Aristotle, the Man of Thinking

Aristotle is his name, philosophy is the game. Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and scientist who was born in Stagira Greece in 384 B.C. He lived to be 62 years old, which at the time, was a very good lifespan. Aristotle’s place of death was in Chalcis. His full name is Aristotle Stagiritis son of Nicomachus. He had a wife by the name of Hermias and a son with the name of Pythias. Aristotle is known well for teaching the world renowned man, referred to today as Alexander the Great. At the age of 18, he enrolled in the school taught by a man called Plato. The institute was known as the Platonic Academy, he studied there for nearly 20 years. This institute is where it all begin. Aristotle’s father was a physician. This sparked an interest in Aristotle at an early age for science. His interest was not in medicine but other fields of study. There is not much information about the early life of Aristotle. At the age of 18, he traveled to Athens where, as stated earlier, he enrolled in an academy taught by Plato. Plato took him under his wing. Plato was now his mentor. After the 20 years spent in Athens, Aristotle left because he was not happy with the direction the school was moving in. He moved in with a friend Hermias of Atarneus in Asia. Hermias died in 343 B.C. This is when Philip II of Macedon asked Aristotle to become a mentor to Alexander the Great.
