Abortion is known as the termination of human pregnancy. There are mixed opinions from the public on whether abortion is considered murder or not. This topic has always been controversial and there is no sign of it being left alone. There are two groups of people related to abortion. Those are pro-life and pro-choice, pro-life oppose abortion and pro-choice is for abortion. There have been many court cases on the topic of abortion, such as Roe v. Wade, Doe v. Bolton, Baird v. Bellotti, and Harris v. McRae to name a few. The federal government’s decisions on the cases are very unbiased and their behavior towards abortion is neutral but sometimes they do change. These court cases have made major impacts to the nation in terms of abortion

Abortion is one of the most socially, politically, and culturally controversial topics of the 21st century, ultimately affecting women of all ages. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo (Merriam Webster.1). The United States Supreme Court ratified the legalization of abortion in an effort to make the procedure safer; this was done through the Roe v Wade decision of 1973. In the United States more than a thousand abortions take place every day, and although legal, public opinion remains at a standstill as to whether or not abortion is ethical. In the midst of the controversy, two groups emerged. These two groups are referred to as pro-choice and pro-life. Pro-life supporters claim that the life of a baby begins at conception, therefore the act of abortion is equivalent to murder. Pro-choice supporters, on the other hand, believe that a woman has the right to choose what she does with her body. In the end, one must understand the implications of abortion in order to answer the question, is abortion ethically and legally moral?

On January 22, 1973, the United States Supreme Court ruled, in a 7-2 decision, on the Roe vs. Wade case legalizing abortion. Since the legalization of abortion in 1973, there have been approximately 60 million abortions within the United States. The Roe vs. Wade ruling sparked a controversial debate that has lasted for over 40 years. People that are pro-choice believe that abortion should be legal and that it is ultimately the mother’s decision. The opposite of pro-choice is pro-life. People that associate with this stance believe that abortion is wrong and any life, whether born or unborn, should be protected. Over the years, there have been several arguments established both for and against abortion. Three strong arguments of pro-life are that life begins at conception, there are harmful mental effects of abortion, and there are flaws to the Roe vs. Wade final ruling.

Abortion is the most disputed argument in the United States dividing its people nationwide. To clarify abortion is legal in the United States. There is rallys marching annually for abortion to be banned. My objective is to stop pro-life crowds harassing women outside plan parenthoods. I will be discussing pro-choice arguments and counterarguments to those of the pro-life views. In addition i will include Judith Thomson's violinist analogy and john Hospers libertarianism views and how this proves my argument in how abortion is morally permissible.

Abortion has been one of the hottest debates for many years now. Abortion is the process of taking the life of an innocent unborn child resting harmlessly in their mother's womb. Abortion is known to be a sensitive topic, but like the conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro said, “Facts don't care about your feelings” (qtd. in Berrien). Pro-choice supporters deny the facts that abortion is wrong and disgusting. Abortion is an evil act and it should be made illegal.

Abortions are one of the many things that everyone has an opinion on. As defined by the 2012 Merriam-Webster dictionary, an Encyclopedia Britannica Company, an abortion is, “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation-miscarriage, the induced expulsion of a human fetus, or the expulsion of a fetus by a domestic animal often due to infection at any time before completion of pregnancy.”

Mother Teresa once said, “The greatest destroyer of today’s peace is abortion, because it is a war against an unborn child, the direct killing of an innocent child, murder by the mother (McCuen 71).”Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy ("Abortion Documentary" 0:07). All around the world women have tried to end their pregnancies, no matter if it was permitted or not ("Backgroud of the Issue" 1). And today it is the most common performed procedure all across the United States (Contributors 1). With the method of abortion a mother does not learn how to love her own child, and a father does not have to take accountabilities for his whereabouts. They solely obtain the information on how to unravel their complications (McCuen 72). The homicide of an unborn child using outrageous procedures is ethically wrong.

