TYPES OF TIMBERS BLACK BEAN TIMBER The black bean timber is known for to be large and tall in height and grows as tall as 40 m in height with a stem diameter to a 1.2 m. It is usually found in rainforest regions from Lismore, New South Wales to Iron Range on Cape York Peninsula. It is also found in New Caledonia and Vanuatu. The black bean has been shown to be locked in the heart of Northern Queensland in a large hardwood of rainforest through the New South Wales. The description that has been given about the black bean includes dark colour of black almost too dark to a brown, the texture include course with some figures on it. OAK-SILKY TIMBER The Oak-Silky timber starts from normal to large sized hardwood of North Queensland rainforest.
The Beanes family is traced back from Christopher Banes who was an immigrant from Scotland and started his life as a merchant and planter. Dr. William Beanes is a fourth generation Scottish man born on the 24th of January 1749 to the parents of William Beanes and Mary Bradley at Brook Ridge, a thousand acre farm near Croom, Maryland on the Patuxent River. His father was the first in his family to move to Prince Georges County. Brooke Ridge was given to his great grandmother, Anne Brooke since her brother died childless in 1671. William Beanes was one of seven children in his family (Magruder 2).
In the poem, “Snapping Beans”, by Lisa Parker, the narrator portrays a moment between herself and her grandmother sitting on a porch swing after coming home for the weekend from college. The relationship between her and her grandmother is the same as most teenagers in society today. We are very stingy to who we really talk to. The speaker does not open up to her grandmother about what really is going on in her life. Her grandmother is not a best friend or a close parent that she tells everything to. As a result, the response was just a “School’s fine” and did not go into what is really going on in her life. The speaker feels awkward and is afraid of judgement from her grandmother. The narrator uses literary devices such as imagery and diction to to help the reader understand on an emotional level of how the student may be feeling while sitting on the porch with her grandmother.
On Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017, several samples of random bean beetles were sorted by gender and size. 6 groups sorted 5 males and 5 females, making for a total of 60 bean beetles. All beetles were measured under a Dissection 3D Microscope to approximate their torso length. After this was accomplished for every beetle in every group, a large data table was compiled to compare sizes. The 10 smallest and 10 largest beetles were each placed in their own respective bean “habitat,” and 10 random beetles from the remaining pool were also placed in their own bean “habitat.” These habitats were nearly identical to avoid unnecessary variability. The goal of the experiment will be to produce significant evidence to either reject the null hypothesis that bean beetle size has no correlation with survivability as a species, or to reject the alternative hypothesis that bean beetle size has some correlation with survivability as a species.
I have always been interested in science, but the hands on experiments have helped me understand and grasp concepts much easier. I recall my first experiment in first grade when the class was given the lima bean sprout experiment, which required students to plant a bean in a paper cup. The purpose of this experiment was to teach us about photosynthesis and practice our observation skills. I recall how others were fascinated about why their sprout grew. I, on the other hand, was more captivated by why the other sprouts did not grow and the factors, which contributed to that outcome. This basic experiment taught me to look at things through different lenses and not always to the most obvious path.
The gap between the average living wage for a single adult, and the federal minimum wage is almost ten dollars. The result of which is a poor quality of life for Americans working minimum wage jobs. Often times the job flipping burgers at Mc Dicks is the only job someone can get, leaving them stuck in a loop. One of the characters that appear in Barbara Kingsolver’s, “The Bean Trees”, is Sandi, a single mother working for low pay at “Burger Derby”. She finds herself struggling to keep up, using unusual ways to keep herself afloat. Many Americans are forced to find these unconventional ways to keep themselves from drowning, something children in these families can start believing is 'the norm ' of life. The minimum wage should be raised so
Among these diverse plants is the black walnut tree. The black walnut tree is a tall tree with dark brown wood and vibrant green leaves. The black walnut tree is a deciduous tree is in the walnut family (Juglandaceae). Native to Eastern North America, the black walnut tree is a beautiful tree. Another example of this wondrous ecoregion is the Castilleja indivisa. Commonly known in Texas as the Indian paintbrush. The Castilleja is a bright red (sometimes yellow) paintbrush wildflower, and it can grow up to 16 in high. The roots of the plant will grow until they touch other plant's roots. Then, they penetrate those roots of the host and get
In Barbara Kingsolver’s “The Bean Trees” and in “Pro Femina” by Carolyn Kizer both show the significance of family, emotional support, and perseverance within women, including how women united play an important role in society! Family is an important literacy element use and effect in The Bean Trees. Taylor from Pitman Kentucky, embraces her Cherokee heritage that she inherits from her Great grandfather. Driving through Oklahoma she lands on Cherokee land, and notices how depressing it is, and decides not to stay there, as she expected better because her mom said if they ever ran out of luck, the reservation is their “ace in the hole”.
