For my informative speech, I wanted to pick a topic that I was familiar with but also wanted to know more about. I came to the conclusion to do my speech over child development. I thought it would be interesting because I am taking a class over child development and my future career is going to be early childhood education and elementary education. (Q.1.) The early foster system was established in the 1500s in order to care for children who were removed from their parents. Foster care was intended to be a short-term solution until the child is either adopted or reunited with their family. However, the average child will spend over two years waiting to be adopted. But the flaws in this system run much deeper from mental disorders all the way to human trafficking. human trafficking through the foster system is a dire problem that can not be neglected. Today i will be sharing with you through three points; the problem, the pressure( that these kids are under) and the promise(of a better future).

Thesis/Central Idea: To understand that there are many parents raising their children alone with no help at all. Many single parents have different circumstances that cause them to raise their children by themselves. Being a single parent is not easy there are good days and bad days and most single parents must make it through no matter what. Dreamer, that’s the term that identifies me and many other people. What do Dreamers mean? Individuals in the U.S. who were brought to the country at an early age without documentation, but are protected by the Development,Relief, and Education for Alien Minors aka DREAM Act. The Dream Act was created by the President Barack Obama during June 15, 2012. To become a Dreamer you have to be 15 and above to fill up a form in order to see if you are eligible to become a “Dreamer”.
