Whether Female antagonists within fairy tales are portrayed in a positive or negative light their roles within the stories are very important if not crucial to the development of the protagonists. Karen Rowe in “Feminist and fairy tales” explains the divide between different female antagonists. Female antagonist come in all forms, Faeries, ogresses, evil queens, and evil witches step mothers and or step sisters. For the most part these characters are often divided between good and evil, or light and dark, but what is often realized, is that there isn’t much of a combination between the two groups in which an antagonist falls in between both categories. In this essay I will lay out the thematic roles of these different types of female antagonist’s portrayed within fairy tales.
When Bella learns her uncle vanished the same day she and her mother fled from her father’s abuse, she enlists her new love, Eli, to help her uncover the many mysteries of Able Manor.
She opens the door to her childhood, beginning with when she was 3 years old and boiling her own hot dog by standing on top of the chair to reach the stovetop. While doing that, her pink dress catches on the fire because of which gets her horribly burned. She spends a few days in the hospitals and enjoys it too, because she is getting food on time and is not left starving. One day her dad shows up and they run off out of the hospital without paying the bills of her treatment. That night her family leaves the town and move to another place, taking as much stuff as possible with them. Most of her childhood memories involve her whole family- mom, dad, Jeanette, Lori, Brian, and later on Maureen -moving from one desert towns to another, settling in as long as her dad can hold the job. This happened more frequently due to the dad’s alcoholism coupled with his paranoia about the organized society and the state. One of the towns they stayed in was Battle Mountain, Nevada, where they spend a few months. Jeanette and her brother Brian spent many hours exploring the desert and collecting rocks. Even their mother got a job as a teacher and
The setting starts out at the Edward's family house on Greenleaf Rd in Stanwich Connecticut. Then due to finding out the news that her father only has three months to live they set out on the road to their vacation house on the lake in Pennsylvania. Their house is in a small town called Lake Phoenix in the sunny Poconos mountains. The plot is effected cause at the lake house the family which is normally busy and always running in different directions gets to spend the little time they have left together. Also, the main character Taylor Edward gets to face some major things she ran away from five summers before. Now at their rustic lake house it’s all in front of her and she can’t run anymore.
Another important scene in the book is when Bella goes to Port Angeles with Jessica and Angela to help them pick out dresses and to also get a new book. She gets lost on her way back to meet her friends for dinner. Lost with four men are following her, Edward comes out of nowhere to rescue her. He fishtails around a corner and stops with the passenger door open next to Bella. He tells her to talk about something random to distract him from going back to kill Bella’s stalkers. After he rescues Bella, he takes her to dinner, where Bella interrogates Edward about how he knew where she was. The car ride home from Port Angeles is another scene where the movie’s timeline differs from the book. During the car ride Bella tells Edward her theories about him (Meyers 161). Her theories are built on the story she learned from an old tribe legend Jacob told her when they meet on the beach, revealing that she knows Edward is a vampire (183). This begins a new period in their relationship, where they trade off days asking one another questions about everything. The next day, they go on a hike up the mountain to Edward’s favorite spot, the meadow. He shows Bella why he and his family cannot be seen in the sunlight, being that his skin sparkles in the light. Edward then shows her what he is capable by using his
Porter begins the story with Miranda and her brother Paul exploring a graveyard while out hunting. As they continue with their hunt, Paul shoots a rabbit that is about to give birth. Paul proceeds to carefully slit the dead rabbit open revealing her young unborn babies. This moment is an epiphany for young Miranda as she understands the meaning of rebirth and the cycle of life and death. Miranda later reflects upon this incident years later in a foreign city’s busy bazaar and is reminded of the event that transformed her from an innocent child to a more experienced and knowledgeable young woman.
For Miranda her biggest worries were her friend’s Megan and Sammi, and if Brandon Erlich was going to win gold at the next Olympics games for ice-skating. Miranda knew trouble at a young age, when her friend Becky died after a lifelong sickness, her death changed Megan into becoming closer with God, and for Sammi to realize how short life is, and to live it up while she can. With an injury that made her drop out of skating, Miranda switch to swimming, hoping that one day she will be able to go back to skating, and be couch by the same person who taught Brandon Erlich. With all this, Miranda at age sixteen was ready to see some change. Standing with her mother and little brother, Jonny, they watch as what was supposed to be a meteor hitting

home. In that amount of time, Liz’s mother died of aids, and her father left Liz and Lisa, her sister. They had been staying with their uncle at the time. However, their uncle was abusive to them so
To start to explain Bellatrix you must know she aims to please her father first because how he see's her is very important to her self worth. If he looks down upon her it makes her feel very bad and she cannot have that, she acts as though it does not affect her but it really does. You would not know it because she is a very good actress at being cold and emotionless on the outside but the inner turmoil is like a raging storm of emotions that comes out mostly as a vicious anger. One that is pinpointed and directed at whomever is in her way, other than her sister Andromeda. Andromeda is her weakness. She loves her in an obsessive way. She is her everything and while there is no love spared for most anything, maybe respect like with her parents
I believe Mr. Lincoln is a good father towards his sons. Between everything that's happening to the country and his job, he always left some time to care for his family. Mr. Lincoln deeply loves his sons and wanted them to get the best in life. For instance, when Willie died, Mr. Lincoln was filled with sorrow and sadness. He couldn't help himself from breaking down and crying. Mr. Lincoln is a good father who always found time for his family and took care of them no matter the circumstances. The reason Bella wondered if her father loved her like Mr. Lincoln loved his boys was because her father was as protective and loving towards her as Mr. Lincoln was to his sons. Before Bella's mother died, Bella's father didn't spend time with her as much
From a plane ride to a drive to a boat ride; Edward took Bella to an island. Where they started their honeymoon. Bella entered the bathroom to freshen herself up where she decided the clothing her new sister Alice packed was too racy she walked out in
