I would go to AP Psychology even if I did not have to because the class itself taught me more than psychology, it taught me more than just psychology. The class helped me understand myself better. At the time, I was recovering from a difficult transition, I had just lost my grandpa and the year before I lost aunt. Psychology helped me understand what my family was going through during the grieving period and allowed me to connect with them better because I did not understand how to react whenever my aunt or grandpa was brought up, instead I would casually shrug off the subject. However after taking the class, it opened my eyes to a whole new perspective. I did not see a grieving cousin, instead I saw a depressed cousin that was in dire need
In Chapter 7 of our What Is Psychology textbook, we learned about the importance, details and strategies of memory techniques. One type of memory is Short Term, which only last up to thirty seconds before forgetting. Whenever has to remember a number or a name, they often repeat the information multiple times so that the Short Term Memory can transition into Long Term Memory. In order for this transition to occur, the information must be constantly repeated, or important enough to be held in the permanent memory, which helps create a “folder” with all retaining information and reminiscing. Another way short term can become long term is using a method called Chunking, this breaks the bigger pictures into smaller ones for the brain to remember,
My heart remains set on becoming a psychologist and I plan to accomplish that dream in the years to come. For now, I am taking an AP psychology class while I finish my senior year; I decided to get a taste for what the rest of my life will be like. Thankfully, this class has only cleared my vision for becoming a psychologist. I’ve learned that the term “psychology” itself is rather broad. There are many fields and subfields in psychology, not to mention there are psychiatrists and psychoanalysts as well. I’m not sure what field exactly I want to partake in, but I’m hoping that I will be able to make a choice when I attend CU Boulder in the

My primary uses of time would fall under the category of sleep. It is quite ironic that this is the activity that I do the most; when in reality I feel like I sleep the least. Making this excel spreadsheet really put everything that I do in a typical week into retrospective. What did not come as a surprise to me is what I spend most of my money on. Aside from bills and rent, I typically find myself spending money on food and drinks.

To me psychology in itself is a beautiful mosaic piece hanging in museum and a Mozart’s symphony piece paying in the background. My interest in clinical psychology dates back to my years in high school, where I excelled in psychology. When I was a senior, I took a second-year course in psychology at my high school. This advanced-level AP psychology class was engaging and interesting, and earned an A. Since then all I can remember, I have been motivated to understand human thought, feeling, and behavior. It seemed only logical that I pursue a career in clinical psychology.
The night before the exam was filled with review videos, chapter summaries, scribbled, almost-illegible notes, and very little sleep. I had known the date of the exam since the day I had registered for it over 6 months ago, and yet I had neglected to do one bit of studying until the literal last minute before the exam. To make matters even worse, I had taken the actual course during the previous semester, so the material was not exactly what you would call "fresh in my mind". I had procrastinated my way through 6 months of waiting, and now the time had finally come. I was about to take the AP Psychology for the first and only time in my life, and I had not studied a day since the final exam.

In module 1. pages 3-6, Myers discusses the different regions of psychology and also credits scientists, philosophers and students who developed psychology into what it is now. According to Myers, mental processes are subjective experiences. When a person has these mental processes such as beliefs or dreams, how do psychologists link specific behaviors to them considering these mental processes are subjective? Are there any past scientists, philosophers or students that should not be considered a psychologist anymore because our definition of psychology has changed? As psychology is always changing due to new advances of information, should past psychological theories no longer be considered as more appropriate ones are being

From a young age, I have always been passionate about helping others. In the future, I see myself as a counselor or therapist; a professional that others can rely upon in the community. As an international student, I hope to gain a bigger world view and use my abilities to support others on an international and global scale. One of the most frustrating parts of growing up, is the inability to aid those in need. Witnessing first hand the tragedies many of my close friends had to go through, prompted me to spend many nights researching different coping strategies and related support to help them. When a laugh and a smile became not enough, I made a promise to myself to become someone others could professionally turn to. Taking AP Psychology
AP Psychology was my very First AP class. I am very thrilled that my first class was Mrs.Shelnutt. She is a terrific teacher. During the beginning I struggled with keeping up with the work and studying. The number one thing that you need to do for this class is read the book. Throughout the semester this was my one flaw that I couldn’t do consistently but the times I did I got a good grade on the test. Another important thing is the interactive notebook. Throughout the course you have to fill out a notebook with vocabulary from each of the chapters. This is an important study tool for when it comes time to study for the test and all the comps. When Mrs.shelnutt goes through the power point for the chapter you are learning it is smart to print
I thoroughly enjoyed this semester's psychology course. It was incredibly fascinating and interesting to learn how people think and what affects them as individuals. I gained powerful insight that I can now bring forward into my life.
The course that I am having problem with this semester is Introduction to Psychology 101. It’s not that difficult it’s just that there is too much terminology and you have you make sure you are using the right vocabulary when writing my essay. I find it very difficult most of the time I know what the professor want but to put it in an essay format, I would always be struggling. I’ve tried many ways to approach it but I’m still not doing that good.