I played the bean game by myself, I did this at the school in an Eastshore classroom. I chose the items that I chose, because they represented my values, and mostly because they didn’t cost as much as other options. I was influenced by my values for the majority of options in the game. For example, instead of getting my own place, I stayed with my parents. Picking that option better fit my values because I would rather have savings when I get out of college, than I would my own place.
Today’s lab incorporated the six steps of the scientific method to the growth and development of their own Wisconsin Fast Plant, also referred to as “Brassica rapa” in the scientific community. My group’s experiment included researching the effect of acidity on seed germination. The Wisconsin Fast Plant or Brassica rapa, was originally created by Professor Paul H. Williams at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. The word Brassica can refer to many different plants such as mustard plants, cabbages, rapes, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, kale, kohlrabi, turnip, rutabaga, and the Chinese cabbage. The Brassica rapa plants were created to help provide a better understanding and more research on the Brassica plant’s family diseases. Brassica rapa plants are in the Cruciferae family, and are named this way because all of the plants have 4 flowers in the form of a crucifix.

Blackfeet is a Native American clan. This clan is very connected with nature. They love nature, and everything in it.
The purpose of this lab was to investigate and observe the effects of organic vs. synthetic fertilizers on plant growth by planting lima beans with added amounts of fertilizers, and to see how does adding different nutrients to the soil affect the growth of the lima bean? A significant difference was examined between the plants that contained manure and miracle growth, unfortunately the plant with no additional fertilizers (Plant #3) did not show any growth. The plant that grew the most was the one that contained manure, to an extent the one that grew the most in a short period of time was the one that contained miracle growth, as shown in figure I. The hypothesis explaining if the Lima Bean plant contains synthetic nutrients in the soil then
During the summer of 2016, a new statue was made to represent history. It was called the Birch statue, named after Adolpho Birch. He was the first African-American to serve the state’s chief justice. He served as chief justice from 1996-1997.
“Beyond the Bean” has a very wide range of potential customers. It is appropriate for any lifestyle. Whether you are young of old, male or female, everyone needs entertainment and social interaction.
In Gertrude Atherton’s Black Oxen, a man named Clavering falls in love with a woman who is not what she appears to be. When Clavering first sees Madame Zattiany, he views her as an object. He refers to her as “it” rather than “she” when he describes her at the beginning of the book. He states that, “in spite of its smooth white skin and rounded contours above an undamaged throat, it was, subtly, not a young face” (Atherton, page 45). Atherton is using Clavering as a vehicle to argue that men tend to see women as objects. It is easier to defend injustice if one can dehumanize the opposing side. It seems as if he is taking stock of her features, as if she were a cow being sold at a market, Clavering is observing her in the hopes of later devouring her. Clavering sees her and knows she is different because she draws attention to herself, she doesn’t just sit in silence. She simply isn’t behaving as Clavering believes a woman should. There is an uncertainty that comes when Clavering sees Mary disregarding the manners of the time. Then he observes her in great detail. His inspection reveals just how superficial Clavering is. He examines her so thoroughly, as if she was a prized mare at auction: “ her forehead was perhaps too high, but it was full, and thick hair was brushed back from a sharp point. Her eyebrows, thank Heaven, were many shades darker than her hair” (Atherton, pages 44-45). It is through these observations that Atherton emphasizes men’s obsession with the
