Equal Pay In Presidential Elections

On November 8th, 2016, the United States will finally have its presidential election for the 45th President of the United States of America. This election will be a grating race between a number of political parties and their respective nominees. Two parties are more notable than the others, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. The Democratic Party has a well-known nominee; Hillary Clinton, who has served as secretary of state, and has been the senator of New York, she has also been the first lady of the U.S while her husband, former president Bill Clinton was in office (Hillary For America). Mrs. Hillary Clinton is mainly a candidate for president because of her experience and great attributes. Alongside Clinton is Mr. Donald J. Trump, who is the respective presidential nominee for the Republican Party. Donald Trump is a well-known billionaire real estate personnel, who rose up to his status due to his great business intellect (Donald Trump Biography). In like matter, there are other nominees for president; however, Trump and Clinton are the two that are most significant and one if not the other will eventually overtake the position as President of the United States. Many people voting in this year's election are wanting someone different, someone who can get their points across. People are wanting someone who says, and will, make a difference in the world. America is filled with many disagreements and issues, especially on security as in NSA Surveillance; they also have issues on terrorists, and how they interrogate and torture them.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two Caucasian Americans in their advanced years that come from wealthy backgrounds, and have a history of dishonorable achievements. These two individuals, on many occasions have shown their true colors and made comments that were down right rude, racist, and discriminating. In the media, we usually hear more crazy remarks coming from Trump than we do Hillary, but these two have more in common than we think. Accusing Donald Trump of being a racist himself, Hillary has made comments that would make you second guess her innocence. Hillary has referred to young black men as “super-predators”, called a campaign manager a “f*cking Jew bastard”, and called people in this country “illegal aliens” (Anderson 2016). Those are just a few of the wild things Mrs. Clinton has been accounted for saying.

November will be approaching soon and will be time to elect our next President. Bernie Sanders is a seventy-four-year-old male running for the Democratic party. Hillary Clinton is the wife of Ex-President Bill Clinton and also running for the Democratic party. Donald Trump is a businessman running for the Republican nomination to be the President of 2016. Ted Cruz is a senator from Texas and a candidate for the Republican nomination. Jill Stein is a physician and activist who is currently running for the Green Party nomination.

On July 4, 1776, our founding fathers gathered in Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to write the Declaration of Independence. This document declared the Thirteen Colonies separate from Great Britain and subsequently lead to founding of the United States of America. Since then, America has had numerous presidential elections, fifty-seven to be precise. As America nears the end of the fifty-eighth presidential election the public are left to vote for either you, business man Donald Trump or Senator Hillary Clinton for president. As a presidential candidate you have gone through you fair shares of struggles, risks, and excruciating work however, only one candidate can be named the president of the United States on November 8, 2016.

This year the presidential elections will take place at the beginning of November, and there are lots of people wondering how this is going to end. Some candidates for these presidential elections may not have been the best choice for their respective parties, but the one that really shouts, “I should not be here” is Mr. Donald Trump. His personality and actions are not the correct ones for a president because of his temper and comments against other cultures. On the other hand, we have Mrs. Clinton who is a more competent candidate; she has more experience on the field of politics than Mr. Trump who has none at all, which are the reasons why she is a better choice as a candidate and as president of the U.S.

To start with let us take a look at the positions of both candidates. Hilary Clinton is a democrat who announced her bid for presidency in an email to donors from her campaign chairman John Podesta on April 12, 2015 which was followed shortly thereafter with an official campaign video titled “Getting Started”. Clinton has served as the secretary of state of the United States of America and as a New York senator. Her stance on the national budget generally leads to an increase in spending and her stance on the second amendment is to increase the amount of control on the buying and selling of firearms. Clinton supports the equality of gay-marriage to “traditional marriage” saying, “I support marriage for lesbian and gay couples. I support it personally and as a matter of policy and law embedded in a broader effort to advance equality and opportunity for LGBT Americans and for all Americans. ”[1] Which differs from Trumps belief that marriage is between a man and

This year’s presidential election has been riddled with controversy and drama. The two presidential nominees, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump, each have questionable acts. As voting time approaches and the debates come to an end many individuals must decide who is fit to run the country. By considering their backgrounds, verifying the validity of their policies, and brining into consideration their performance in the debates, a suitable president should be found.

“One may be making a virtuous decision when choosing the lesser of two evils, but one will still find himself stuck with an evil choice.” Many Americans today find themselves in this predicament when concerning the two possible choices for President of the United States. On one hand you have Hillary Clinton who the Federal Bureau of Investigations labeled “careless” and “grossly negligent” in the handling of America's top secret information. To the contrary you have Donald Trump who has said “he would like to ban all muslims”. Both of these examples merely scratch the surface on the quality of these two candidates. Correspondingly many Americans agree that neither Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton are fit to be President of the United States.

Notably, most Americans are unaware about the issue of unequal pay gap between men and women, and consequently this leads to inequality towards women in the workplace. I strongly stress the controversial issue to enforce and fight inequality of working mothers, color of women, and women have been facing in the workplace with the issue of unequal pay between and how men are viewed as more competent in the workplace.

Donald Trump, a wealthy businessman, and Hillary Clinton, former secretary of state, are the presumptive presidential candidates of their political parties in the current election cycle. Both candidates have faced strong opposition within their own parties, as well as from their opposing parties. They share similar views on making voter registration easier, higher taxes on the wealthy, and keeping God in the public sphere. Although Trump and Clinton have some similar beliefs on how to govern the country, they have very different beliefs on health care reform, immigration reform, and second amendment rights.

Women employees make less than men in the same job position. “It is an absolute scandal that American women continue to earn just $0.77 for every dollar men earn.” (Sen. Mikulski) There should not be a gender pay gap. Workers should be given salaries based on their work ethics, degrees, and academic credentials.

Furthermore, men and women should be getting equal pay for the same job as this will benefit necessities Americans need in their everyday lives. Also, as debated Hillary will make sure workers are protected from exploitation so that they are safe from wage theft and employment misclassification. Being an informed voter, I would like to talk about the issues facing our nation as well as offer a comparison of the current candidates for President, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. I will also outline the issues facing the United States which I find important and give a brief comparison between the candidates and who I agree with.
