During the observation process what surprised me the most was that there was a pretty reasonable age gap among the people that were playing. Before I start observing I would have assumed that people of the same age group would be playing among their age group. The young guys would play with others around their age group for the mere reason that they can relate to each other since there is more in common with each other than with someone that is a lot older. Another thing was that there was very few if any girls play basketball. The environment that I observed is one that I knew well or at least I believed so since it’s an area that I routinely see. Taking the time to see the environment closely rather than just a glance really opens you to
Step 4. Any score falling near or into the shaded area requires further attention or assessment.
In the late adulthood stage of life there are several aspects that do not have as much of an impact on the individual as when they age. My mom and dad are in their late adulthood stage of life, well actually entering it, as my mom is 62 and my dad is going to be 65 in Oct. My father has been retired for about 5 years, and if you ask him, he did not retire! He was forced out of his company. You see my father made a very nice salary at his position given his age and experience he was able to work his way up the corporate ladder and obtain a position very high in the company. When the economy crashed in 2008, companies were looking for any reason they could to cut costs but keep production effective. One of the easiest ways to do this was to take
As a young adult, I don’t always think of how I will mentally and physically change when I reach middle adulthood. I often think about what goals I have set for myself and a more immediate future for my family. Middle adulthood begins at age 40 and ends at age 65 (“Santrock” 2015). This particular stage of life has positive and negative changes that occur within the biological, psychological, and social forces.
Aging is a biological process by gradual deterioration of the physiological functions and metabolic processes. (Hilaire Bakala et al 2012) Exposure to stressful situations during early life can have intense health consequences and is impaired throughout life. However some cases of this impact do not become evident until much later in life or decades later, when the individuals begin to show signs of accelerated ageing. (Katherine A. et al 2014). While understanding the relationship between early life and longevity has important implications in the field of aging, we have still little information about the mechanisms involved in the prolonged times scales of stress-aging. A stress can stimulate various pathways leading to increased production of the reactive oxygen species (ROS) it is well known that are highly reactive and capable of damaged many biological macro molecules such as DNA, RNA, Proteins, and Lipids (Govinda Rao 1989; Tian et al 1998). The accumulation of oxidative damaged molecules may cause genetic mutation and cellular senescence (Tian et al 1998). Several data indicates that mitochondria are mostly affected organelles during aging.
As illustrated in the following pie chart, “Toronto, Ontario-Total Population by Age Groups (Both Male and Female)”, our two primary age groups, consisting of the 15-24 age group, as well as the 25-44 age group, have an extremely large combined population, reaching 2,367,620 people, which is 43% of the total population.
There are many differences among different groups of people as well as many individuals, whether it may be the language they speak, religion or sexual orientation or even education. Diversity is having a group of people that have many kinds of backgrounds. When we think diversity a lot of people think it is based on race, but it is not just based on race it is based on many other things. When it comes to diversity it has more of a global representation breaking it down to age, gender, ethnicity, and background. Age diversity has a lot of positive advantages for a healthy organization, as well as other sorts of diversity within a workplace or life in general. Needing to treat people fairly despite what age an individual may be is important when
Divorces are fairly common, but rarely pretty and always thought to be implausible — at least that’s what many newly-wedded couples say. If marriage is the lifelong union of two partners, then why are divorces incredibly frequent and commonplace? There are a wide multitude of reasons supported with evidence that attempt to explain the rationale behind high divorce rates. The divorce rate in this case is defined as the percentage likelihood that a given marriage ends in divorce. Some such reasons include, but are not limited to: excessive arguing, financial problems, and infidelity. However, there is one such reason that
Growing up is the hardest thing to do. No one can tell you how to do it, and it sucks if your childhood never prepared you for it. Well, if you had an overly indulgent and happy-go-lucky one then you'll never be prepared for the harsh realities of the real world. I think about it a lot and I just wonder to myself sometimes...how does a 9 year-old transform/grow into an 11 year-old? Think about it. How is that with every second, every minute, every day and every year that we are changing? Now let's not state that obvious; we all change physically every time. Of course I understand that everything is flux as so famously said by one greek philosopher which I can't remember right now from taking my AP European History class (I didn't pay attention,
Watching your child grow up can be exciting, rewarding, challenging, and let’s face it…downright terrifying. As they enter their teen years, there are so many decisions they need to make and as a parent you desperately want them to make healthy ones!
Growing up watching my parents struggle with financial difficulties was a hard pain to endure. As long as I can remember, my parents have fought to make ends meet. Seeing this made me realize that is not how I want to live my life in the future. I want to go to college and further my education so that I can live a better life. Because of my family's struggles, I have broken the black and white perspective at such a young age. I realized that life is moving so much faster than we perceive it to, and it is not going to stop and wait if we fall behind. In the future, I want to be successful enough to give my family everything they could not have while I was growing up and give back to the community that nursed me. This has influenced the way
When I was younger I use to spin a globe around, close my eyes and point somewhere among the vast globe. When I opened my eyes I would say; “This is where I’m going to live.” Whether it was Japan, England, France, or even where I live now, I would say that sentence every time. A lot of kids do this when they are younger just to have fun. But today I realize that by doing so, it shows kids the endless possibilities of what the world has to offer. People say that kids don’t understand what’s going on, when really they do. Brains are strange in that way. Everyone has their own opinion on what a situation could turn out being from just one tweek. People may say it could lead to absolute chaos, while others take the approach of it being a sterling
There is no significant difference in mean age among the three study groups. The mean age of patients in Group A is 26, Group B is 26, and Group C is 25. So it can be concluded that the three study groups are homogenous in terms of age. (Graph: 1)
Working in the healthcare field, one would come into contact with all ages of individuals and if you 're lucky you could specialize in just one, like geriatrics. Learning about each age group is very important because you have to know what is considered normal findings and what is considered abnormal when dealing with a person 's health. And of course, each age groups would have different norms.
My family had expected me to become a leader and follow their footsteps as I got older. As the oldest child there was always a sense of duty that was put onto to me from a very young age.
Students are trying to score the basketball to get par or under par which helps keep students aware of the quality of their shot to do better. They want to achieve quality because they want to have a low score at the very end to win. They are learning an activity that they can use with friends to help them stay active. There were some students who loved the game and I could tell that they will definitely be playing this activity again. There were times where students were not aware of their surroundings because they were trying to hurry up before the next group moved on to their hole. There were some students who helped students retrieve the ball which did make it go faster.
