Analyzing a film is like looking at a formula. The first part of the formula is creating a story, which is a sequence of events. Then a plot, which is a way of telling the story. The story is then written up in a screenplay or script. Then to a director, cast, and cinematographer on how to piece the movie together. In my introduction post of week one in this course I stated that Shrek was an impactful movie for me. I stated that besides the humor the movie provided the underlining plot was powerful. I stated that the moral of the story was how the movie went against the normal stories I knew growing up. I also noted that the movie showed that not all endings are happy ending. While the other films involved in the lesson also seemed intriguing, this one really affected me. It practically made it obligatory for me to discuss it while also providing people with the opportunity to learn more concerning the event.

In Disney’s 2010 movie Tangled a Princess gets separated from her parents (the King and Queen) because an evil woman wanted the child with the magic hair. Rapunzel's magic hair sent her into the adventure of a lifetime, but as suspected when Rapunzel was locked in a tower for eighteen years of her life and it had taken a toll on her mental state. Film is a series of artistic moving images that make up a story. In every film, the director visually presents the storyline, different characters, the problems they encounter and how they were deal with. There is a wide range of ways to study films of various genres. We focus on film language, genre, mise-en-scene, representation, stereotypes, etc. In Black Girl, it was depicted as an allegory and had a lot of mise-en-scene.
`Shrek' is the ultimate fractured fairy tale, a film that manages to simultaneously honor and lampoon the conventions of its genre without becoming smug or condescending in the process. For while it is sardonic, `Shrek' is never cynical, so confident and assured are its makers in establishing and maintaining just the right tone for a revisionist exercise such as this one. The film certainly conveys a modern sensibility, yet it is a gentle sort of iconoclasm that allows us to enjoy the more conventional aspects of the story (the happily-ever-after ending, for example) even as we are laughing at the obvious absurdities contained within them.
There are many different elements of film that filmmakers can utilize to make a film. These steps create a basic understanding of the artistic and technical elements found in moviemaking. In addition, the major characteristics of different film genres and classic movies will be analyzed. The purpose of this paper is analyzing the Academy Award winning film Chicago. This paper will describe the six steps that a person should think about when watching a movie. These steps include, (1) analysis of the narrative: story, plot and meaning; (2) theatrical elements, (3) cinematography, (4) editing, (5) sound and the (6) complete package.
