As you may know, Breakthrough supports the development of exceptional students and teachers. These combined factors greatly undermine the social, economic, and political potential of minorities in America. I am developing myself professionally and through academic studies to develop comprehensive plans addressing school improvements, enforcing civil rights, and equitable access to resources and higher education for all people. Through HGSE I will expand my network of professionals that understand the achievement gaps and collaborate to not only ask the daring questions but be agents of change. I plan to become a leader whose future work is never displaced from the community I serve. After graduation my true desire lies to straddle both the hands-on forefront of the classroom and the transformative policy and administrative lens. My ideal position enables me to only to hear the voices and see the needs of the community I impact but also take the theories into practice to ensure that all students are prepared for a 21st century global society. Though my role is multifaceted; from a role model, artist, and educator, being a leader that demonstrates a commitment to equity and excellence comes

Some of the goals of schooling and society in the United States are to develop students and citizens, who have high aspirations, believe in their capabilities, are hopeful they can realize their aspirations, and are optimistic about their future in general. Such characteristics are important because each leads to overall well-being (Bandura, 1977; Scheirer & Carver, 1985; Snyder et al., 1991), student achievement and higher graduation rates (Snyder et al., 2002) through a personal sense of urgency which allows them to take control of their life, challenge themselves, persevere through difficulties, and cope when obstacles arise (McBride, 2012).
While interning at Arcos communication, I was lucky enough to support the efforts of Betances health center, as the organization announced and executed the opening of its new location in Bushwick. As part of the media materials for the event, I drafted a media advisory, a press release, a fact sheet, an Op-Ed and designed the first draft of a brochure for a campaign to be promoted at the opening

After listening to Mr. Whitney, I was nervous about my professional future, considering I work in healthcare. However, after I got home and actually thought about what he said, I realize that the changes in healthcare are leading the shift towards disruptive innovation. However, disruption is necessary to get the necessary changes and improvement our healthcare system so desperately needs (M. Whitney, personal communication, May 21, 2016).
It consists of five briefings: Four provide insights into critical strategic development, and one provides an update on the state of the overall strategy. All are connected by a commitment to put their members, consumers, customers, and communities at the forefront of everything they do (Kaiser Permanente, personal communication, February 2015). Focusing on these five strategies will fulfill the mission during the next 10 years and demonstrates what will be
Today was a successful and busy day in Adams County.Foot traffic came in small groups and pauses; enabling us to keep the conversations steady throughout the day. A majority of community members who stayed to hear the message were happy in regards to the efforts. Folks became very interested about upcoming information LiveWell Colorado plan to deliver. Along with curious thoughts to see how childhood obesity is fought. It was enjoyable being able to see the reaction of many families knowing PE was not offered on a daily, or hardships areas encounter when it comes to improving our unhealthy trends. The crew received delightful feedback from many of our educators and older supports who were stopped and approached about No More 24. Overall, we
Most scientist do not believe that animals are indispensable, and their argument for which is that many medical breakthroughs were established based on animal testing. An example of a medical breakthrough are the therapies used for the controlling of AIDS, established by injecting animals with the virus, and using their post-mortem organs to identify the exact cause of the virus. Most surgical techniques were also first perfected on animals, such as hip replacement and blood transfusions which save millions of lives every day. Smallpox, once an extremely deadly virus, was eradicated from our planet by the rise of vaccines discovered by animal testing. Not only do scientists argue that the evolvement of vaccines were aided by animals, but they
The future will always be unclear, and history will always be apart of lives. The world will never know what the future will bring, and if history will be made or will repeat itself. America has been through a lot of experiences and situations that may not have always turned out for the good, but Americans should be optimistic of the future. In 2016 alone, America and other countries made huge breakthroughs for the future. There has been breakthroughs in new ways of curing Alzheimer's and Cancer.
