Writing a synthesis essay is not easily. It is different than the previous essay I had written because the synthetic article requires me to have more experience in my life, and I have the flexibility to view. As the source of Baca, Rodriguez, Fatima, and the film Quinceanera, they have shown a lot of their experiences, especially the experiences of immigrants. Through this article gave me a lot of experience in life, I was seeing myself in the past even though they and I have different the language, culture, family, and knowledge. Besides, I also learned how to write a synthesis essay. When I reread the stories and picked the relevant issues, it helped me to understand the psychological, circumstances of writers and characters in their stories.

Anazaldua's personal take adds a rawness to the issues at heart. As a reader we are put in her shoes because of the great amount of detail and emotion she weaves in. She is not on the outside looking in discussing problems she has noticed. She is discussing what is and has been her reality, something she has dealt with while growing up. She incorporates Spanish into the text which really amplifies her narrative. I think the order in which she presents her text was wise and influential in presenting her
The song "La Chicharonera" was sung by Narciso Martinez in 1936. The song was a big hit and that's how Martinez's career started with instant success. Some of the example of his classic song tunes include "La Chicaronera," "La Prrita," "La Polvadera," and "Los Coyotes" (Harris Craig). All of the tunes were solo performance of Martinez but,
This assignment was somewhat challenging for me, however I felt as though this type of essay was the easiest for me to write because all of the information was right in front of me. These types of essays require you to synthesis sources and then write an essay about them. This means that the writer must look at a certain number of sources and determine the relationships that they have with the prompt and with each other. After they do this they must write a well-developed essay about those relationships. Some of my strengths in terms of the synthesis essay include being able to quickly read through the sources, determine the main points of my essay based on the sources, and being able incorporate the sources into my writing

Rodríguez was for many years known to be the only woman legally hanged in Texas. People think to be the daughter of Pedro Rodríguez, she moved with her father to San Patricio de Hibernia, Texas, and for several years after Rodríguez's death furnished travelers with meals on the porch of her lean-to shack on the Aransas River. When Cotton Road traveler John Savage was killed with an ax, because he had $600 in gold which he had been carrying, Chipita was accused of robbery and murder. Recovery of the gold from the Aransas River north of San Patricio, where the body was found in a burlap bag, raised substantial doubt about the motive for the crime, but Josefa Rodriguez and Juan Silvera were indicted on circumstantial evidence. After Chipita
Before European explorers found their way to the Americas the countries were populated by indigenous people native to the landscapes. Each indigenous tribe had their own traditions, language and hierarchy. It is difficult to discern the exact population numbers of indigenous people before their exposure to Europeans in 1492; however, scholars estimate their numbers at roughly 37 million. By 1650, their population had dwindled to an estimated 9 million individuals, a decrease of 90%. In North America there are currently 562 federally recognized tribes. Joe “Indian Joe” Lightfoot Gonzales, also known as Narisco Allalha, is a descendent of one of the remaining Native American tribes, the Choctaw.

In the “Memoir of a Basque Lieutenant Nun” by Catalina de Erauso, one can see the difficult life on the frontier. For instance, it is shown that many of the soldiers needed to eat, drink, and sleep in their own armors. This indicates not only the discomfort one suffer on the frontier, but also the danger of the war where one must always ready. Moreover, the life here was an unstable life where one could die at any moment. In fact, according to Catalina de Erauso, many of the soldiers, captain, and even her lieutenant were killed in the last battle. It seems that one of the main reasons for this came from the lack of supply that Catalina and her companion found unease. Furthermore, the description of the chasing down for the flag through the
“Aria,” by Richard Rodriguez took his life as an example of on how the bilingual system takes effect on people just like him. He puts his life as an example to show that if the bilingual system actually works, by walking us through his life experiences growing up from an immigrant, family not knowing English, but later developing the language and noticing that he gained something valuable, he also lost something important in return. Rodriguez believes that the bilingual educational system takes “a degree of individuality” from children,(19) also explaining why his tone changes towards the end of the article. The way Rodriguez used his personal life as a personal credibility for the bilingual education, although he does not provide logical appeals which show facts that the majority think what he believes, he uses his personal life as piece of research.
Yet the struggle of identities continues, the struggle of borders is still our reality. While discussing the rhetorical analysis of this essay I had an epiphany. The purpose of this essay is what troubled me most. Was she just writing to write or was she just a creative writer? After one hour of discussion it hit me, the feelings that me and my class mates where encountering was it. Nearly all of us came into the discussion annoyed and impatient. We were unwilling to analyze the essay because we where enraged by the fact that it was not completely in English. All but a few who understood Spanish where irritated because to the paper was not converted to what we wanted it to be. How dare she write a paper and expect us to read in when it isn’t in perfect complete English. I then discovered that all of our anger and annoyances were her point or purpose. She wanted to make us feel how she felt. Every day she was criticized on how she spoke and wrote. One side wanted only English while the other only wanted Spanish. When in reality she knew both therefore wanted to use both intermittently. Every time she was corrected she was annoyed and discourage. As each and every one of us read the paper we were all annoyed by the fact that it wasn’t in the language we wanted. We thought that because
In Bajadas, the writer, Francisco Cantu, makes several choices that a regular high school student or incoming college student would believe is wrong or different for what they learned back in high school. To begin with, the writer of the essay uses first person point of view and is written as a journal entry. In high school, teachers teach you to use “I” less often, but in Bajadas, Cantu wants to show his audience that his essay is alive and not dead and boring like the five-paragraph structure. He writes his essay more like a nonfictional novel, telling his own story; his essay is like a journal entry to make his writing more interesting and to catch the reader's attention. Furthermore, he wants to let his audience know what he’s trying to
