Marina thanks for posting such a truthful and relatable post this week! I agree that this is all easier to type out and talk about than to actually use it in daily worklife. I feel that there are multiple things I can try to do at work to follow these principles more closely. For example, I feel that I can start to incorporate Biblical stewardship by my actions towards others as well as my work in itself. This can be easily done by having integrity in my work. I think often it is so easy to cut corners and while no one might see the impact until much later when it is found we have truly tarnished our image as a Christian. If coworkers are skeptical about God or religion and we present both in a negative image we are doing a large disfavor to
The principles are for continual growth and elevation for Christians. The instructions in The Bible are not only for guidance is a comforting and strengthening agent. Given this statistic, this could be an additional reason why God created mankind in His image to take part in on other wonderful helpful contributions. Highlighting the difference between a secular worldview and a biblical worldview, the incorporation of belief and doctrine, theories of vocation and efforts for living righteously is proven to be an influential lifesaving
As a church we have misappropriated the level of judgement dispensed. We understand that all have sinned and that true discipleship requires accountability and discipline, however, the indubitable level must be delivered in a humble and nonjudgemental manner. We must realize the greatest impact for change is empathy, compassion and action. The only way to ensure the action is effective, one must first hear what the people feel as though their issues are. Next we must remove ourselves from a hypocritical place of judgement so that we can full understand and
A couple people may trust that leaders are considered and a couple people may feel that leaders are made. I envision that leaders lead their gathering from his or her potential outcomes and learning. Because of the Apostle Paul, God as a fruitful pioneer, a man that is known how to direct and is devoted to his or her run, picked him. As pioneers, we are vessels. On the off chance that we will be viable, our energy needs to surpass our Magnitude, be the vessel that floods with eagerness and fervor for your vision. The way to Paul 's self-way of life as a pioneer was his part as a messenger (Smith, 2014). The way to that part was the way that it was a celestial arrangement and that it included a mission instructed, and empowered by God and represented by the Spirit of God (Smith, 2014). An approach to consider 'authority ' as the way toward attracting individuals together to impact and "lead" them in a specific bearing (frequently to fulfill a specific errand). On the off chance that this is the thing that we mean by 'administration ', Paul was absolutely a pioneer (Smith, 2014).
Valerie I agree that it is wise to have faith in God even from a business standpoint. It is often hard in today’s society though to put God first in the decision making. I remember back in 2012 when Chick-fil-A was going through a hard time because one of the chief operating officers (Dan Cathy) made a remark about opposing same-sex marriage. He has his right to state an opinion but having friends that are lesbian and gay I had to side with my friends. The remarks seemed to come from a place of hate and he offended so many people by his statement. I do believe that Christians should not hide their beliefs but sometimes in a business setting one person who states an opinion could wreck the business and ultimately leave a Christian owned company
I think understanding the Bible more in depth can help to set the tone and distinguish. This alone can become a challenge for businesses on many levels. You mentioned a business incorporating an culture of inclusiveness. I found that “the latest Gallup research showed that the most engaged employees are those working in an open, fair and diverse environment. Conversely, organizations that cultivate engagement will most likely be fostering an inclusiveness culture that embraces diversity” (Hart, 2012). Fischer explains that God takes pleasure in diversity. In 1 Corinthians 12:14 (ESV) says, “For the body does not consist of one member but of many”. This pertains to you mr body having a variety of organs internally to function properly. This ties into the beauty of having diversity in the midst to obtain healthy and prosperous relationships, equally without forcing and implying beliefs, that could be offensive on other people. You mentioned as Christians to treat individuals as God will treat them. This is great to incorporate as a Christian CEO because you are able to view situations into different perspectives and not from a bias standpoint. An example would also be the Golden rule that you mentioned also in your discussion. I think this idea is great and could be effective for future
Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding why organizations fail and spirituality in the workplace. While many organizations make the claim that God is a stakeholder, these words are of non-effect unless the leader first partakes in whatever is necessary to ensure the followers share the vision and are led by example.
The author concludes that Christians are to live faithfully by the values of the bible. As members of society, we are expected to play a critical role in in our community rather than isolating ourselves from those opposed to Christian worldviews. There are ways for Christians to live out their faith, but still remain active parts in the community.
I charge you to be a spiritual community of love. You should also be a community where care and compassion abound. The ministry of care and compassion is not simply the job description of the pastor. It is the job description of this entire church. In Galatians 6:2, the Apostle Paul instructs us to “bear one another’s burdens, and in this way… fulfill the law of Christ.” In addition to caring for and showing compassion to one another, never become so insular that you fail to impact the lives of those outside the church who have no advocate, are mired in hopelessness and ravaged by injustice. Be known as a friendly church and a community church.
More the anything I truly want to preserve my faith and Gospel and at all cost avoid negative encounters.
We do our best and most excellent work, and then offer it to him to go beyond our work and to change a child’s heart to have faith, to restore parents back into unity, and to bring peace to homes filled with strife. A great leader is a dependent leader.
“There is no longer a Christian mind” and there lays the problem. The reason it’s difficult to integrate a biblical worldview into business is because too many Christian do religion. Religion is centered on rules, laws and traditions that are not practical to anyone outside of the religion. As we have learned business ethics are based on our morals, principles, and values however they are subjective and can be confusing. For example a young lady in my office was having a conversation with a vendor and her responses were inappropriate because of lack of training and simply immaturity. After her conversations she came to me and instead of telling her the conversation was inappropriate, I agreed with her on how she handled the call because I didn’t think she could handle or accept my correction. A week later another vendor called and she did the exact same thing. My inability to hold her up to higher standards inadvertently affects me and the organization as a whole. There lays the dilemma and the reason why the article had such an impact to
Samson, your discussion post was inspiring and I enjoy reading how you are able to invest personally with your employees. The dynamics you are creating for your small group will promote success in your organization. "Positive emotions also enhance problem-solving skills so that positive people find better solutions to problems." (Robbins & Judge, 2009, p. 267)
Cultural differences in the workplace can sometimes become a challenge in the work environment. In order to facilitate these differences, there must be some form of cultural awareness. Cultural awareness can help employees face the challenge of responding to individuals with different religions in the workplace, expose religious practices, and eliminate stereotyping in the workplace. Awareness of religions, and the beliefs associated with different religions, can be accomplished in many ways, such as training courses, workshops or company handouts (Thomas Kochan, 2003, p. 4). Companies must embrace multiculturalism and diversity.
The message of stewardship of the bible The message of stewardship in the bible is that god has given us the gift of the earth and that we have to look after it and take responsibility for it. The principle of Stewardship as one of the ten themes of Catholic Social Teaching The catholic social teachings are developed by our pope to make the message of the bible understandable to people of this day and age. In the catholic social teachings they tell us in modern language how god would want us to live our lives.
Today there are over 900 religious employee resource groups, according to the International Coalition of Workplace Ministries (Cañas & Sondak, 2010). These affinity groups can help encourage religious understanding by offering panel discussions that educate employees on their beliefs. By allowing open discussion, answering religious questions and creating an open, welcoming religious environment in the workplace employees can better relate to one another through shared religious principles (Cañas & Sondak, 2010). When looking at the business case for diversity, not asking employees to hide their faith at work allows for greater productivity, and time and energy focused on business results (Cañas
