An Outstanding Teacher Research Paper

“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” There are so many different quality traits that separate a mediocre teacher from a great teacher. So who’s to decide what those specific traits are? Every student is different when it comes to learning. One may love a certain teacher, and another may not. All teachers have different teaching styles. Looking back at my favorite teachers from high school, I noticed that they all had similar characteristics that made them my favorites. However, they also had their own unique qualities that made them stand out as well. These teachers have not only taught me the required criteria for the class, but in fact made me a better individual. The three teachers, in which have made the biggest impact on my life are: Cassie Applegate, Jason Aker, and Eric Padget.

Outstanding teachers posses the following skills and or attributes: The ability to adapt to any changes that may occur, The cognitive skills to think quickly and logically, The virtue of patience to handle the repeating of information for those students who may not catch on quickly and finally The passion of teaching others to be better learners and the ability to listen and analyze the emotional, physical, and mental state of the students . Truly good educators remember that the image they exude is the example that is set forth for their students. A teacher provides high expectations for the students as well as his or her self to creates a positive atmosphere.

Outstanding teachers are respected by students, faculty and families and are professional when performing all duties and communicating with students, faculty and families. When dealing with families a teacher must be understanding and empathic of students' diagnosis and family life challenges. An outstanding teacher needs to be open-minded to others ideas and theories and to changes. You also need to be consistent to provide stability to your students, as well as know the content that you are teaching. An outstanding teacher has to be able to be organized, patient, ask for help and participate in professional development to learn new techniques to grow and learn and stay up to date with new findings. An outstanding educator needs to encourage students to push themselves, reach their potential, show them that you have confidence in them and give them acceptance to be who they are, inspire students by showing them a love for learning so that they will have a love for learning and being in school and a teacher needs to have drive and passion to make students reach their full potential and putting in extra hours to make sure your students are

Being a teacher doesn’t mean you have to be boring and uneventful. Being a good teacher shows that you know what your students like and make them want to learn. Being like Ms.Murrow would give your students a horrible year. Being Mr.White makes your students look forward to learning. Be a teacher that gets students to look forward to learning,

A fellow educator would hear these answers as examples of the teacher’s ability to engage students in every lesson, her desire for all students to succeed, and her competence in subject matter. Although an outstanding educator exudes many other characteristics, these three qualities are essential for one to be considered an outstanding, high-quality teacher.

What is an effective teacher? Is it a teacher who is caring, compassionate, warming, and personable? Or is it a teacher who is good at planning, works well with other teachers/administrators, and self-disciplined? Many people would say that these qualities and characteristics would make an ideal teacher, and they would be correct. But these qualities alone are not enough to be considered an effective teacher.

It takes hard work and a lot of energy to become an expert in the education world. There are amazing teachers who would do anything for their students, but there are also teacher who are just there to go through the motions. The best teachers are to ones who are passionate about what they are teaching and would go out of their way to see their students succeed.

I believe there are many skills and attributes that are necessary to an outstanding teacher; one’s ability to keep students engaged, the desire to see all students achieve, and knowledge of the content taught are attributes of an outstanding educator.

We as humans are responsible for the categories that we make. In all reality, the titles mean only what we attribute to them. Being in the education field, I've seen the strain that teacher assistants (paraprofessionals) go through when they are working. They are often treated less than important, and certainly compensated less than their counterparts. Teacher assistants are looked at as not being certified, but many of them hold bachelors and some masters in other areas. Because of this status, they aren't even deem important enough to get a full time position, as most of them are part time. Have you ever had that one teacher that you will never forget simply because of how well you learned in their class and how enjoyable it was? I sure did, Mr. Ullyott, Mr. Ullyott was my sophomore year teacher for my Advanced Placement United States History or APUSH. He proved to be an extremely effective teacher throughout his method of instruction, ability to keep students paying attention, and how he cared for each individual student. First off, for a teacher to be effective with their instruction, they need to clear, give good feedback, and allow students to work together and learn from each other. These are important things that I find very important in the classroom as if a teacher is not clear as to why this happens or how this affects

A great teacher is sensitive to their student’s needs. In Junior High, when a teenager enters the phase of being overwhelmed by learning, not just academics, but learning about themselves a great teacher is patient, understanding, and available to talk.. A great teacher shows empathy. Mrs. West is one of these teachers that shows empathy.

To be an outstanding educator you need to possess many important qualities. The qualities I believe are the most important are flexibility, creativity, and passion. The teachers I remember and relate to the most have those qualities. They are the areas that I believe I have strength in and the areas that will benefit my future students.

When I work with teachers, I hear that planning activities for the Teacher station of station-rotation blended learning, is actually the easiest station to plan. This station provides opportunities to conduct the small group direct instruction that can be almost impossible to squeeze into whole-group instruction.

I believe that teaching excellence comes from two different things, dedication and the desire to help others. Teachers who are dedicated to their students and classrooms are definitely going to be excellent and never give up at what they do. Teachers who have a great desire to help their students and their career will continue to do everything they can to make sure their students receive what is needed. The two characteristics that make an excellent teacher are dedication and the desire to help others.

Outstanding teachers know their stuff! They know what they are teaching and how to teach it so that students will understand and be able to use their knowledge in multiple contexts.
