Because the modern U.S. and Ancient Rome have many similarities and differences, the lessons from Ancient Rome could help the U.S. to avoid and collapse that Rome experienced.
There are many differences between Ancient Rome and the U.S. One difference between Ancient Rome and the U.S. One difference was Ancient Rome’s government. In Ancient Rome their government was a republic then it turned into a pure monarchy/dictatorship. In this government the eldest child of the current emperor is the heir to the throne. Another difference would be how Ancient Rome made their money. Ancient Rome conquered other countries and took their wealth. The U.S. made their own money at a printing press. One more difference between Ancient Rome and the U.S. would be they both have different types of currency. Ancient Rome used gold coins for their currency and the U.S. uses a paper currency.

One similarity is that they are both superpowers. Ancient Rome was a superpower because no one could stop them from taking over their land. The U.S. is a superpower also because they have many trading parties with other countries. Another similarity would be that both the U.S. and Rome had big building projects. One building project that the Romans made was the Pantheon. One of the building projects the U.S. did was the making of the U.S.Capital Building. A last similarity is that both the U.S. and Ancient Rome has the same government type. The government type that they both have is a republic. The Romans had a straight up republic until Augustus Caesar came to power it turned into an oligarchy/ monarchy type of government. Today in the U.S. we have a constitutional

Rome's vast empire lasted for an amazing one thousand-year reign. Half of it referred to as the republic, and the other as the empire. However, after its fall in 5oo-a.d. Rome has still remained in existence through its strong culture, architecture, literature, and even religion (Spielvogel 175). Even after its disappearance as a nation Rome left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. Its ideals and traditions have been immolated, and adopted for over two thousand years. Whether, it is through its language of Latin, its influence of religion, or its amazing architectural ability Rome has influenced almost every culture following its demise. The heritage of Rome has
Entertainment wise the people of Rome and the people of American share some what the same interest in the same things. For example gladiators and horse races evolved to boxing and Nascar. Also physically demanding things
“While stands the Coliseum, Rome shall stand; When falls the Coliseum, Rome shall fall; And when Rome falls - the World.” Lord Byron. This essay will discuss the similarities of military, economics and systems of government between the Roman Empire of the 6th century BCE and the United States of America of the 20th century. History has revealed that all superpowers fall eventually, although much time has passed since the glory days of Rome we see in 2015 the largest superpower in charge, the United States. Both Romans and Americans are known for allowing their conquered to enjoy a certain amount of liberty. A less glorious similarity is the Roman and American social welfare systems. Straying from using the imagination and classical problem solving, both civilizations have expended their resources to quiet the cries of the hopeless, without building any hope for their unfortunate citizens. Roman law influenced much of the American legal system, especially in the area of criminal justice. America has followed in the footsteps of the Romans in many ways, for better or for worse.
Both time periods have differences, but they also have similarities that tie the two together. Both Roman time periods had land extending from Spain to present day Turkey. Over time they both gained and lost territory during their time of rule, but the core land mass obtained from them was the same. The capital for both groups was Rome, Italy. This was the halfway point of the land. So, when the leaders were needed, they could travel in a short matter of time. Both time periods also spoke the same language which was Koine and Latin. Koine was the original language that most knew how to speak and slowly Latin was brought into both. They also shared the same resources, which is because both lived in the same location. They were known to export several types of metals and wheat (View Article: Imperial Rome vs. Roman Republic).
The United States has adopted parts of Ancient Roman culture into modern day life. Over time Rome became the superpower of the Mediterranean controlling a vast amount of city-states. Power from trade, innovative minds, a powerful military, and influence from other cultures combined to make Rome one of the most powerful regions of the time period. The United States has taken some aspects of Rome’s culture and has incorporated it into society making both regions similar. Roman culture was like our own culture in the United States today because of the system of government, the use of sporting events to escape the affairs of daily life and the funeral inscriptions on grave markers.
Did you know that the Roman empire was one of the strongest and one of the most powerful empire? Well as we all know the Roman empire fell for these reasons. The first reason is because the population decreased. The next reason is because the Roman empire had a economic crisis. The final reason is because the Roman empire had tons of invaders invading Rome at the same time so Rome couldn’t fight all those empires!.
“America is the new Roman Empire,” Eddie Izzard. Around the mid-700s BC, a group of people called the Latins moved to the hills near the Tiber River. There they formed what would eventually become the center of Roman civilization. This civilization would grow to become one of the most influential in history. The Roman Empire has had an influential impact on the United States in ways of culture, government, and architecture. The Roman Empire fell but their ways will not be lost in history.

It can be normal that people consider many similarities between U.S and Rome as dominant powers, global influence, open society, culturally similar, etc. but there are some notable differences clarifying that U.S. can not be the new Rome as some people think. Starting with the community of each country; in U.S social classes exist that are upper class, new money, Middle class, Working class, Working poor, Poverty level where Rome has space for middle class, they were always a slaveholding when U.S started out as a slaveholding polity, “Rome was always a slaveholding polity with the profound moral and social retardation that this implies; America started out as a slaveholding polity and decisively cast slavery aside.” During the time pass we

Roman civilization was similar to that of Greece, in which most of their practices have deep roots in religion. The religion was also very similar, so much so that most of the gods were the same just with different names, and a little more aggressive. Rome had a more art based view on life along with engineering and literature
The contemporary United States has been influenced by many ancient civilizations, mainly Classical Rome and Classical Greece. Even though Greece had a tremendous influence over our civilization, out of these two classical civilizations, I believe that Classical Rome has had a bigger impact on many aspects of the contemporary United States. In this essay, I am going to examine the political system, economic system, and the architecture of the Classical Rome Empire, and explain how these influenced the contemporary United States.
