This is just one of the amazing quotes that lead Ronald Raegan to be known as the “Great Communicator.” Marilyn Brayton stated, “Ronald Raegan was known as one of the most popular, and best presidents we have ever had in our country!” He was known for being very strong willed, and fought to achieve “peace through strength” (The White House, “Ronald Raegan”), and he did just that! Ronald Raegan was born on February 6, 1911 in Tampico, Illinois (The White House, “Ronald Raegan”). He was the son of Nelle and John Reagan (Baker, 19). He was like any other American boy. He attended high school in Dixon, Illinois (The White House, “Ronald Raegan”). Once, he graduated high school, he went on to study, economics and sociology, at Eureka College (The White House, “Ronald Raegan”). Besides studying at college, Raegan, was a football player, and loved to be in theatre. This is where his career as an actor began to succeed! In 1937, Raegan took a screen test and it caused him to win a career in Hollywood (The White House, “Ronald Raegan”). Raegan was in his twenties when he became an actor. Some movies and films he starred in were, Bedtime for Bonzo, Knute Rockne, and Dark Victory. These are just some of the movies he played in. All together Raegan was in 53 different films
