Just like any Gladiator, you must stay in shape. Jog, Run, Walk, Lift, but do some Physical exercise to stay focused and fit enough to withstand the rigors of travel, stress and bad dietary or life decisions we all seem to make. Work the hours, work smart and forget the clock No short cuts, reports- fill them out; fill them out on time and completely, accurately Be the Early worm- Lombardi time; never be late to a meeting, a presentation, any function. Tardiness is first a show of disrespect to all who were called to and agreed to a specific meeting time. Show up 20 minutes late to an NFL game and it is deep into the second quarter. Back your boss- even the scriptures say we must follow the rules set forth by the rulers and those edicts are sometimes hard to follow and accept. Until the boss breaks the law, tells an untruth about you that is blatant and meant to cause you pain, and even then it is your job to make the boss or Gladiator owner/trainer look good. …show more content…

Most often due to jealousy or paranoia. You will experience these weak, shallow and untalented people. DO NOT BE SURPRISED-DO NOT DISPAIR. Be forewarned other Gladiators will scheme against you. You will no doubt get nicked up, injured and maybe spill a little blood (an analogy people) but the key is to stay alive. Spartacus must fight again tomorrow and so must you to make tomorrows calls tomorrows
Like anything else, these shows were often times politically based to gain support for an Emperor. Aside from this they made for great entertainment to divert ones thoughts away from everyday troubles. What a better way than to see masses of people brutally slaughtered. In reality and the movie alike, the gladiators wore crude armor, not of military status to depict the difference in class. Nonetheless they were equipped with the armor and
Gladiators were mostly unfree individuals either condemned criminals, prisoners of wars who had lost their citizenship rights, although, some of them were volunteers who were mostly freedmen or very low classes of freeborn men who chose to be a slave for monetary rewards or for the fame. Gladiators were brought for the purpose of gladiatorial combat and would endure branding, chains, flogging or death by the sword and subjected to a rigorous training, fed on a high-energy diet, and given expert medical attention. Gladiators were famously popular in ancient from for seven centuries, from the 3rd century BC to the 4th century AD fairly late in the Public occupied a prominent position in roman society, they would fight in massive
To be early, is to be on time, to be on time, is to be late, and to be late, is out of the question. Being able to adhere to a given deadline in a group situation, demonstrates responsibility, time management, group cohesion, and progress. However, being that a group is a collection of individuals with separate lives, there are times when members of the group may be experiencing extenuating circumstances preventing the group from completing a task on time. In such a scenario, communication within the chain of command is essential. Failing to communicate problems that may arise, and inhibit group progression towards a task will result in failure to communicate the task, group division, distrust between the chain of command and the group,
The entire Spartan society revolved around the army, essentially making it the key aspect of Spartan life and culture. The army influenced areas such as education and social structure as well as being the most important defence of Sparta in both combat and reputation.
For example you are told to be at work at 0900 work call, you are supposed to be there at 0850. But, you may ask, how does me not being at 0630 formation on Fort Hood for PT put other people’s lives in danger? Well, it doesn’t. But, making being on time, or even a bit early, a habit can help when you eventually do end up down range and you need to be on time for a mission. Civilians are also expected to be at their right place at the right time. The only difference is being on time is on time in the civilian world. If work is at 10:00 then as long as it’s not 10:01, then you are in the clear. Showing people you can be on time not only shows you have discipline, but you respect for your superior leaders. Punctuality shows that you are responsible, trustworthy and can follow directions. Punctuality isn't just an order that the Army requires, but also a good personal trait that is a reflection of a person’s character, it shows that you have personal integrity and self-discipline. While some of us are occasionally late due to circumstances beyond our control, habitual tardiness shows a lack of respect for other people and their time. If someone is late continually that shows that they more than likely do not care about what their NCO tells them. Nobody wants to depend on a person that can’t even simply show up for a formation that is held every day at the same time and place. In basic accountability and being on time was strongly instilled in us
In the United States Military, tardiness is unacceptable. I could write this essay and fill it with excuses as to why I was late, but the fact of the matter is that there is no excuse. Being on time is very important. When I am late it makes everyone else run behind which then makes all the soldiers eat late and have to wait. And food is a very vital part of the army. The soldiers need their fuel in order better perform at their duty. Not to mention that when everything is running behind and then we all have to end up staying later than we would have had to in the first place. It makes the whole day very hectic and then people get irratated easy. It would make things run much smoother if everyone was on time all the time.
