Ap Seminar Reflection

Good afternoon classmates have been excellent to share are experience and the insight of our weekly discussions this semester. I've increased my knowledge this semester on the explanatory material of understanding that everyone in the community is affected society and through open communication of understanding our social surroundings. When I first took this class, I didn't know the difference between psychology which is the study of behavior versus sociology which is the study of people. Next, I would say I learned the importance of critical thinking and following the steps to research because if you don't come up with the question first your research is doomed. My first semester as a college freshman is finally coming to an end. This semester has been the start to a new chapter in my life and I am glad to have finally finished my first semester on a high note. Coming into college I never knew what things would be like and how would I adjust. All I knew is that I wanted to succeed and eventually graduate college. The courses I have taken this semester have had big impact on my learning and my future. Assignments that taught skills and lessons to be used in the future. I have learned skills such as being able to collaborate in groups because of projects in ASU 150.

When this class started at the beginning of this semester I was not sure I would learn a lot. The main objectives of this class were fairly simple. There were five main objectives to use and know. They are the following:

I seek a PA program that will push me to reach my potential as a clinician and make me feel comfortable along the way. The Northwestern PA Program exceeds my criteria and has numerous qualities that led to my decision to apply. Given that the Northwestern PA Program is well established and has a strong history of PANCE pass rates, I am confident that the education provided will prepare me well as a clinician. Additionally, the curriculum, resources, community and active improvement of the program lead to my decision to apply to the Northwestern PA Program.

After taking honors English for the past three school years, I now want the challenge of taking a higher level course: AP literature and composition. At this point in my high-school career, I’ve been able to take three advanced classes, and I want this class on my belt as well.

Looking back at the amount of writing I’ve done for AP Literature, I can see growth in my understanding of poetry and of literature. There are skills and concepts that I need to focus on and refine as I continue on through the class, but I am confident in the abilities that I have picked up so far.

One of the interesting facts about these videos to me is that University of Phoenix produced and used challenge coin without the approval from the military just to trick veterans to believe that Department of Defense has looked and examined that organization and authorized them in some way to provide them with the

First off, I want to thank you for making this year and my first honors English experience fun for me! Though this year was challenging for me, it has also been extremely knowledgeable. From my freshman year to sophomore year, I can definitely notice the difference in my writing and reading. I can definitely see how much I have grown, and I am sure you could see these improvements too. Last year, I was in regular English and jumping from regular to honors was a huge step for me, which at first, I was not fully comfortable with. But as I got to know this year’s class and of course you, Mrs. Walker, I felt like I belonged here, in an honors English class. Throughout this year, I have learnt and improved at my skills of properly annotating texts, writing a proper claim, analyzing author’s style, and also analyzing rhetorical situations.

I will not get an A, and I know that it is my fault. I should have work harder, I should have focus more on my lesson and homework, I shouldn’t wait until the last minus to finish assignments. Also, I should learn how to use time effectively. Those are experiences that I have learn about myself. The other thing which is more important is that I knew what I want to do in the future. As the semester was coming to a beginning I honestly thought I was ready for this course. I say this because senior year high school I took an advanced placement English class. I also, say I was ready to start this course because I have had practice with English and writing essays during my summer before beginning Fall year. I would get good grades on my essays both my AP English class and my Summer English class. So with that being said I thought I was going to do good in this course. As I began this course and saw that we were only going to be doing three essays and a portfolio for the whole year, I thought I was so ready for the semester. Throughout this semester in English 101, I have made a significant improvement on multiple things, including how to be an exceptional writer and thinker. English has always been one of my most favored subjects to study because to me it instructs students how to be intelligent, how to become a more creative and critical thinker, and be able to develop ethical values and imagination. You can express yourself more efficiently in English than you can in any other subject. This class has truly made me a more confident writer and helped me express myself in different ways through the different types of papers I wrote. The Last Lecture is equally a telling of how Randy Pausch lived his life and a guide on how others should live theirs. Pausch was a professor at Carnegie Mellon and gave his last lecture after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. However, this lecture was not filled with weepy memories of his family or things he wished he could change. Instead, it was a recount of how he was able to achieve all of his childhood dreams and steps for anyone to do the same. Almost everything Randy says in his lecture are extremely quotable words to live by. He touches upon some of the most fundamental themes that everyone can understand, like the benefits of a positive attitude and how to overcome obstacles to achieve your dreams.

I share the same concerns on my writing as you. The APA guidelines are a continuing source of learning of rime. It is a goal of mine to master the APA guidelines. Regarding the course writing assignments I appreciate the Rubics. It serves as a map for me when I am completing my writing assignments. The Rubic also helps with the flow of my papers. When I am writing my assignments I approach my paper as a puzzle and allow the Rubics to serve as my guide. It is easier and less complicated for me to research, write and compile my paper. It may sound a little off but the process works for me. The information in the APA writing guide is extremely helpful. Without a doubt the lessons and exercises on time management were the most meaningful to me. They brought insight into why I seemed to be constantly working yet still never really got anything I wanted to accomplish throughout the day finished. I realized the majority of the activities I had been spending the most time on didn’t reflect my values of hard work and self discipline and long term academic goals to be successful in college. This motivated to completely change the way I managed my time by effectively striking a balance between my maintenance, committed, and free time.
