My experience in JROTC was great. Will help me to know more about the history of US, have patriotism, self-reliance and be responsible improve the ability to communicate oral and in writing have the knowledge of team building and basic military skills

Ideal- The Marines Embody more of my personal views and ideals then the other branches of the armed services.

My Mother and Father relocated from Costa Rica to New York City where they met got married and where I was born. When I was just two years old, always wanting the best for us, my father moved our family from New York City to Jacksonville, FL in search of a better paying job and the American dream so he could provide us with a better quality of life. To ensure we were always clothed and feed, my father sacrificed everything for us and worked long hours to do so. Though I did have a pronounced, safe and active upbringing the North Florida school system didn’t expect much from the Hispanics that were starting to move to the then small town; unfortunately since my parents worked so much they expected the school system

I would like to be a part of the WSU Army ROTC program because I have a lot of potential to offer and I want to develop into a full fledged Army officer. The military path is something I have always wanted to pursue since junior year of high school. The influence of growing up in a Navy family helped shaped my decision to enlist in the Army National Guard. I was fortunate enough to be advanced from PV2 to PFC at the end of BCT on November 2016. During Initial Entry Training I realized that my goals and beliefs were aligned with beliefs such as the Army Values and LDRSHIP principles. After learning about the Army values and LDRSHIP principles, I integrated these beliefs into my everyday life as a soldier and a working student.

The ROTC program is going to be a staple for my future. First the main reasons that I wish to receive this scholarship are that it will provide money for schooling and help further my career in the military. This scholarship will provide me with a chance to focus more on my school work, and spend less time worrying about money to pay for school. The scholarship would also allow me to graduate without debt, that in turn would give me the chance to invest early and save for my future. The next reason why I would appreciate the scholarship is being able to become an officer right out of college. Becoming an officer would allow me to start my military career in a higher station, consequently, giving me the opportunity to further my career as far

ROTC programs are also helpful in college tuition. There are scholarships and courses that help an individual prepare to be an officer in the military. Typically the programs are their own courses and take at least four years to complete. After the courses are completed, the individual goes straight to the military for the branch, as an officer, he enrolled in. He also are given many different allowances. The allowances given are usually a housing allowance and a food allowance, depending on the region the individual is attending college. He also gets his tuition paid for, as well as money for books and monthly spending allowance (Yuengling). Worrying about college can be avoided from joining the military. The military even pays for children of veterans and active duty soldiers. Through the military an individual may be relieved, because of all the educational benefits provided for him. The military can help fuel the future of any soldier who wants the benefits.

Joining the military was astonishing in very many aspects in my life and it truly molded me into who I am today. I will genuinely say that the most important people in my life are my mother and father. I am not a parent myself but I have had years to only imagine how tough parenting can be; especially when raising three stubborn boys. My mother and father are very open minded and kind hearted to everyone regardless of who they are. I will be honest here and say that I may not have been as grateful as I should have been when I was a younger kid, but that’s just life. When you are younger, everything is very simple and do not realize the little things in life. I had no other worries except for, “What’s for dinner?”. The military made me realize how much I appreciated and very much needed my loved ones. Travelling far away to Marine Corps Recruiting Depot, San Diego California and starting my very own journey was one of the toughest decisions at that time to make for myself.

I, Jenner Jason Pereda, if selected for appointment under the Active Duty CWO Program, do agree to remain on active duty for a period of 3 years subsequent to acceptance of such appointment.

As a young child, I learned that education would be beneficial to not only myself but also all humankind. Growing up in a Northeast Florida housing project my father and mother did the best they could to raise nine children. My father worked seven days a week in the service industry as a waiter and bartender while my mother worked as a domestic employee in the homes of more affluent people in the south. My father had an eleventh grade education and my mother had not passed the tenth grade before she bore her first child. Neither parent completed high school but they had dreams of their children far exceeding their educational accomplishments. I was child eight of the nine and I knew early on that I did not want to live

I am writing this letter to respectfully ask for your support in helping me become one of the many distinguished cadets at the United States Military Academy. I have achieved so much in my 16 years of life and being appointed into the academy will be very well-deserving and forthcoming to all the amazing opportunities that the academy has to offer. I have worked tremendously hard to obtain a 4.0 gpa and maintain a class rank in the top 100 of my 1000 person class. With your help I can hopefully be appointed as a West Point candidate for the class of 2022.

I have wanted to go into the military since i was very young. Most children say that they want to be a firefighter or a doctor, but i said that i wanted to be in the military. I remeber looking at pictures and learning about military officers and i felt called to be one of those men. My decision and dreams never changed, as most childrens do when they realize the work required. But for reasons beyond my comprehension, my desire of a miltary life never wavered. Both of my parents' fathers served in the military, one n the Air Force and one in the Army. They told me stories of their days in the military, bragging of their different branhes and I took what they said and choose a school that woud lead to a career in neither of their branches.

Throughout high school as I contemplated exactly what directions I wanted my life to lead, two reoccurring scenarios played over in my heart and mind (I always had two fields that peaked my interest), military and nursing. Coming from military family in with my great-grandfathers, grandfather, uncles, and mother have all severed in the Army. Serving my country has always been a dream of mine as well. The decision that I had to make was in what composite? My uncle used his GI bill to pay his way through college ensuing his military service, eventually becoming a biology professor at Jackson State.

Initial acceptance into an ROTC program does not guarantee continued scholarship benefits. Students must adhere to strict academic standards in order to receive continued funding throughout their degree programs. Each military branch has their own rules and regulations regarding your course balance, major selection, and grade minimums. Generally, the AROTC has the least stringent scholarship programs, providing students with the freedom to explore nearly any major and take two ROTC courses of their choosing each semester. The NROTC and AFROTC are more selective about funding majors in specific fields. These military branches tend to prioritize scholarships for students exploring STEM majors or foreign languages.
