INTRODUCTION British Airways is one of the largest airlines in the United Kingdom. It is one of the largest in terms of fleet size and also the airlines they have. The main place from where they do their business is London where they participate from Heathrow, Gatwick and London city airports. British Airways competitive advantage is based on the following points:
•The highest standards of service with a focus on service personalization.
•The variety of choice is another important aspect of British Airways competitive advantage. For example, in the World Traveller cabin, customers can choose from a wide range of Taste of Far East, ‘gourmet Dining’, ‘Taste of Britain’, ‘Great British Breakfast’, ‘Healthy Choice’ and ‘Vegetarian kitchen’.
•Focus on Digitalization and increasing integration of information technology into various aspects of service provision and business processes.

In an interview Adam Carson, BA CityFlyer’s managing director had said that they started just as a business but then they listened to their customers and expanded their business. The key to their success is by satisfying their customers and expanding on their choice of destination. They have also added more airports for more flights to take off and for customers to travel easily. (2017, NA).

Via its own operations and those of its alliance partners, British Airways serves 95 million passengers a year using 441 airports in 86 countries and more than 1,000 planes.

British Airways came into existence since civil aviation began shortly after World War I. A lot has changed in the 90 years from the world's first schedule air service on 25 August 1919 to the present day civil air travel. Every 10 years since civil aviation began. The world has seen changes in the types of planes that have been in service to the speed of sound air travel as well as developments and changes to the business in all aspects of all areas. British Airline PLC (BA) is the largest international airline that operates out of the Heathrow airport in London. The company recently merged Iberia which was initially proposed in 2009 and was approved by the European Commission in 2010. A new organization was created known as International Airlines Group (IAG) which is the world's third largest airline in regards to total revenue as well as the second largest airline group in Europe. British Airways was the creator of the Oneworld airline alliance in which it has formed a strategic partnership with other industry players such as American Airlines in the U.S. and Qantas Airlines in Australia. Given the size and breadth of the company, a stakeholder analysis must cover a lot of ground. This analysis will look at the different groups of stakeholders that are concerned with the performance of this organization.

In this essay, it will be discuss, how two successful businesses: British Airways and Ryanair compete and survive in the airline industry according to strategic operations performance. British Airways was established on 31st March 1974 and is now among the largest airlines compared to Ryanair, which is, an international airline based in Ireland. It is known as the low cost airlines and was set up in 1985 by the Ryanair family.

One of the major factors in airline marketing is that all airlines perform the same task; they take passengers from point A to point B. British Airways global CEO Willie Walsh finds India to be one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world. Walsh, who was in Mumbai on September 3rd, 2010 to announce a code-share agreement with Kingfisher Airlines, says that despite the airline facing mounting competition from other international carriers operating in India, he is not worried as India has huge growth potential
