Hi Beverly, My heart goes out to you and all those having to deal with anxiety. Sigh, it sure isn't a fun thing to have to deal with.undecided I do not currently meditate, but can see how it would be helpful. Do you find it helpful? All the sugar from the cookies can't be helping things or watching my dog become weaker and thinner each day from cancer. I am a worrier by nature, especially when it comes to loved ones. Just the word "cancer" brings up many painful memories, loss of loved ones, and terrible grief. Cigarettes were my go to thing or crutch in life. Not having a replacement for my cigarettes other then junk food I'm sure isn't good and causes anxiety as well. I really need to start exercising to reduce stress and feel better.
Meditation is also appropriate in treating anxiety since persistent symptoms of anxiety, and depression, often reflect deficiencies in coping that meditation techniques often have a positive effect on (Toneatto & Ngyuen, 2007).
Everyone close your eyes and let's all imagine something together. The setting is Iraq in a forest. You're lying down in a pool of sweat and blood. The darkness surrounds your whole being, and the only weapon you have against it, Is your gun. You hear footsteps running to your hideaway, your bush, until the shadow gets to close and you hear the cock of a gun .you finally pull the trigger on this shadows life. You stare down at your bloodshed uniform and at the corpse in front of you. And it was at that precise moment this man's corpse was engraved in your mind for all of eternity. Sounds like any other horror movie doesn't it?Well guess what this situation is a harsh reality for many of America's finest , our very own veterans. And the most sinister thing of it all is that it's all happening right under our noses, and at this point it's a elephant in the room that no one wishes to address. The conclusion that many americans have drawn is that if we simply avoid a problem it will disappear into thin air. And that's why i'm here today to express to you the silent killer that has struck America quite brutally. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or better known as PTSD. Hello Panel my name is Derek Gonzalez and today i come to serve one purpose and one purpose only, i came to address the
Purpose: After listening to my speech, the audience will be more educated on Texas’s roadside attractions, as well as relate to the sites I will discuss in my presentation.
Anxiety is one of the most common illnesses in America. Your palms can get sweaty, you get nervous and your blood pressure can increase. Some students can go through anxiety every day just by having to go to school or present in class like I am now. I am presenting a speech in front of a decent size class some of who I am familiar with and some of you who I barely know so that can be a bit scary and nerve racking.
My informative speech was on what factors influence access to mental health care facilities in the United States. I spoke on how government access, mental health stigma, and public awareness all affect how people can get proper treatment in mental health care facilities. I described how mental health care facilities include school, hospitals, as well as outpatient centers across the nation. I explained why physical and mental health should be treated equally; not with one type of health having more power over the other. My passion for this topic was driven by my desire to be a therapist in the future. I plan on going to graduate school to earn a master's degree so I can help make a difference in people’s lives as a counselor. In my speech,
General Purpose: To inform the audience about the cause, affect and ways to manage stress.
other parts of the world have reported signs of depression by being sad for different reasons. Depression is a normal occurrence that follows the death of a loved one, challenges of life struggles, problems in social life and the feeling of low self-worth.
Attention Getter: Have you ever been down in the dumps? Always feeling helpless or worthless? No matter what you do you just can’t seem to be happy. Well if you have ever felt that way this could be a sign of depression.
Have you ever thought about how weird a lot of phobias can be? Ones such as being afraid of cats, afraid of going anywhere near stairs, afraid of the world ending and constantly living in a state of fear or being scared of fake superstitions like Friday the 13th? Imagine what life must be like for those kinds of people.
Attention Getting Device: “All day, every day, life is like this. Fear. Apprehension. Avoidance. Pain. Anxiety about what you said. Fear that you said something wrong. Worry about others' disapproval. Afraid of rejection, of not fitting in. Anxious to enter a conversation, afraid you'll have nothing to talk about. Hiding what's wrong with you deep inside, putting up a defensive wall to protect your "secret". You are undergoing the daily, chronic trouble of living with this mental disorder we call social anxiety disorder.” How many of you know someone or have heard of mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, or personality disorders?

how they are doing on the unit, if they have any questions. If a student asks you for help don’t make them feel stupid, then ask why they don’t ask anymore questions.
I chose this topic because I wanted to focus on a matter that is relevant to the audience in order for them to be interested. Also, I wanted the audience to learn something new that they could apply to their lives currently.
Imagine coming home after a long day at school when you can practically taste the leftovers you hid in the fridge the night before, only to find that they aren’t there. I don’t know if this has happened to you, but it happens to me all the time, and it’s probably one of the most infuriating and disappointing things ever. Infuriating because I know somebody ate it when I asked them not to, and disappointing because that food was the only thing I’d been looking forward to all day. Now, try to imagine this happening every day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, for days, weeks, and months on end. Unfortunately, for some this is more than just a scenario we were asked to imagine, it’s a reality. This is food insecurity. Food insecurity
As much as we love stepping out looking our absolute best, the process to get there sometimes makes us ask over and over again, is it worth it?