Tardiness is not tolerated in the military. It reflects inattention to duty. In addition to being extremely impolite, on active duty, it is punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Never keep a senior officer waiting because of your forgetfulness or lack of planning. If an unexpected event delays you, call ahead and give an explanation. The same rule applies to appointments and meetings you have arranged with subordinates. Don’t keep them waiting. If your subordinates think of you as a "latecomer," you have not set a good example for them.
The importance of being on time is that so you will be early to where ever you need to be, and what ever you need to do. If you are early you will always have time to make sure everything that you need to do is straight and there aren’t n e errors in what you need to do.
When it comes to the military certain things are automatically expected of a person. One of the most important expectations is time management and being on time. Every day there are any number of places a soldier is required to be at a certain time and as the old saying goes, “if you’re not fifteen minutes early, you’re late no matter the situation.” Some soldiers understand the importance of showing up fifteen minutes prior to an event or scheduled activity. To others, it makes no sense at all. Extreme as it may sound, when dealing with the number of people that
As the famous bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, “Training gives us an outlet for suppressed energies created by stress and thus tones the spirit just as exercise conditions the body.” During my 3 years of training, I learned much about what it takes to make an out of shape person to a healthy and fit person with just the right decisions and knowledge. For instance, I learned the importance of consistency, in which in order to be actively fit and healthy, there must be consistency. As a young fitness fanatic, I
This is actually factual as for gladiators were actually trained under their managers, tested and marked for purchases. The purposes of a gladiator were not to fight in wars or battles but to battle against each other, animals and beasts solely for public entertainment in the ancient Rome. The portrayal of gladiators’ status in the Roman society as well as their roles for bloody thirsty and violent entertainment in the film is displayed true to the ancient Rome.
On top of that, you let your co-workers/comrades down when you do not show up on time to work. When you fail to show up on time, you’re causing your peers to have to do your work as well as their own. This can cause the mission for the day to be slowed down dramatically. When the mission is slowed down this can cause your leaders to fail at meeting deadlines that may be needed to be met at a specific time in order to meet other deadlines on missions that may be more important than wondering why you are late...
It is important to be on time for everything, but it is extremely important to be on time at your place of duty. There are are countless reasons to be on time at your work place. The main reasons are professionalism, dependability, and it builds success. Another reason it is important to be on time is that it shows that you have a sense of responsibility and take your obligations towards others seriously. Being late to work not only affects you but it can also affect your co-workers/battle buddies. Showing up on time shows that you are a valued asset. These select things can help you see why being on time is a highly important thing in the place of duty, and many other aspects of your life. No one likes to be sittng there, waiting for
At the same time, being on time may influence substantially interpersonal relations and it is a perfect characteristic of an individual. In this respect it should be said that if a person is late, it is a bit irritating, but if he/she is late regularly, than it is quite a disturbing fact. On the one hand, it proves that this person do not really respect those people who are waiting for him/her. On the other hand, it proves that this person is absolutely irresponsible because being late means that the person is unable to do his/her duties well. In contrast, being on time proves that the person is highly responsible and is ready to fulfill his/her duty without delay.
The Roman Army The Roman army is still admired today by historians and many others alike. How far advanced technologically the Romans were over 2000 years ago still amazes many people today. They built roads that a still used today, their baths are still admired with many still standing and much of today's archaeology dates back to Roman and Greek principals. The Roman army itself was the most feared army of that period and it too is a cause of fascination.
