There are over five hundred thousand abortions per year in America alone. To this day, abortion is still a widely debated topic. Whether you are pro-life, the believe that abortion is murder or pro-choice, the belief that women should be the ones deciding if the child they are carrying is to be aborted, you have an opinion on the topic. The points that pro-life activists make are far stronger than those of the pro-choice activists. Due to the inhumane acts that abortion does to unborn children, such as devaluing them, abortion should be made illegal.
Prior to 1973, abortion was illegal in the United States. The U.S. Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade is the case that rules that the unborn baby is not a human. The case did happen to try to declare when the fetus does become a human. The main debate is whether or not the fetus ever becomes a human and is that human should be protected under the law. Both sides argue that life begins at conception or life begins at birth, if the first one was proven true, this case if abortion should be made legal would be solved.
There are 3 types of abortions, spontaneous, medical and surgical. A spontaneous abortion occurs on it’s own without a human intervening to cause it. A medical abortion is caused by a use of a drug. The drug most commonly used for these types of abortions is called mifepristone. The third type of abortion is surgical.
