Therefore, if an individual becomes a CNA they will have the chance to make a real difference in the life of a person suffering from an illness, disease, or disability. People that become CNAs before becoming a nurse learn good communication skills with patients, families, and other healthcare staff. For instance, someone with CNA experience on their first day of clinical rotations, will already know what to expect because of prior CNA experience. I have wanted to be/ do something in the sports medicine field since I was in the seventh grade. So any chance I get I look up any information that will come up and read everything possible to give more me information about becoming an athletic trainer. This is something that has been very important to me for several years and I’m never letting go of this no matter what it takes to get there. I enjoy sports a lot and like learning how to help people get to learn more about the proper use of equipment, and I like teaching people too. To me an Athletic Trainer is someone that graduates from college certified to provide help to people that are injured, right out of college. This major can be obtained in four years without and further education, however; must take classes to keep up with the ever growing medical field. The main thing I think of when I think about going into Athletic Training is working at a school with the schools sports teams, however; they also can work in physical therapy clinics, hospital settings, nursing homes, etc. Athletic Trainers focus on prevention, treatment, what is wrong, and getting the patient back to health as well as working along side a doctor or physical therapist for further assistants.
Being an athletic trainer in various sports for over five years, Pete has a great deal of insight and suggestions for someone who is interested in the field.
