I believe that NJHS (National Junior Honors Society) is a very good program that will help to challenge me in school and in my community. It will help me pursue academic excellence as well as advancing my service learning by requiring me to complete service hours.
In the world we live in,more and more people seem to cherish the value of success and respect. It can be from the littlest things we come across everyday. You can finally be able to understand a concept for a subject in school in which you have been struggling with in the past,or you may have the guts to wear an accessory you have never put on.These are signs of not only accomplishments but of a dedication to do something you were prone to do and to watch achieve. Another term to being successful,is Leadership.Such a strong word for a strived meaning.Taking a lead for something and showing that you are able to communicate with an honest compassionate manner. When you think of yourself as being a person with an admirable character, you most
The National Honors Junior Society is one of the nation's prime organizations established to acknowledge outstanding middle school students. In order to be eligible to be a part of this society, students must exhibit certain achievements in different areas. Students must demonstrate excellence in areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. The purpose of this prestigious organization is to provide a strong foundation for building leadership skills through service to the school and the surrounding community. I should be a part of this society because I believe I posses great leadership, scholarship, character, citizenship, and service qualities.
The Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity provided a voice and a dream for African Americans around the world. For people who were colored at the time this fraternity was created, had to struggle in their everyday life because racism was such a huge focus. Alpha Phi Alpha was founded at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York by seven outstanding African American men who attended college there. They created a strong bond and brotherhood in the organization and were an inspiration to colored people all over the nation. The seven founders were known as “Jewels” at the fraternity. These seven men were Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones, George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle, and Vertner Woodson Tandy. They were all very intelligent and brave men, a lot of people looked up to them. The fraternity was created and based on colored people who were racially prejudiced socially and educationally. There was one man who caught my eye and found very
National Junior Honor Society will be a great opportunity for me. If I am accepted into NJHS I plan on keeping up my 4.0 average, balancing between school and outside of school activities, continuing to help my community/peers, and creating a specific idea to make a positive impact at the school. The next 3 paragraphs I will be stating why I will be a great member of NJHS, why it's good to help people, and something I could do to positively impact my school.
am very proud to be a part of. The honor of being chosen (elected?) as its
In order to maintain a membership in the National Honor Society, each individual must follow these principles and guidelines provided by the Belgrade High School National Honor Society. Consequently, in not doing so you will be removed from NHS.
As the leader of the criminal justice honor society at ASU, I have created partnerships with volunteer organizations such as the 100 Club of AZ, and have continued partnerships with Free Arts of Arizona, the Rearley Foundation, and Release the Fear. As the leader of the school organization, I have been able to engage in volunteer actives that have raised awareness about abused children and families in need. I have also implemented a provisional membership program within our organization to promote academic successes with freshman through mentorships, counseling, and tutoring. I have contributed an average of 20 hours per week to the honor society. I have also created a mentorship program with the Mesa Police Department that allows students to engage with the department to prepare them for career opportunities. I have set up events at ASU with the ASU Police Department, Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and Maricopa County Office of Public Defender to bring more resources to students. I have a high belief in doing the very best you can. I have seen many students who think they are unable to be as successful as other and I have attempted to mentor those students to help them understand their full potential. I personally never thought I would ever attend a university or pass classes with a high GPA. However, I have learned that we are only limited by ourselves, and all of us are capable of
Throughout my high school years, I gave myself many opportunities and challenges to demonstrate my worth as a leader. Of all these positions, the one I take pride in the most would be taking the lead role of directing a non-profit ACT organization. Together with my classmate, we had founded the organization to which I took charge of after he left to attend college. During my role as president of the ACT organization, my responsibilities included tutoring, finding teachers, organizing sign ups, as well as procuring space to hold classes.
The National Junior Honor Society and I possess a common vision. I, like the members of this Honor Society strive to make Stinson an all around friendlier environment and spread positivity school wide. I believe I would live up to be an outstanding member of NJHS because, I am exceptionally responsible, and will have an opportunity to express ways to help further our school’s reputation.
Members of the National Honors Society have always been revered for the work they do in our community. In a small town like Fenton, volunteer work has a larger, more personal impact. It would be a privilege to have the opportunity to contribute to the community as an NHS member. An individual with an extensive amount of volunteering develops a multitude of valuable traits. One important element to portray when representing a community service group is selflessness. When helping a town, a person must have the ability to put the needs of others ahead of their own. Possessing the capability of performing actions without hesitation is among the valuable traits volunteers should be comprised of. The person being attended to requires
As I worked my way through middle school, I would have never imagined that I would be as involved as I am today. From academic clubs like Science Olympiad and Robotics to service clubs like National Honor Society, Student Council and Key Club, my involvement in extracurriculars has been a positive challenge in a variety of ways. Key club in particular has pushed me to improve my community, expand my social life and prepare me for my future after high school.
A lot of people choose to look at the challenges in their lives that they have faced and explain how they have overcome them. I am choosing to instead look at the successful times in my life and share what they have been, because I look forward to adding to this list, hopefully while I am attending Muskingum University. At the end of my Sophomore year, I was accepted into the Cosmetology program at C-TEC of Licking County, and this was just the start of a successful pathway. Towards the end of my Junior year, I was chosen to be apart of National Honor Society (which I stupidly rejected, a mistake that will never be made again) and continued to be on Honor Roll and Merit Roll throughout the years. I was also the outstanding Junior Cosmetology
I have always been someone that craves new knowledge and always works harder when a challenge is put in front of me. My dream to become a theatre artist, and hopefully a director, stemmed from working on production staffs in high school and realizing that creating a production is what I wanted to do. That reading and analyzing scripts, working with multiple creative teams and departments, organizing and discussing every little detail of a production is what I wanted to be doing. As theatre artist it is a necessity to constantly be looking for and learning new information even if it doesn’t seem important to your field. This is what really drew me to the honors program. Through the honors program I would be able to find new information that
I perceive that you get many essays that all sound the same about why the people of St.Josephs want to be apart of the honor society. But in this essay I would like to tell you the truth I would like to change the consensus. The meaning of a Honor Society is group of students that have one thing in common good grades. But what is the definition of good grades, this is in the discretion of the college not the students. Every student learns differently. Every student has a different situation. Yet we are all equal to one type of standards. Yet a 3.5 GPA is the definition of high academic achievement. But I understand that these are the standards of our society. I just feel Society should see individual achievements, and not look at others achievements
