American History Future

As we study American history we see that the saying, 'History repeats itself' reveals much truth. As we look closer at the American Revolution and the American Civil War, we can find many similarities between the two. Another saying that is made known is that 'We learn from our mistakes,'; but even the greatest men and women of our history did not follow. The main causes for both wars were the fight for liberty. If we are to analyze this issue in both wars, we see that the conclusion of one war leads to the beginning of another. As Semisonic sings, 'Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end.';

The American Civil War was unavoidable. Because of regional and political disputes the country would have continued to boil even if the extremists on both sides were kept under control. No matter what was done politically a conflict was necessary to eradicate slavery from this continent.

The Civil War was the second most brutal war in the history of the great country of the United States. The Civil War started in December 1860 after president Abraham Lincoln had run for president. The Confederates believed that the new president would change the Federal view on slavery. John Crittenden had made a proposal to divide the United States at the 36° longitude line, and the North of the line would be slavery free and the South would be anything goes. The Confederates thought this proposal was unfair, and they reacted a little bit. But the question is, ‘Could the Civil War have been avoided?’ The answer is no. Edmund Burke once said “Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it.” Unfortunately, it seems that many people who have impacted the world have had a bad history teacher, as history continues to repeat itself to this day. One of the most prime examples of this is seen in the Middle East; where the Palestinian people are fighting against the Israelis over territory in which they both believe belongs to them. It has been a dispute which has resulted in loss of homes, loss of life and loss of money. However, this is nothing new. Americas history is what defines us and who we are as a country. We were built on hard work, sacrifice, wanting to be free and independent to be who we want to. Now a-days, we seem to have fallen away from this. Everything is given to us so easily on our computer and through technology that we have no need to work hard anymore. This is the downfall in humanity because as we keep going, life will continue to get easier and we won’t want to do anything. History is our hope so that we can learn from what we did in our past and how things were done then.For starters, we can see what mistakes we did and make sure we don’t do them again. If we continue to the same thing over and over again, there’s no way for our society to improve from this. Our

620,000 American men tragically lost their lives fighting against themselves. The Union won the four year long war after many long and deadly battles. There were points in the war when the Union could have ended it, but they failed to do so. If the Union wouldn’t have won the Civil War then life today would be totally different. Nobody knows if the south would have survived as a lonely country, or how many more wars would have occured.

War, Slavery, Sexism, and Lack of freedom, these were the issues America has faced that put our country through an uproar. Present day America has been through several trials and tribulations in the past to get to the peaceful state it is today. Throughout the course of time America has been hit with unfortunate periods of feuds with countries near and far, determining how little freedom you have based on your gender or race, and in most cases having the government dictate what happens in your life. Despite our hardships, America took baby steps to improve its country. These little and small changes brought us on the journey to turn America into the powerful nation it is now. American history gave us hope for the future.

America’s actions that took place in the past have significantly affected how it is shaped today. Cities all over America have been torn apart by our past and now it’s all catching up to us now. It’s only a matter of time before our actions become too much to handle.

When Americans first set their eyes on the 20th century, they hoped for a better life without war and a prospering economy. This vision of freedom and liberty in America was quite bold, knowing there were challenges ahead. There’s always a price to pay and obstacles to go through when the circumstances are not ideal. During the early 1900s, our country was evolving and starting a new era. An era where blacks were no longer slaves, civil rights movements were occurring, and citizens were having issues with the law. It was a moment in time that helped us understand why these events occurred. From those events, wars, and movements, we can learn and improve from any flaws we may encounter. As a nation, we will be better prepared and aware of these scenarios because we reflect on our country’s past.

The Civil War was a disgrace of angered men who wanted land and money, and a symbol of pride for what we received after fighting for. Hundreds of thousands of men fought bravely in war, and most of those lives were lost. Strategies were created to end the war quickly and generals were trusted to bring them back a win. However, the causes of the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, and the Industrial Revolution, and the Missouri Compromise all caused a great divide between the North and the South, leading to the Civil War.

One of the reasons for my argument or opinions is that when the South side found out or got into the argument they took it to far and started a war. The Civil War was pretty much pointless and very cruel. In my opinion the Civil War was a very sad thing that should never be in America’s history. I also think that it was a great sacrifice for America’s heroes. If none of them would have sacrificed their lives for America then it might not have been like it is today.

In 1861, a horrific war began. Nobody had any idea that this war would become the deadliest war in American history. It wasn’t a regular war, it was a civil war opposing the Union in the North and the Confederate States in the South.. The Civil War cost many people’s lives on the battlefield and beyond. In addition it cost an extreme amount of money for the nation which possibly could have been avoided if the war had turned to happen a little differently.

The Civil War was one of the events that changed the course of American history forever. It tore the nation apart causing Americans to fight against each other, pitting brothers and friends alike against one another. The war was the bloodiest every to happen in American history. There are many possible reasons on why the Confederacy lost the Civil War to the Union. There were the differences of the economies between the North and the South, the Union’s blockade of Confederate ports, their military man power and leadership, and the government and its leadership.
