If you’ve ever read a book and then watched the movie then you know that most of the time the book and the movie aren’t always the same. In class we read the books And Then There Were None and A Wrinkle In Time, then we watched the movies. As you’ve probably already guessed the movies and the books were slightly different. In A Wrinkle In Time, the book, the main character Meg wears glasses, but in the movie she doesn’t. In the book Megs little brother Charles Wallace is five years old, then in the movie he’s six years old. Even though these may be small differences they still make an impact. In And Then There Were None, the book, there is a man named Tony Marston, but in the movie they change his name to something totally different. In
All in all there were many things different about the book compared to the movie.
In the book miles take the bars down. But in the movie winnie gets miles out of jail. In the book miles and jesse kidnapped winnie. but in the movie it was just miles. In the book the horses got stolen. But in the movie the horses didn’t get stolen.
For instance, in the book Joppy knew Albright; Albright knew Todd Carter; Todd Carter knew Richard McGee as well as Matthew Terrell whereas in the movie every character denied knowing each other except Albright and Joppy. Another noticeable difference is that in the book Frank Green, Daphne’s brother ends up murdered and in the movie he lives and they both end up moving. The third noticeable difference is a character name change from the book to the movie; Matthew Teran in the book is Matthew Terrell in the movie and he ends up being murdered in the book whereas at the end of the movie he’s running for mayor. A fourth noticeable difference is the pier scene. In the book Albright and Easy meet at the Santa Monica pier and in the movie it is the Malibu pier. And the last most noticeable difference between the book and the movie is that Mouse knows Daphne Monet or shall we call her by her real name Ruby Hanks; however, in the movie the audience never finds that out. In the movie the only true thing you get to know about Daphne is that she is both black and white. Therefore, due to the many differences between the book and the movie it is confusing to the audience since it is almost like dealing with two different stories because of the plot inconsistencies.
mean there are only small little things that are different in the book and movie.
The historical time period was also changed from the book to the movie, as was the time of summer in which the story
When a movie comes out made after a specific novel, the screenplay eliminates most of these minute differences. For example, the letters in the beginning of the novel were depicted as high action scenes rather than in letter format.
As we began to watch the movie “A Wrinkle in Time,” we found many differences such as, at the beginning of the story Meg has a flashback of her father unlike in the book. This is an example of the directors not following the story line. As she has this flashback it is foreshadowing her and Charles Wallace finding their father. Another example of the director not following the original story line is in the movie “A Wrinkle in TIme,” they show Mrs.Murray looking up the tesseract unlike in the book. This also is showing foreshadowing because Meg see that her father is stuck in the tesseract the thing her mom was looking up. So, now she knows why she hadn’t seen her father in a five or six years.
The difference between the developing way of books and movies is magnificently huge because the way of emotion transmitting is different; the movie is based on vision, while the book is based on words.
There are other significant similarities between the movie and the book, so if I overlooked or forgot any extremely crucial points, forgive me.
When watching the film, the first difference the viewer can see between the book and the movie is how the characters are portrayed. A notable example would be Carlson. In the film,
Behind every great movie, comes a storyline that is derived from a book however, most of the books to the movies have a great number of deviations. The screenwriters and other staff members to include the director come up with these deviations to enhance the plot in the attempt to make it a more interesting film to which in turn can make a better profit. The majority of differences that is found in films main objective is to enhance the mind. For example, when a scene has the ability to get a particular feeling out of a viewer, it is imperative to be able to understand the reasons for those feelings. The dialog and the visual effects of a scene sets a tone that differs from that of the book that it was taken from. Also, screen writers and
People always complain when a movie and book have slightly different events that happen in a movie and a slightly different story line. For example, the poem of Beowulf and the movie are different. In the movie it is easily discoverable to see the difference from the poem. The poem describes Grendel’s mother as an ugly monster, but in contrast the movie has Angelina Jolene as the character, a beautiful woman. The movie also has a different story line about the kings having children with Grendel’s mother. Lastly, another difference is that Beowulf’s personality is different.
Most of the book and film can be different they is most likely the same. Almost
The movie and book was way different. They talked the same and were word for word at some parts. The biggest difference was the timeline. The book took place in the past and the movie took place in the modern time. When the movie started to talk i was thinking about the horses they were going to be riding but wasn't I not wrong there was cars everywhere.
Overall the book and the movie will never be the same simply because while reading a book you illustrate a certain image in your head of the setting of the book and during a movie it is another person's perspective outside of yours such as in the case its Jackson's perspective of the book and the images that he created on his own while