Abortion is a conversational act that no one can seem to agree upon the long going argument dates to 1973 when “US Supreme Court’s 7-2 decision on Roe v. Wade declared the procedure a "fundamental right" (procon.org). Across America, the topic of abortion is still something that is regarded as taboo to speak about. Even today where it is more commonly brought up, the stigma surrounding the medical procedure has not gone away. There’s a rift between those who are pro-life and pro-choice, and each group has their own reasoning why or why not abortion should or should not be criminalized. The controversy about abortion is mainly rooted in the pro-life group believing that a fetus has the same rights as a born child and the mother. This stems into our government as well, where we have staunch republicans and democrats arguing back and forth over abortion. This also includes people who are incredibly religious and believe that it would go against Gods wishes, as humans are made in his image. Those who are pro-choice believe safe, legal abortions are a right and should be a readily available option to any woman who chooses to have one, no matter the circumstance. Abortion should be an option and that it should be a woman’s right whether to get one, and that she should be the only one to make that decision, not the government. There are many reasons why abortions should be an option, and some of those reasons are that they would help end surprise and unwanted pregnancy, end

According to the united nations 2016 report, only nine countries in the world have a higher portion rather the united states. With a total of 926,240 abortions in the united states alone. Abortion is a very serious topic that is often overlooked by woman all across the world. Abortion is a very serious subject that should never be taken lightly. Many people ask is abortion murder? Should abortion be illegal? Is Adoption an option these questions are frequently asked questions by women who believe abortion is a right decision but don’t consider their options that they have instead of killing innocent babies. For every mistake, there is almost always a way to make the situation better.

Society as a whole views certain things that take place in life as either right or wrong. Viewing things as right or wrong is all based upon biased perceptions and past experiences with whatever it may be. Everyone has different opinions when it comes to abortions. Such as, if, when, and how it should take place in someone's life. When asking someone how they feel about an abortion it can be discussed as either right or wrong. Conversation can be lead with "I do not agree with someone having an abortion", or " I do agree with the decision of someone who is wanting to go through the abortion process." When asking some people what they think about the idea of someone having an abortion they respond to the question with a response of “it is their body they can do what they want with it”. The process of having an abortion can be good in some cases, whereas in other situations the privilege is abused and taken advantage of.

Which could be possible in some cases, but I look at it as things that we see on a daily basis on our news today maybe a reason why women might consider: abortions. Would you want your mother to have a baby if her life was at risk? Wonder if you were unable to carry the baby full term? This is why I feel that abortions should be okay depending on the situation such as preventing health issues, background, and responsibilities.

Is abortion wrong? Does a fetus have rights? Should a woman have the right to abort if she decides she does not want to have a child? Should a father have a say in whether a fetus is aborted or carried to term? There are countless reasons a woman may choose to have an abortion. Abortion is a controversial and emotional topic that sparks a great deal of debate. Hearing facts will assist one in deriving a more knowledgeable stance on the matter.

Ripped from her mother’s womb, the child struggles to breathe while the doctors spank her butt making sure she’s dead, this is abortion at its finest. A child has come into the world and has been born to a loving and caring family and has gotten gifts from every family member or friend. This is not an act of abortion. Abortion is the act of removing a human embryo or fetus from the uterus of a pregnant woman prior to the completion of the full term of pregnancy.

Abortion is a divisive issue and most of the public is split in half with their views on pro-life and pro-choice. Currently now is 2017, 40% of Americans say abortion should be legal, in all cases while the other 57% say abortion should be legal in all or most cases (Pew Research, 2017). However, views on abortion differ from different demographics of people and level of education of individuals. For example, majority of white people 58% are for legalizing abortion in comparison 62% of black people are in favor. Yet, men and woman have very similar views on abortion, 55% of men in favor of legalizing abortion, as do 59% of woman. Level of education is also a huge factor in an individuals views and opinions towards abortion. Every seven-in-ten college graduates are for legalizing abortion 69%, but only 49% of high school educated Americans agree to legalize abortion (Pew Research, 2017).
