Certain I want to work with neurologically impaired children with a training in pediatric neurology targeting cognitive, behavioral developmental disorders, my residency interests are to concentrate on pediatric developmental difficulties and neurological maladies created by innumerable unknowns: a long underserved, complex arena with multiple intersecting facets.
My residency intent is to become a proficient researcher, an adeptly intuitive clinician, and future educator focused on creating new, definitive, practical treatment guides for newly discovered and current neurological challenges so treatment teams can uniformly achieve health and life goals for children as well as their families.
Initially, psychiatry gained appeal when Bowdoin College’s Counseling Center experts successfully dealt with my fallout from Father’s death after a decade fighting multiple myeloma alone, simultaneous to leaving Mother destitute with our home’s foreclosure. Dealing with my youth to that moment, along with extracurricular and work experiences, led to delaying medical school to teach students with learning difficulties arrays to pinpoint my focus.

Frightened by her new disabilities, establishing trust enabled a thorough neurological exam. The ramifications of her lesion’s location became tantamount to her overcoming it someday. Confirmed as 1 of 144 American 2016 rare cases of Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM), a rare diagnosis inexplicably altered her future. Headed by pediatric neurology, a multidisciplinary team of critical care, neuroradiology, infectious disease, physiatry, and therapists were necessary for her
I am interested in pursuing the esteem four year MD program at NOSM as it provides students a unique opportunity to gain medical experience at community-engaged institution. I would have the opportunity to learn medicine under the guidance of a well-respected faculty and be a part of a diverse, multicultural medical institution with a common goal of positively imparting healthcare to the North community through innovation and research
The mission of the Neuroscience Service Line is “to provide excellent comprehensive and innovative patient care and access for all Neurological and Spinal Disorders.” The Vision is “to be the premier Neuroscience Center in the Southeast and nation leader in innovative Neurological and Neurosurgical care with global recognition and timely access.” The NSICU offers innovative, comprehensive care for patients with neurological disorders while advancing treatment and mechanisms of neurological diseases, disorders, and injuries of the brain and spinal cord. An integrative approach is used that combines multiple clinical disciplines and extensive research to provide the best possible, evidence-based, health care. Tim Porter-O’Grady mentions, "not only must we close the door on the old models of health delivery and clinical work, but they must turn around and face the future, viewing the entire landscape to develop a workable vision", (Porter-O’Grady & Malloch, 2015, p. 11) this concept is evident at
Despite my dissertation research and previous research experiences, being more wet bench training. The exposure brings uniqueness to my scientific journey as educational neuroscientist. I have been prepared to be self-sufficient, innovative and highly inquisitive individual. My research have trained me in behavioral studies and experimental design. Through my dissertation studies, I gained a profound love for cognitive neuroscience. I sought out opportunities that has allow me to become engrossed in the field such as attending annual cognitive neuroscience conferences, volunteering for Jumpstart, completing CDA training courses and becoming a graduate reviewer for Society for Research in Child Development. My long-term career goal is to become an academic professor on the tenure track at undergraduate or graduate institution. Based on my interests, I would like to teach introduction to neuroscience, developmental neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience or child development courses. In addition, I intend to establish learning development centers for birth through pre-K ages that implement brain-based learning paradigms. The centers will serve as a longitudinal study, the children will be followed from birth through kindergarten
Prior to high school, my uncle was my chemistry teacher. As a food scientist, he was to me a great inventor who knew everything about the magic of taste, texture, and aroma; I still remember his lecture on “good” chocolate and how cocoa butter—solid at room temperature—melts readily in our mouths. Raised on an early appreciation for the power of applied science, I am now driven toward chemical science by a desire to uncover solutions to challenges in the modern world.
