November 8, 2016, the day that will change America for the next four years. On this day, citizen will elect the next president of the United States of America. It is very critical that the American citizens go to vote. The last thing America needs is a president with the wrong intentions. In the past, America has had some interesting presidents. There has been a long list of presidents involved in scandals and scornful affairs. The latest presidential election is coming very soon and you must be prepared. So many rumors and derogatory articles have been floating through social media about each candidate. The one question I want to know is, whom will you choose?
There are a total of six candidates currently running for president. Out of those

and Iran relations, economic recovery, and immigration. Terrorism is a major issue in the United States of America; many countries do not admire America at all. America has been at war with countries like: Mexico, Spain, Germany, Vietnam, Italy, and several more. The Islamic State (IS,) is a jihadist group that caused international attention when they seized large territories in Syria and Iraq. They are known for brutality, abductions, and gruesome beheadings. For over sixty years, the United States and Iran have had tricky relations. The United States is concerned about Iran's nuclear program, sponsorship of terrorism, and human rights records. Although America does assist Iran with some of their needs, America is very cautious of their …show more content…
Although the dialogue is decent, I think that there are a few issues that should be brought up in these debates. The top three topics I believe should be brought up are the Zika Virus, racism, and gun control. The Zika virus has spread from South America to the U.S. and it is very hazardous. The virus causes birth defects and deformities of the child of a pregnant woman. All it takes is a simple bite from a zika mosquito. I would like to hear the candidates talk more about what they are going to do to help prevent the risk of the Zika Virus spreading across America. Another topic I would like to hear the candidates talk about is racism. Racism has always been in America. With the recent continuous killings of African American males, I am curious to know the candidates opinion, and if they have any plans on trying to reduce the amount of killings. What America needs is a president who cares for all races and shows their care in their actions. The last topic I think the candidates should discuss is gun control. Since 2000, there has been over twenty mass shootings in America. This number must decrease. I want to hear the candidates talk about gun control and who they believe are qualified to carry guns. The truth of the matter is, how can America stand united when we have people in our own country killing innocent lives for no reason at
The 1980 presidential election of the United States featured three primary candidates, Republican Ronald Reagan, Democrat Jimmy Carter and liberal Republican John Anderson. Ronald Reagan was the governor of California before he decided to run for the presidency. John Anderson was a representative in Illinois and Carter was the incumbent. The lengthy Iran hostage crisis sharpened public opinions by the beginning of the election season. In the 1970s, the United States were experiencing a straining episode of low economic growth, high price increases and interest rates and an irregular energy crisis. The sense of discomfort in both domestic and foreign affairs in the nation were heading downward, this added to the downward spiral that was already going on. Between Carter, Anderson and Reagan, the general election campaign of the 1980s seemed more concerned with shadowboxing around political issues rather than a serious discussion of the issues that concerned voters.
Assess the extent to which incumbents have an adage over challengers in congressional elections. (25marks)
How would you feel if your vote essentially counted for nothing in a general election, especially if that election was for President of the United States? Well it appears to be that way with the way electors are the number one most important group of voters in any presidential election. In America, a national popular vote would clearly prevent problems such as fraud in the Electoral College. In our Nation’s history, there have been countless stories of backroom deals and fraudulent voting. Thereis a long and colorful history of botched elections and ignorance of the people’s choices in and for the highest elected official in our country. The Electoral College of United states is in dire need of reform. The people of our great nation need a say in the system that makes us the most American. Our right to pick our representatives. There is no excuse for the massive amount of mistakes that are made election after election. As a nation, the people must take action to change the system.
There were only a few months remaining before the 50th quadrennial presidential election was set to take place. Primary presidential candidates such as Ronald Reagan were gearing up to make their final appearance before decision day; America had its eyes on the 1984 Republican National Convention held in Dallas, Texas. Simultaneously, protesters gathered to express their disagreement with administration policies held by Reagan who was now running for his second full term. Under these circumstances, an individual by the name of Gregory Lee Johnson expressed his disagreement by means of dramatically burning the American Flag outside of the ongoing Republican National Convention. Consequently, Johnson was charged for violating Texas state law
So far, this has been one of the most craziest elections that America has seen. There are four candidates that are running for the United States president. The most popular candidates are Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump. The other two candidates are Libertarian gary Johnson and Green Party's Jill Stein. So far, Hillary Clinton is leading the Election with 46%, Donald Trump with 41%, and Gary Johnson with 5%. America should vote for Hillary Clinton because she deserves the position better than Donald Trump.
