Black Holes: A Short Story

“I feel terrible for you; you must be devastated. But do you think it’s wise to return home now? Forgive me for saying this, but given the hour, I assume the deed has already been done. To walk in on them and have that vision in your mind forever would be far worse.”

"I can 't know I cant get out. How am I [sigh] expected to get out?".

But he told me he has “to pack up and last words” he said to me was. “ I will see you on the other end.” and that really spoke to me.

“I have no idea.” He screams as he’s losing blood at an alarming rate. I take my coat and tie it around his chest to stop the bleeding and we keep running.

“No, no, no, don’t go, don’t go. You’re staying right here!’’ Theta muttered quickly. His father jumped, but not as much as Theta did, when they heard a random feminine voice behind them.

“She s-says to leave.” Ezra choked out. “She says to leave now and she won’t diverge our secrets. She says to go now, or she’ll… she’ll…” Ezra had tears in his eyes. “Or she’ll kill us.”

There was an eerie silence for a minute or so. I didn’t respond. I couldn’t. I couldn’t process what was happening. I just stared at her. A faint white blur in the distance growing smaller. I wanted to go to her. To protect her like I promised I would do, but I could only float away. I couldn’t bring myself to look back at her so instead I turned to look at the fading wreck that had once been our ship.
