To best support Antawn in his treatment goals he will be participating in daily recreational activities on and off of the unit. These goals will aide Antawn with increasing his ability to appropriately socialize with his peers, build healthy relationships and increase his current level of functioning. Antawn continues to require lots of support in order to successfully maintain positive relationships in the community and to develop coping skills to help him deal with his feeling of sadness These recreation programs are designed to enhance his experience while he engages in treatment. Recreational events are also a great place for him to improve his physical health and build friendships with other children currently in the program. Antawn

Constructing a treatment and service plan for a client involves various components. Prior to starting a treatment plan the professional should carry out a client evaluation. The evaluation should determine the basis of the difficulty or issues and assess the back ground of the client. After the completion of the evaluation, a professional can start constructing an agreement to fulfill the needs of the client. The treatment plan should include goals that relate to the difficulties and issues the client is experiencing, this assessment will discuss the components of Mr. McCunes personalized treatment program.

Everyday so many people are conflicted with injuries that may or may not change their life and find themselves in need of someone to help them to get back on their feet. Recreational therapists are that someone who will be a shoulder for anyone to lean on that needs a little extra support, both figuratively and literally. Every day Recreational therapists are working hard to help people get their life back on track. The mental drive to help people is a big part of what makes this job so incredibly appealing. Recreational therapists must be supportive and patient and kind in order for the treatments to be effective in keeping the patients' happy and feeling taken care of. Being a go getter is such a big part of being
Upon establishing a therapeutic alliance and building rapport, Adam was insightful in identifying treatment goals for therapy. Stressing the recovery model, Adam and I, were determine to set reachable goals that were attainable during short-term therapy consisting of 12, one hour, weekly sessions.

The services that are provided to the patient, its family and other significant individuals connected to the patient are strictly provided with a goal of meeting the complete needs of a patient. Sports and other physical activities help build other important life skills like courage, friendship/teambuilding, and problem solving skills. Not only do the members make new friends but as I volunteer myself I have met plenty of interesting people while helping out with the program. The foundation cares about their members very much and have several projects to help the disadvantaged like UNIFY that helps “increases athletic and leadership opportunities for students with and without intellectual disabilities, while creating communities of acceptance for all.” There are many great opportunities provided to get involved with this program because they want everyone involved including the disabled as well as the community. It is also a great way to get your high school sports teams some volunteer hours or if your club wants to help out in your community SONM is a great place and they welcome all the help they can
In Kenneth, Jr.’s situation, he was allowed to look at magazines and watch television due to his low cognitive abilities. Interventions provided during this service: Individual rehab services were provided. WYP discussed with the client about the CSP objectives. The client is being compliant with his mother (talking to her more, coming home before curfew, going to school, and understanding his mother better), the client is using his copping skills (basketball, deep breathing, and exercising) to decrease his irritable outbursts (throwing objects, yelling, and foul languages), the client's has improved his independent living skills (taking care of his son, going to school, working with his stepfather, playing basketball, and doing chores). WYP assisted the client with practicing his coping skills by randomly commanding the client to use one of his coping skills.
My favorite model of Therapeutic Recreation is the Health Protection/Health Promotion Model because it focuses on enhancing the health and overall well-being of clients. Educating clients on the importance of this model will enable patients to have a better understanding of the topic. When clients are healthy, they interact with the recreational therapist and suggest activities that are intrinsically motivating for their psyche. Clients who are in poor health will be subjected to prescriptive activities by the recreational therapist to assist with their recovery and to achieve optimal health.
Each of our treatment programs are designed with one objective in mind: set all of our patients firmly on the road to recovery. We do this with intensive individual and group therapy sessions.
