I am interning at Pittsburgh Mercy’s Behavioral Health Service Coordination Unit (PMBH-SU). The unit serves 500-700 clients (consumers), and includes six teams. Each team includes a supervisor and 10-to-15 service coordinators (SC) and aids a specific population, such as adults, adolescents, and children. Additionally, all service coordinators’ clients have a mental health illness(s) diagnosis. PMBH-SCU provides outpatient services and individualized supportive services to clients of the Pittsburgh Mercy Health System. Employees in this unit typically obtained a social work or human services education or related professional experiences. Moreover, from my interactions and conversations with supervisors and service coordinators, the measurement of client satisfaction is becoming increasingly popular because of its role in quality assurance continuous quality improvement systems. Thus, it is important to evaluate the effectiveness of SCs’ involvement since they are the primary professionals involved during the duration of clients’ hospitalization and until recovery from a mental health crisis reports as accomplished. The current research will be a cross-sectional study using data collected at a single point. This design will measure the attitudes and experiences of consumers. In practice, the study will include elements of descriptive and analytical. Using this method, a random sample of consumers will estimate the prevalence of satisfied consumers receiving services from January 1, 2015, to January 1, 2016 at PMBH-SCU. Additionally, cross-sectional approach will allow the study to investigate the association between consumer satisfaction and the effectiveness service coordinators. This research will be implemented on February 20, 2016. Thus, participating consumers’ length of services must fill between a year, and (or) approaching termination.