As you view my resume you will see that I possess a combination of education, training, and hands on experience that will be a great asset to your company. I have been working with children and their families for the past twenty seven years. I have worked in both fields of regular and special education. I have worked with children between the ages of infants to the age of twenty three years of age. I started working with children as a tutor when I was in high school. Then, when I had my last child in kindergarten I started working as a bilingual instructional assistant for Downey Unified School District. Within the same school district I was promoted to Senior Instructional Assistant Behavior Challenge. My responsibilities in this capacity were to assist Early Intervention
My interest in the human brain really began my junior year of high school when I took AP Psychology. I could not get enough of learning about how and why we function on a day to day basis, which can be looked at from multiple perspectives including from a biological angle. It amazed me then, and still amazes me today, that a complex network of neurons which fire electrochemical signals is the basis of every action we do on a day to day basis. This idea sparked my passion for learning more about the nervous system and how it functions, and is an interest which remains with me to this day. This same year of high school I also fell in love with Chemistry and Anatomy/Physiology, both of which applied in some capacity to AP Psychology as well. Ultimately
As an individual, due to my upbringing and experiences, I act in such a way that my future will be more desirable instead of focusing on how I can act to receive instant gratification. Some of these actions include pushing myself to take classes which demand more dedication, keeping my grades up, and taking upon myself leader-like responsibilities. I feel that one can conclude another’s moral growth through their actions, thus how one will judge me is heavily determined by my past actions. There is a multitude of influences in my life, however, the appeal of my imminent adulthood is more persuasive to keep working on my character.
I am delighted to present my resume for consideration to West Hempstead Union Free School District for a position as an Elementary School teacher. I am a graduate from Adelphi Universities Education program. I received my Bachelors in Psychology and my Masters in Education and Special Education (1-6).
I have always been a firm believer in self-exploration and diversification. Though I started my medical career in Pakistan, I moved to US to learn and experience the medical distinction. I started appreciating the value of evidence-based medicine and best practice guidelines in the western medicine. I always desired to be a critical care physician. I got chance to learn and experience Neurocritical Care for the first time at UNM. This experience facilitated my special interest in Neuroscience. Recently, I completed my basic training in Neurology and am one step closer to my fundamental goal of getting the best available training in Neurocritical
The BTI internship superimposes my greatest interests: as a student of biochemistry, an impassioned environmentalist and humanist, and a prospective MD/PhD candidate, the part about advancing and communicating scientific knowledge in plant biology to enhance human health within BTI’s mission statement really resonates with me.
After years of visiting and volunteering in the hospital, I grew a string affinity towards the hospital dynamic and the healthcare fields. Because of my extensive study of the biological sciences, I found a great interest in the field of neuroscience especially in relation to children. After matriculation through Spelman College, I hope to enter a MD/PhD program and ultimately become a pediatric neurosurgeon who conducts research on neurodegenerative disease in adolescents. While studying at Stanford, I would able to further fuel my interest in the field of neuroscience. Facilities like the Nueroclinics and the neuroscience institute offer a very focused avenue for academic exploration.
Joining my school’s Associated Student Body (ASB) has allowed me to improve the environment and atmosphere at school while also giving myself a greater voice. As the recent class secretary and future class president, I am committed to enhancing the experiences of my peers in high school. In a school that is vastly underfunded and with many students living in poverty, it becomes hard for students to become spirited and support our fundraisers because of the mediocre quality of our school as well as simply being unable to afford things. My class and I are dedicated to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to make the most of their high school experience, regardless of their background. From selling frozen goods to reduce prom charges
I am applying to the DIS Stockholm study abroad program because of its focus on hands-on learning, on active engagement with the community, and on Forensic Psychology; opportunities that will provide me with a strong foundation for my future career. My professional interests lie in both laboratory research and clinical healthcare and so in the future, I hope to attend graduate school and to become a clinical psychologist.
I am interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree to develop a solid understanding of the human body, health, and fitness, as well as to set myself up in a position in which I could go on to pursue a career involving these areas of interest. I have always been interested in finding out how the body works and how to apply this information to benefit people’s lives. From a young age I have enjoyed participated in physical activities such as gymnastics, hiking, and horseback riding. These experiences helped me gain an appreciation for the human body and an interest in really understanding how it works. My love for animals has also inspired me to learn more about how their bodies differ from humans.
In this season of my life, I find myself residing in the most opportune time to reflect on my managerial competencies, as my surrounding environment in which I now lead and manage, has taken a dramatic shift. The eight roles identified by the Competing Values Framework that are essential for effective management, do not make the smoothest transition from a multi until store manager in a retail environment, to a Director of Children’s Ministry in a religious institution. The competencies in which I excelled in Corporate America, I find are not the strengths I need to tap into to find success in my new role. Therefore, in order to achieve the vision of what comparable success is in my new role, I need to build on my competencies that display weakness in regards to the Competing Values Framework that will be the defining factor of my success or failure.
