we have gained many privileges for the general public, we also made our economy focused on growth as well as being strong and mixed. Alexander Hamilton would be happier about the current American Society because our economy promotes trade, national banking, and manufacturing, while continuing to promote a line of privilege in our educational system.
Ever since I joined Key Club my sophomore year of high school, I realized that it was not only a club that sparked my interest, but a way of life dedicated to serving those around you. Key Club broadens one’s view and perspective of community service. I remember and know of people that talk about community service as a sort of requirement, which would look well on a college application. Although true, Key Club allows one to realize the significance and importance of serving communities. Enhanced by dedicated and committed members, James Taylor High School Key Club has been a crucial aspect in my realization of the true meaning of community service, as I’m sure has been to many others. Key Club has taught me numerous skills and ideas that will
When it comes to trying teens in court as adults some say stop trying them as adults and try them as juveniles, others say they must be tried as adults when they commit adult crimes or harmful, heinous crimes. Many people do not think there is such thing as an “Adult Crime.” A Crime is a crime no matter who it is committed by teens or children should be held accountable for their actions and tried as adults. If I knew
Teenagers should not be tried as adults. Due to the lack of cognitive development, outcome of going to a prison, and the vindictiveness of taking someone’s life away. Unless a legal no one should be tried as an adult. It is unjust to push someone - that is in no sense an adult other than their physical features - through a system that is for
Should juveniles be tried as adults? There are many conflicts to this question. Many people say no and others say yes. Today many juveniles that commit serious crimes do get tried as adults. Violent crimes are committed in the United States every day. Almost one-half of them are committed by teenagers ages 13 through 17. In 2015 there were seven thousand juveniles that were tried as an adult. I do believe that juveniles should be tried as adults because anyone who commits a serious crime should be punished, the boy has the capacity to understand what they are doing, and these young adults are old enough to take responsibility for their actions.
I believe juveniles should be tried as an adult if the crime they have committed was serious. On the other hand I don’t believe juveniles should be tried as adults if the crime was somewhat minor. In my opinion there is two sides to trying juveniles as adults. Young teens sometimes are not as mature to handle the consequences as adults. Other young teens are just as mature as an adult.
Should Juveniles be Tried as Adults? Violent crimes are committed in the United States everyday. Almost one-half of them are committed by teenagers ages 13 through 17 ("End of Line" 484). After the crimes have been committed and the lives of these children have been radically changed, society often demands that those who commit violent crimes be tried as adults, rather than as adolescents. Juveniles should be given light sentences and a second chance to return to the streets. Trying these teens as adults unjust and unfair, there other alternatives that our society can turn to, to help make our communities better places to live. We need to realize that children are our future, and we
Violent juveniles should be considered as adult criminals. Many violent juveniles commit heinous crimes, but only given small sentences or probation. During the probation period, violent juveniles still commit similar crimes because they never realize the consequences of their actions. Juveniles should be treated as adult criminals because many of them are repeated offenders. If you let a problem continue on, it only seems to get worst. With many of these juveniles when they do not learn from the first crime they commit they move on to more serious crimes.
For years may people have debated whether or not juveniles should be tried as adults for serious crimes. The juvenile justice system was established in the year 1899(Long). Laws were first created to handle small cases such as truancy, shoplifting, and vandalism (Estudillo). Since 1993, at least 43 states have passed laws making it easier for children to be tried as adults (Estudillo). Juveniles should be tried as adults because by the time they’re about 12 they know that murder is wrong, if they’re grown up enough to kill someone then they’re old enough for adult consequences, and a lot of kids see the juvenile justice system as a way to get away with crime.
Teens should be tried as adults because they are mature enough to be responsible for their actions. Most, and if not all adolescents know that “homie-cide” is not right. If they are not tried as adults, they will think that committing crimes are just a part of life, and continue until somebody finally beats some sense into them, that, “Hey man, this ain’t right!” Likewise, teens today don't fear the law, since teenagers do not think they will get caught. Teens are old enough to be responsible for their
In America there are numerous killers that have shocked the nation, but one killer in particular had the world completely dumbfounded. It was the ‘Craigslist Killer’ who would have many people asking questions and wondering why a soon to be graduate from medical school would commit such evil acts. With graduation right around the corner and wedding plans to make with his fiancé, he seemed to have the world at his feet. So who is the ‘Craigslist Killer’?
There has been much talk to whether or not juveniles should be convicted as adults for violent crimes. Juveniles should be convicted as adults for violent crimes because they are old enough and know right from wrong, have a trial by jury and a crime is a crime no matter the age.
Crimes are most associated with adults. Murder is especially most associated with adults. When a teenager commits such a crime such as murder they must be tried, and they should not be treated with leniency and coddling, but with the full force of the law as an adult.
Teenagers should be charged like an adult because if they get out the easy way then they won't learn from their mistakes. If they won't get charged like an adult then they will keep doing crimes because they know they will only be there for weeks. The teenagers need to learn and they do because they
“A child is not a man”. In the case of teenagers being tried and sentenced as adults the verdict is that they should because if they commit a violent crime such as murder, rape and treason they should be tried as an adult only if the person who has done the crime had no intention to do it or it happened as an accident.
