Borre goes on to explain that Facebook provides a strong indication of a person's values, such as whether
In 2012, Congress failed to pass the ban of employers asking employees to disclose Facebook passwords. Due to this hot topic, author and Senior Vice President/Chief Content Officer of Black Enterprise Alfred Edmond Jr. was asked “Should business owners be allowed to ask job applicants for their Facebook passwords?” when he aired on MSNBC’s television show Your Business. Author Alfred Edmond Jr. admits that if he were on a show called Your Career, he would have answered differently to this question. He says that he would

Milkowski, President and CEO of VoIP2.biz, Inc., an Indianapolis-based start-up supplier of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony to the small and midsize business market, knew he had a difficult job ahead of him. While Larry was a firm believer in the direction of the company, he knew that the board was anxious to resolve the future of the firm given the slower-than-hoped-for progress in getting the company’s cash flow to break even.

Perkins also suggests if the applicant can find any open discussion online concerning the company, they should engage in them as the employer will most likely acknowledge that, giving that applicant a little bit of advantage (Perkins). Along with the previous points, Perkins recommends that if the applicant decides to accept the friend requests from their interviewers, recruiters, or employers, try to limit what the employers can see to give the applicants profile a more professional look (Perkins). She once again addresses the importance of actively engaging in the businesses content, being sure to spread the information the applicant may find intriguing or even by putting in their opinion so that the employers can see how interested he or she really is in the company. Lastly, Perkins presents the audience with a survey displaying the percentages of what makes an employer want to hire someone or not to hire them at all. Once again before leaving this article, he authors gives the audience more percentages (Perkins ). “49 % of applicants weren’t hired because of provocative or inappropriate photos while 29% were not hired because of the discriminatory comments regarding race, gender or any other personal information”
On November 9th, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Kelly Miller from the Minneapolis branch of Randstad. Kelly has been a Senior Recruiter there for the past two years and has been in the Human Resources world for eleven years. Kelly’s role of a Senior Recruiter includes developing and managing a group of professionals for U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo, growing/maintaining a network of sources to pursue qualified candidates, and provides training to candidates on resume construction, interview techniques, and other coaching needs. “The conflicting fears and desires of many States and peoples did not create a European war, but they served as a set of multiple fuses waiting to ignite, should war between two States.” (Gilbert 6). World War 1 is a very complex war that had definitely caused many adversities to the world. WWI had begun erupted in the summer of July 1914 to November 1918. I managed to sit down for an interview with Josh Keely, the current Vice President of Product Development at Delta Health Technologies in Altoona PA. One of the first things Josh said to me was “No one owns it like you own it”, and that statement set the tone for the rest of the interview. Josh and his business partner at the time developed an application called “AppointMate”, which is an application to help managers of the private duty health care businesses. He managed to grow from 100 small “mom and pop” customers in 2003 to selling his product to franchises having over 500 offices alone by 2009. He succeeded in by exhibiting qualities that I feel make an excellent entrepreneur, hard work, faith in your product, and pure dumb luck.
In conclusion, many books, movies, cartoons, and more show that unlikely alliances are something that happens everyday. These examples show that friendship is something that isn’t effortless, but the reward for having them by your side is wonderful. We should honor those who show this, because it proves that when we need help we can turn to this people as an example, whether in real life or in a book. Of some of the many examples that there are, Prim and buttercup (The Hunger Games, trilogy ), Jonas and Gabe (The Giver), Harry and Dobby(Harry Potter, series) are gorgeous examples of unlikely relationships, even if the aren’t always strong.

Starting a business is hard and requires a lot of commitment, learning, and determination. It is a challenging thing that can lead to a huge success or to a huge failure. So, the Startup.com documentary shows us the success and quick failure of govWorks Inc. a dot-com company founded in 1998 by Kaleil Isaza Tuzman and Tom Herman. The documentary gives the audience an insight of how difficult can be mixing friends and business. The dream of Kaleil and Herman, entrepreneurs and co-founders, came to reality pretty fast because they presented to the market pioneering ideas of what we know nowadays as, e-commerce. The company was a huge success in the first months and they raised over 60 million dollars along the way but it also became a failure in just two years when it went bankrupt. What was the mistake? What could they have done differently? Even though the idea of the company was revolutionary by that time, this whole project demonstrated to Kaleil, Tom, and future entrepreneurs, that the key rules to start a business, and succeed on it, are good management, teamwork, and leadership.

My 18-month stint at iNautix Technologies, a subsidiary of the Bank of New York Mellon, has helped me fully understand the corporate structure and gain global exposure. Employers are short changing themselves, their companies, their current employees, and their applicants when a good candidate is selected instead of a great one, simply because they have said enough buzz words in their interview. The interview portion of the process can even possess unreasonable bias to the applicant. Hypothetical questions about working in teams and working with clients allow the applicant to filter themselves, saying only what they think the employer wants to hear, focusing on strengths instead of weaknesses. Applicants who work in sales and are used to the practice of pitching products and services, will have their own sales pitch prepared and be ready to sell their product – themselves – as the solution to the employers hiring problem. Using social media when analyzing candidates can give an employer more unbiased information about applicants than the best resume or the longest interview.
“One month ago at a town board press conference, a young man burst through the doors shouting, ‘Eureka!’ He wrestled his way onto the stage and told everyone that he’d come up with ‘the company which will lead the next century,’ and, ladies and
