We live in a world with ever-growing health care needs. As many national studies have shown, the health care industry is projected to become one of the fastest growing industries worldwide by the time we reach 2020 A.D. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, it is believed that the health care industry is expected to overtake state and local government by the number of jobs added per year. But why is this occurring? One reason is there has been an increase in the national average life expectancy. Over the past several years, these studies have shown data which provides evidence that the average human in 2015 is living longer than those just a few years ago. With life expectancy increasing, there is a greater need for care over an individuals’ life time. Secondly, the generation which many call “baby boomers”, are beginning to retire. Not only will these retirees have the potential need for additional care but companies also need to find new workers who can replace their aging workforce. Both of these circumstances can cause a shortage of staff in the medical field.
