There are many people to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet, but no one really knows who the true person to blame is. Almost every single character in this story could’ve done something that would have prevented the death of Romeo and Juliet. In the romantic story of, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, two young kids from the city of Verona, Italy fall in love. Although they are in love with each other, the rivalry between their two families keeps them from being with each other. Romeo is of the Montague family, and Juliet is of the Capulet family. The Montagues and the Capulets have been rivals for many years, therefore a Montague (Romeo) and a Capulet (Juliet) could not be together, eventually causing Romeo and Juliet …show more content…

A reason people may think this is because Friar Lawrence was unable to send the letter to Romeo in Mantua about how Juliet wasn’t actually dead. Well actually, if the Montagues and Capulets were at peace to start the story, Juliet would’ve never had to fake her death to be with Romeo. Therefore, Friar Lawrence is not to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because Friar Lawrence would’ve never been in that position if it were not for the hatred between the Montague family and the Capulet family. Romeo drank the deadly poison just before Juliet arose from her fake death. If Romeo would have been more patient, Juliet would have awakened. Also, Romeo killing himself caused Juliet to kill herself as well. Juliet would have never killed herself if Romeo would not have killed himself. In addition, Romeo is to blame because he killed Tybalt, which got him kicked out of Verona. If he would not have killed Tybalt, he would have been able to stay in Verona, and he would have known that Juliet was not actually dead. Therefore, Romeo is to blame for the death upon himself and his wife,
