Abstract:
The system detects the number of person in the ATM booth by using camera. If more than one person is found it activates the full body scanner and a program detects the weapon from the images provided by the scanner. It also scans eye to confirm the owner of the credit card. If these two devices are set the ATM will be more secured.
Introduction
People are attacked by the terrorist and their credit/debit card has taken away by them. It was found that in February 2009, a strong group of criminals have been stolen $9 million from 130 ATMs in 49 cities over the world within 30 minutes [2]. Moreover, as most of the people in big cities use ATM Booth for their money transaction that’s why the customer security on ATM Booth is very important. The technology which is being used to identify the owner is very important and interesting. But it is a matter of sorrow that in our country, there was no attention taken to upgrade the security system before on it. These problems can be overcome by taking some technological devices. Such as, a body scanner machine and eye detected device can be set into the ATM Booth. An alarming device can also be placed there for which the authority can easily be informed.
As the ATM Booth technology is the blessing of modern science and the civilized people use this technology for their banking, its security system should be up to dated. For the safety of people and their money should be the main concern of such technology. For this, the
Furthermore, upon swiping the card the processing machine interprets the code extracting the data routing it to the proper bank to obtain approval. The data can process around the world in 120 milliseconds. Nevertheless, making cards frequently compromised due to the thirty-second window which the cards information is not encrypted. Hackers once tapped into the system use this gateway to extract consumer 's information each time a debit or

Though technology have been a major contribution in the security of people’s money, it has also been used as a tool for internet hacking and identity theft. Since the invention of computers and the internet, it has been common today for people to constantly upgrade their security systems. With major bank companies, it has been made easier to make payments with the slide of a card. However, because of technology, it has also been made easier for hackers to rob people of their money and personal information. As of recent years, there have been a major increase of online shopping as it is extremely convenient for a lot of people. And as convenient online shipping may be, it is also one of the causes for stealing credit card information. People are able to make fake websites and steal a person’s credit card info. And with advanced computers it is not required to repeatedly input a credit card’s number as it can be automatically saved, but the drawback of this
ATM: ATM is a physical embed-in device which is to be installed on the wall as part of the supporting infrastructure, despite of the fact that is unmovable, it is possible that any third party scam devices is installed on the it by an intruder, such device includes hidden camera, fake PIN pads and card skimmers. These data collection devices can retrieve your personal private information quickly if you trigger them by the way they want.
When you are in an ATM use your free hand to shield someone from seeing the numbers you are punching into the keypad.
If the person throws away the receipt in a trash can near the ATM, the shoulder surfer can match the PIN with an account number and then create a fake ATM card. Often shoulder surfers use binoculars or high-powered telescopes to observe PINS being entered, making it difficult to protect against this attack.
This is not a new technology but it is a new implementation. Credit card companies and banks have also started active monitoring of all accounts to catch fraudulent transactions sooner. In some cases, they are able to catch the transaction before they are complete or even deny them on the spot. They have also implemented advance security measurements like tokenization and 3D secure. “Tokenization replaces sensitive data with a randomly generated string of characters, so it reduces the risk associated with data breach”. 3D secure “is an additional security layer that helps with fraud prevention in debit and credit card transactions”
Cash trapping: the thief attaches a devise to the ATM to capture the bills that the AMT dispenses. You leave and the thief comes back and retrieve your cash.
Adding a facial recognition software on ATM will protect customers against identity theft and fraudulent transactions. The software is able to capture a customer’s face and
There are also ATM’s in every corner you see. Identity thieves are becoming more technological. They can steal your credit and debit card information just by inserting your card when you pay or want to use the ATM. One way they can steal your credit card information without you even realizing is using a Skimmer device. According to pcmag.com, “Skimmers are essentially malicious card readers that grab the data off the card's magnetic strip attached to the real payment terminals so that they can harvest data from every person that swipes their cards.” Identity thieves can place these skimmers in any ATM or credit card reader and they don’t prevent them from functioning properly. Some places this could happen are at gas stations, outdoor ATM’s, or grocery stores. Some tips for chances to avoid a skimmer are to use cash whenever possible. Some indoor ATM’s are safer than outdoor ones. . The ATMs inside banks are generally safer because of all the cameras. It would be unlikely for thieves to install a skimmer inside a bank with all the cameras inside the
This business is aimed at finding new solutions for the card swapping and pursuing the planning for less risk of the PIN code theft. The Card owner will issue the Thumb Scanner code at the start of the working. Four various market segments have been identified by Smarthumb as they will be more interested in the smarthumb (Kale & Nanda, 2014b). These are the most important segments of markets including,
ATM machines with exorbitant fees have been thought to be acting as highway robbers, now they may even have a thieving companion; Card scanners. By stealing the information off the credit card as it is swiped the consumer is not even aware they have been attacked. Even if the consumer is careful to hide their hand as they enter the PIN in order to withdraw money from an ATM, the larcenist might still have a hidden camera or card reader to steal the card information. Erin Lowry, a content director for a popular magazine was a victim of two different attacks on her credit identity; she had $600 stolen from her account after using a shady ATM with a hidden scanner inside. The use of a low security ATM is a consumer error, but with everyday stresses sometimes common sense is abandoned in place of convenience. Larcenists will place these scanners inside ATM’s located in low socioeconomic areas with the intent to instantly copy the card numbers onto an embedded micro storage
Biometric technology offers an alternative to the most used system currently in place in most operations: passwords or personal identification numbers (PIN). Instead of users inputting their password or PIN, users interact with a computer terminal that will scan their finger, face, voice, retina, etc. to identify them. Many of the next generation personal computer systems will have integrated biometric technology so that no external hardware is needed. In the mean time, users can buy small peripherals, like a mouse with integrated biometric technology or a small finger terminal for finger scans, to secure their personal computers.
Customer Needs- Security systems are required by people to0 keep their homes safe, it gives them a sense of safety for their personal belongings, when they are away from their home.
