The America I believe in is where nobody can take away our God given rights. One where people have respect for our veterans and know and understand what they have been through. One where no dictator or a ruler from another country can come over and run our country. The America we live in has a strong foundation because protection of our freedoms. Our veterans die for our country every day to protect our freedoms from foreign threats. Our America is unlike any other nation in the world with all of our freedoms. We have the freedom of the press, we can say just about anything we want about anyone. We have the freedom to print the truth in newspapers, and not be arrested. America has a situation no other country in the world has.
The way the Americans gained independence may not be as valiant as it seems. The war lacked just war criteria despite many arguments. The idea was foolish and unnecessary and proved the lack of development amongst this young territory. Many factors lead to this premature uprising and the French and Indian War is a great reason for most of those factors. The decision by the American colonists to revolt against British rule was premature and overly aggressive.
The America I believe in is strong. It stands up for what is right no matter what the consequences are. It supports and respects its allies and gives them inspiration. The america I want to live in is free and independent.
The America I believe in is made up of amazing veterans, an educational system, and freedom to make life choices. I feel very lucky to live in America.
“The greatest danger to American freedom is a government that ignores the Constitution.” – Thomas Jefferson. Since the first contact with the Europeans, native peoples in the U.S have been battling with powerful government bodies and have repeatedly lost. Looking back to even before the founding of the Union, native populations have went to war against the progressive, overpowering and belittling nature of the government and have walked away with disease, famine and useless treaties. It is these bitter roots that have affected the native nations in the U.S even today. Battle scars of decades past can still be seen on reservations throughout the United States. This isn’t a game of finders keepers, there needs to be a fair way to allocate
War, poverty, suffering, disease… These are all backdrops of humanity's darkest hours, yet we are strongest when we stand together. When efforts are united for a greater good, when benevolence and generosity override selfishness and fear. America has been a leader in benevolence and altruism, assisting those in times of hardship. The America I believe in is the nation I live in today: an America that runs on munificence which has been shown through humanitarianism and military support on many occasions.
There is one reason why many American love our country and our freedom that comes within our politics way of life. But times are changing as we speak, we use to have freedom in many things, but now we are losing those same freedoms today. Our country was built on our freedom and that is why our “Bill of rights” was written. We have to take back what have been lost in our society, politics, and lifestyle. Without our freedom here in our country, which we call the “land of the free.” We are nothing more than just our neighboring countries that have one dictator “Tyranny”
Everyone has their own version of what the definition of freedom is here in the United States but the basic definition it is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. Under the circumstances of following the laws. As time has gone on it has helped freedom come along way with all the different eras and the ups and the downs that occurred that has shaped us to that “American Dream” of freedom we have today. There are many events that helped shape Americans freedom today and these are just some of the events that really helped push the rights we have today, woman starting to get jobs, slaves getting freed, Native Americans sharing land, segregation, equal rights to all and passing the law for gay marriage.
What do you think of when you hear The United States of America? You might think of our significant economy, or our vast population, but when I think of The USA I think of, land of the free and home of the brave. I believe in an America that protects it’s citizens, helps educate them, but most importantly fights for their freedom, and rights.
The United States of America was founded on the principles of "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness"; all three of these still hold true today, however, "liberty," or freedom, has come to mean something entirely different to most of society. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, freedom is defined as "the power, rooted in reason and will,...to perform deliberate actions on one's own responsibility" (CCC, 1731). All humans, made in the image and likeness of God, intrinsically possess the ability to make choices. This freedom makes everyone responsible for his or her own choices, whether they be good or bad, and grants the greatest ability of all: the ability to love (Pennock 119). Freedom can be defined in terms of internal freedom or external freedom, with specific attention to what limits, or impedes, freedom. Since freedom is a central element of the American ideology, much of the culture, specifically media, often features concepts relating to it.
The America I believe in is built on freedom. Freedoms like religious freedom, the freedom of voting, the freedom of health, the freedom of education, and the freedom of peace, but I don’t have enough time to tell you about each one so I will focus on a couple. The point is everything is based on freedom if we had no freedom we would have nothing.
The “freedom” we have in the United States, isn’t complete, just like everything else, it’s limited. We don’t have forced labor, yet we have minimal wages, which is nearly the same. We are not forced to do certain things, yet we are forced to do others, like pay taxes, for example. The American dream everyone hopes for, is just that, a dream, because the U.S government does anything to impede you from reaching it. They take your money away when they barely give you any. People make merchandise higher when the wages in the area rise. America is greedy for money. Because America gives us crumbs of freedom, we fool ourselves, believing that we are full of freedom.
America is a truly awe-inspiring country that has defied odds and provided people with so many rights that they did not previously have. It has been defeating all limits, from the moment that the American militia beat the British Army, to today, when it is continuing to promise opportunity to anyone who works to meet it. I believe in this America, the one that changes lives for the better. It releases people from the chains of foreign societies that cannot provide for them. It illustrates for everyone that greatness can be reached if everyone works together to fight for it. America is amazing. The people of the United States of America live in a country like no other; a country that won't define who you have to be or who you have to marry or anything else. This is a country that gives the people the right of choice.
Freedom has many applications, all of which can be considered equally important. Many countries are poor, their citizens restricted from the very privileges that we take for granted. In some cases, American prisoners have more freedom than those other countries. Alas, we are beginning to lose our rights. For example, Net Neutrality is something that we are beginning to lose, among other things. Our rights make us free; they separate us from countries such as those in the Middle East. Our democracy gives us our choice, and we need to fight to keep it.
Freedom is an amazing thing in day-to-day life no matter where you go, Imagine the world without freedom? In the 1700’s to the 1900’s America fought for 300 plus years and established freedom. The most effective way to get freedom is to make rules, make sure the people obey the rules, and have the people Government for the people. because without rules you wouldn’t have freedom at all but despite all these laws and rules, the world or even the USA has never one hundred percent had freedom at all.
