Music can help people with many different things. Including being very therapeutic, lifting the moods of people, and reducing pain a lot. Music does not have negative side effects. Therefore, making it a very safe and cost efficient treatment. Many different research projects have been conducted over the years. One such project was done in The United Kingdom and Finland on how emotions correlate with listening to sad music. It has been found that sad music brings about positive feelings. Throughout history it is seen that music is used by all. However, not all rhythms are taken the same way. It depends what a person is use to as to whether or not they will enjoy it. When music has a 60 beats per minute rhythm it stimulates the left and the right brain. When both sides of the brain or stimulated then learning is maximized. It has been proven that people can learn incredibly fast, and retain incredible amounts of information, if listening to the 60 beats per minute music. It is absolutely incredible how intricate the human brain is, especially with regards to music. Recall is optimized if the same music is played while learning as well as during recall. In the world today, music has become a big influence on everyone. With the power of music, each person has the ability to accomplish goals even if the music is country or rap. Most people believe that music can change a person’s mood or behavior which is true. Without music people could not control the way they act. Having looked at the emotional effect this music has on people, it is now worth looking at the specific churches within the Sydney diocese to get a greater understanding on a smaller level as to how the music is played and what effect it might have. Many treatments have been created to combat this disease, which at its worst results in suicide and death. Treatments often include psychotherapy and antidepressants. Researchers have been seeking other ways that depression can be treated. One such alternate treatment is music therapy. I have this theory that when it comes to music there is an unseen power which transforms.