After 8 years of having Obama as president it is now time to vote for the new leader of our country. We have two very strong candidates who are continuously trying to amuse the hearts of millions of Americans with the goal of obtaining their votes in this year’s presidential election. Our first candidate is a woman named Hillary Clinton who is,” a current democrat, former United States secretary of state, U.S senator from New York, and first lady.” (The 2016 Presidential Candidate’s Political Stances." ISideWith. N.p., n.d. Web. 18 Nov. 2016) We also have the option of voting for Donald Trump “a republican who is a real estate developer, television personnel, and author.” (The 2016 Presidential Candidate’s Political Stances." The 2012 presidential election was fundamentally different than the presidential election of 2004. In 2004, George W Bush defeated John Kerry with 62,028,719 votes, which was essentially 50.8 percent of the ballots cast. In 2004 the issue that was of most concern for Americans was terrorism. Furthermore, the attacks on September 11th 2001 served in bringing the country together to help secure the win for Bush. The polling data shows that 52 percent of the people believed that Bush would do a better job dealing with terrorism and homeland security, versus 29 percent for Kerry. Voters seemed to prefer Bush in dealing with problems in Iraq, 50 to 37 and furthermore, on moral issues, by 47 to 29. Kerry was ahead 48 to 32 on jobs and unemployment and by a fairly wide margin of 51 to 28 on health care. When comparing how people voted, Kerry had the majority of
There are many differences between the presidential and congressional elections. The requirements differ from both presidential and congressional elections. To run for congress one must be at least 25 years old and must have been at least a US citizens for at least seven years, and sometimes convicted felons have been able to successfully run for congress and some have won a seat. On the other hand, to run for president one must be at least 35 years old, must be a natural born citizen, and have been residing in the United States for 14 years to run for president. In addition, the congressional elections are the lesser known or televised by the media and are more local than the presidential elections. As a result of being more local and
The president elections are a time where many Americans vote for their favorite candidate, however the upcoming 2016 presidential nomination has gotten controversial. Presidents have been nominated due to their views on policies such as Abraham Lincoln on slavery. However, a lot has been discussed about who’s going to be the elected president this following November, will it be Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton. Hilary Clinton, former secretary of state, has shown persistence since 2008 election, decided to run for office, by hopefully, being the first women president. Donald Trump is a wealthy business man, the C.E.O of the Trump Corporations, has made several controversial statements, such as building the wall between Mexico and the United States and exporting all Muslims out of America. Both have been criticized for their views on what they would do as president. Donald Trump has been targeted as being chauvinist for making racial slurs towards minorities, and Hilary Clinton had a recent scandal in using a private server for communication rather than the official government email provided. However, despite the accusations of Clinton, it may seem she will be the only one fit for the job, since having prior government experience will help her in important. Not only is Clinton the best qualified choice in the 2016 election, but she will also provide the United States with respect and dignity that citizens deserve.
In today’s society it is noticed that in the most recent presidential elections, specifically the upcoming election in November, there are candidates that uphold little to no political experience. Some examples of candidates like this would be Donald Trump, a businessman who can carry out negotiations well regarding the economy however, his views can be seen as extremely conservative and violent towards other races and sexes, and Ben Carson, a neurosurgeon who is well educated and is able to speak clearly to the American public but is currently dropping in the polls. Also current President Barack Obama had actually began running for president after only being a new senator in Illinois for quite a short period of time, four years to be exact.
This year’s Presidential Election is one of the closest races in history. The 2016 U.S. Presidential election is Trump Vs. Clinton and this year’s election is more interesting than ever before, with promises as well as history being made! Today, I will be telling a few of their issue stances. By the end of my essay, I hope you can decide which candidate you would like to vote for!
Presidential elections have and continue to be a time where Americans begin to pay attention to politics a little more in depth, they look into the issues which burden America, and then decide which candidate, in their views would fix and continue to grow the policies and programs which are working to America’s advantage. Presidential elections have and will continue to grow and change, but the past three presidential elections have seen many changes and have been very different just in the course of 12 years. Although a lot has changed there are some major things that have dramatically changed just from election to election such as, campaign strategy and spending, “battleground states” or states which could vote for either candidate, the
With much of the country upset over the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States, protests have erupted around the country to protest the election. The protests have also turned against the Republican and Democratic party because of the numerous scandals that have rocked both parties. As a member of congress, you are assigned to the newly formed Election Review Committee. Your task is to write a 750 word critical review that objectively analyzes the presidential election process and present your conclusions to the rest of congress based upon that review.
This November I get to exercise my constitutional right to vote in the presidential election for the first time. This opportunity is something that I have looked forward to for a very long time. I’ve developed a rather heavy interest in politics over the past year or so, and have been actively following the race to the presidency between Clinton and Trump. But despite my interest in politics, I have been rather quiet on Facebook about my political beliefs and my feelings on this election. While this is in part due to my lack of desire to post my political beliefs for the web, it is mostly because this election, I 'm doing something that would shock my younger self; I am voting for Clinton.
Being an informed voter, I would like to talk about the issues facing our nation as well as offer a comparison of the current candidates for President, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. I will also outline the issues facing the United States which I find important and give a brief comparison between the candidates and who I agree with.
