Are You a Baby Cow? Propaganda is a large part of today 's society. Governments and industry use propaganda to further their own agendas, whether it is to better their society or not. The easiest target to manipulate: children. It is because of their trusting nature that children are always targeted. Children almost always believe what they are told, from 2+2=4, to what makes up a healthy diet. When children are taught about the food pyramid, and what makes up a healthy diet, they are consistently told that they should drink milk, at least a glass a day, to make sure they grow up healthy and strong. But that is exactly the point, the milk is made for each female 's own baby. That is why human females produce milk for their babies, and cows produce milk for their babies. But, it is abnormal that a species should drink the milk of another species. The milk that a cow produces is perfect for a calf, not a grown human, so naturally it was not made for a grown human to consume. Think about it, a dog is never seen drinking a cat’s milk, nor is a calf ever seen drinking milk from a horse. So why do we see humans drinking milk from a cow everyday? Looking at what the popular information says, it is easy to see why people would want to drink milk. According to the article Is Milk Bad For You by Megan Ware, milk contains calcium which is attributed to building and maintaining strong bones and teeth and choline which helps with sleep, muscle movement, learning, and memory. Milk also contains potassium, high intakes of potassium are associated with a 20% reduced risk of stroke, heart disease, and high blood temperature; milk also contains fortified Vitamin D, important for growth, formation and development of bones (Ware). Milk also contains trace amounts of many important minerals such as magnesium or phosphorus (Ware). All of these minerals, vitamins, and nutrients seem great, right? It is a shame that all of the great qualities about milk get completely damaged during pasteurization.
