Today was my first day at the Port Human Services Facility Base Crisis (FBC) Unit in Greenville N.C. Today I was shadowing Trudy Sheppard, who is a master’s level social worker who is employed by Port Human Services (FBC) Unit. Trudy and I discussed patient rights, patient obligations, and FBC Unit’s policy and procedures. We also met with the unit’s supervisor and discussed what I will be doing while on the FBC Unit. I was informed that I would be involved in the patient admittance process. I was informed that I would also be conducting patient interviews, assessments, assisting with patient treatment plans, aftercare plans, and substance abuse counseling as well. Also, I will be transporting clients with the company vehicle as well as the

Due to the lack of funds the majority of the employees had to be laid off, the English teacher and the parenting class teacher had to be let go, also they had to move Mobile from Semmes. Because of this changes the number of individuals the agency can serves has become lower, the agency relies on volunteers to help with the interpretation in medical appointments. (S. While on the agency, the intern’s job was to schedule appointments, interpretate in medical appointments every Monday and Wednesday at the women health center, or at other via phone with medical appointments and governmental interviews the rest of the days. I conducted an in person interview at Deaconess Cross Pointe, 7200 East Indiana Street; Evansville, Indiana 47715. I interviewed Natalie Goffinett, who has achieved her Master’s Degree in Social Work, and counsel’s children and families at that facility. When setting the appointment to interview Ms. Goffinett, I offered her the option to conduct the interview either in person or over the telephone. Ms. Goffinett and I agreed that an in person interview would be best if I wanted to have the opportunity to tour the facilities, as well as develop a sense for inpatient and outpatient environments. Deaconess Cross Pointe is a
Everyone has their first memory when they have to enter the adult world, mine just happened to be my junior year of high school. This year was just a little glimpse of what was going to be the rest of my life. Getting my first job was bitter sweet. I had to learn how to manage my time between school, sports, and now a job. After my first week of school I had to start my new job.
As teenager, many people say their adolescence is one of the most important phases in anyone’s life. As a teenager, you get to experience many great events like going to high school football games, dating your first boyfriend or girlfriend, getting your driver license, and graduating from high school. As I look back, I believe that getting my first job was the most important event in my adolescence. I was very enthusiastic about getting my first job. I enjoyed that fact that I will be able to earn my own money and not having to ask my mother for any earn. Surprising, there was only one obstacle that was holding me back and that was the fact that I was a
SOCIAL SUPPORT: Client continues to complain why DHS didn’t submit her housing package to this shelter. She also states that this worker is mental health and she doesn’t have any mental health disorder to be placed in a SRO. Client also threatened to this worker to call 311, DHS advocate and the Coalition. As she quotes:” is not about you or CAMBA, I am doing this because DHS have all of my information”.
I: CM guided client through ISP goals. CM inquired about updates related to the client’s housing goals. CM used open ended questions to inquired about the client most recent drug use. CM reminded client that starting Monday the 2nd he would have to meet with CCM for weekly case management going forward. CM continued to assess for PTSD symptoms, substance abuse, and medication compliance.
On September 21, 2015, I met with Ms. Katie, a student in the MSW program at NCSU, to conduct an interview. We met at Starbucks in Cary, in the crossroads shopping center. Ms. Katie’s responses helped me learn and think about social workers in the child welfare social field. As a prospective social worker, my questions were formed based thoughts that I was concerned about my responsibilities in the social work field..
You are going to be a mentor for a new social care worker as part of their induction process. Part of your role is to help them prepare for the review after their probation period.
The Circle Center has two social workers, Jay Burkhardt and Erin Brunette. I interviewed Erin Burnette January 30, 2017 in her office at The Circle Center. When I first walked into her office, I noticed how clean and neat it was which was surprising to me because I always imagined a social worker’s office to be unorganized with files everywhere. As I looked around I noticed pictures of her family and historical pictures, leaving me under the impression that she was a strong advocate for human rights. From the looks of her room, I assumed that having pictures of her family in her helps her keep stress at a minimum while at work. Erin Burnette, from Knoxville, Tennessee moved to Richmond in 1999 to attend Virginia Commonwealth University where she received her master in social work. Erin also has a master of divinity from Baptist Seminary at Richmond. With her master of divinity, Erin served as a Hospice Chaplain for ten years. As of today, she withholds sustainable credibility due to her Erin’s social work career began in the year of 2004 but she feels that she has been involved with social work her entire life. During our interview, Erin explained why she chose social work, she says that her parents and her

Second I wanted to tell you that the people at your facility are first class. My direct report was CSO De La O and he was honest and fair with us. I can't imagine on a daily basis what it would be to deal with us however he did
When I was a kid, I couldn’t wait until I was old enough to get a job. Sure, it would be a good way to make friends and learn how to prepare myself for the real world, but for me, it was mostly about making my own money. Having to ask my parents for cash every time I needed some annoyed me, mostly because they’d always say no. Every time they did, I would always whine and complain about how different things would be when I had money of my own, how I would never ask them for anything, and so on. This wasn’t entirely true, but at the time it seemed like a smart thing to say. I must’ve applied to dozens of jobs, and when I finally got the email telling
During my first day of clinical, I met with my clinical instructor and my classmates in the lobby around 2:15 p.m. The goal was to take a tour of the facility and get acquainted with the staff. The lobby was warm and inviting, with wood floors and comfortable furniture. It was also busy with clients being discharged or coming in for the initial intake. One client, in particular, was sitting behind me wearing handcuffs along with two police escorts. The client gave an impression of being stable while sitting there. It seemed as if he was coming from Baylor Hospital. Nurses from other facilities were there filling out paperwork and checking in their patients. Family members were also there picking up their loved ones. The clients were escorted by mental health technicians, to ensure the safety of the client. On many occasions, mental health technicians provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Their primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and activities of daily living.
