Evaluation: Caboolture West. There are two proposals for this area. The first proposal was presented to us by Sunshine Property Developers. They propose to fit the area for 20,000 people. Low to medium level housing, making roads bigger to fit more cars, adding buses to encourage public transport, larger park spaces and personal backyards, 15 small local shops and parkways and bikeways are all listed as important parts of the proposal. No extra facilities will be needed, current ones will be up to date. The second proposal was presented to us by Mc Keown Property Developers. They propose to have high density housing, new trains and station, green corridors and parklands, a town centre with 100 new facilities, a new hospital and school and
On the day of April 19, 1993, at the Mount Carmel Compound in Waco Texas, an inferno of flames broke out after a 51 day siege on the Branch Davidians cult group. A total of 92 lives were lost during the fire, as well as many more during the previous 51 days. Many speculations arose whether the compound being incinerated was set by the FBI in a final attempt to make the Davidians leave the compound, and end the million dollar siege once and for all, or if it was a mass suicide conducted by David Koresh, the leader of the Branch Davidians. Of course, this will always remain a mystery, because almost 100 of the members refused to leave the building, leaving it to be a national tragedy, and unclosed case of who did it.
Many American’s dreamt of opportunity, salvation, and riches by expanding out to the American West. The region we refer to as the “American West” enveloped into the idea of freedom and became a catalyst for the minds of many Americans and immigrants throughout history to venture west. However, Historian John Mack Faragher observes that we often imagine the West as a place where Americans could become fully independent or “self-reliant individuals.” But, by the late nineteenth century, Westerners discovered that they were not self-sufficient and highly dependent on the federal government. The West found itself highly dependent on assistance from the federal government in the regulation of race relations, the management of natural resources,
The “frontier” was an American movement westward beginning in 1807 that was driven by a desire for a land where a fresh start was possible and a space where there was less European control, as well as the thirst for economic growth and creating jobs. Frederick Jackson Turner argued that the frontier shaped American history and largely contributed to the idea of American exceptionalism. Although the motive for the expansion westward can be viewed as positive, the intent to “civilize” the “uncivilized” groups of the west including the Native Americans, however, was far from moral or just. The frontier was a means of enlarging the economy by creating new communities and an American historical landmark because of the amount of American citizens migrating westward with hopes of new opportunities, however, the frontier also brought unethical treatment of native western groups.
Railroads have changed the west in many ways including transporting goods such as people, grain, cattle, ore and equipment back and forth across the states at faster speeds than normal, But the railroads have also changed the west in bad ways as well such as Deforming the land, Destroying the bison’s natural habitat and speaking of the bison the railroads have transported sport hunters and they killed a lot of bison. By the end of the civil war there were as many as 20 million bison west of the Mississippi now after their trek only about 1 thousand remained. So to close this up the Railroads have both changed the country in good ways and bad, but was it more good or more bad?
In the 19th century the U.S grew in size and power. After the Louisiana Purchase from France, which doubled the size of the country also opened up a bit better-known region to exploration and ultimate settlement. Soon, explorers were getting back from forays into the geographic region with stories of nice stretches of beauty and fertile land. That helped and encouraged the government and the people to move west and acquire more lands. Although the Western Expansion had a great effect on the Western Frontier which helped in forming railroads and helped the economy, but it had a huge effect on the Native People as they lost their lands and many died people
The Westward Expansion is normally regarded as the main subject of American history as well as the main factor in the building of American history.
The long perilous journey of the Oregon Trail stretched across the West and dared anyone brave enough to reach the prize of land at its end. The brutal weather conditions and the rugged terrain proved to be a daunting task for many. Native Americans defended their territories and would attack those who entered. So how did the West Coast ever become a thriving part of the United States? Through the dedication and perseverance of thousands of pioneers, the western territories of the United States would grow and prosper. In honor of the acts of these Americans, a national monument for the pioneers should be created in order to represent their struggle and the impact they made in expanding the United States.
Colorado has a very rich history that often gets overlooked due to other big states that generally take up most of the headlines; however, that does not mean that there has not been big movements and big names to come through the Centennial State. Colorado has had many attractions, such as open land, beautiful landscapes, mining, and the hot springs to name a few. The ladder in that group of attractions brought to Colorado a man that was known in the west, and would forever be remember and one of the most famous gunman, Doc Holliday. Doc Holliday had a short, but eventful life and making his way towards Colorado at the end was what he had hope would save his life.
Various roads and their influence on the west are explored in chapter 9, “The Power of the Road” in The American West: A New Interpretive History by authors Robert V. Hine and John Mack Faragher.
I am thinking of settling on the he frontier (either the Great Plains or the Intermountain West). The Great Plains region includes the states like Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and the Dakotas. Whereas the Intermountain West composed the northern parts of New Mexico and Arizona, parts of eastern California and western regions of Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado, as well as the non-coastal eastern regions of Oregon and Washington and all of Idaho, Utah, and Nevada. The key difficulties I would face living here would are the temperature are raising here where there would be high demand of water and energy which would leads to create problem in development, farmers in agriculture and supply of light
Northwest Canadian Forest Products Limited is a company that owns and operates five saw mills in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. They produce lumber for construction in a few different countries. The President of the company is dealing with a tough situation with one of her mills in Jackson, British Columbia. The mill in Jackson is her least productive mill and she soon has to make a decision that could cost the company a substantial amount of money. She has the choice of either investing 50 million in the weak Jackson mill or to invest more that 50 million in a new mill high demand area. The president has been informed of the many complaints from the managers and supervisors, but nothing seems to be the right solution.
To make clear, the age and gender cardiovascular mortality rates, Bluegrass East has a higher rate than Bluegrass West; to justify this example the direct age and gender adjustment of cardiovascular mortality for Bluegrass East and Bluegrass West. The anticipated quantity of occupants in Bluegrass West remains 1,019,150, with an entire figure of occupants in Bluegrass West and Bluegrass East in the United States remains 280,000,000:1,019,150 / 280,000,000 = .00364 x 100,000 = 364 per every 100,000 occupants. The foreseeable number of occupants in Bluegrass East is 1,017,650 the compute number of inhabitants in Bluegrass West and Bluegrass East in the United States remain 280,000,000; the estimation justifies 343 per every 100,000 occupants
How did the interaction between people and the environment shape the physical landscapes of the West in particular?
The definition the work/life balance is changing from silo and integration, and bleisure travel is a part of thisbigger cultural trend. Best Western has to understand the cultural shift in order to successfully capitalize on bleisure trend.
Mr. Lassiter, being the manager of sales and marketing, should have addressed the entire organization of the new system changes. He did not even address the full system conversion to several of his own staff members. Also, Mr. Lassiter anticipated Kovecki had studied the documentation, which he had not. Mr. Lassiter needs to prepare a special meeting with key members of staff
