Throughout my experience with cancer, I have gained a little more knowledge than I had before I was diagnosed with this nasty disease. This paper gives me the chance to explain some of the causes and effects that cancer has on those afflicted with the disease and those who are constantly around them. I am glad to be the one writing this paper. I believe that if people read more papers like this one that there would not be as much tormenting or misunderstanding of what people with cancer actually have to go through. Some of the effects that cancer has are not only on the patient but also on the family and friends that are near and far. There are so many causes and effects of the many types of cancer I can only touch trying to be able to explain them. So I am going to explain what I know about lung, brain, and breast cancer to the best of my ability because most people do not know much about cancer since most have not had the personal experience. Although not all cancers have an exact cause some of them do. According to the people I have known with lung cancer, there are many causes to the diagnosis. A few of the causes include smoking, second-hand smoke, and asbestos. Asbestos is also the cause of another cancer is caused mesothelioma. On the other hand, not all lung cancer is caused by these things. Some are simply caused by inherited gene mutations and are unpreventable. Effects of lung cancer are not good but not everyone experiences the same effects. Some people have
In women, one of the most common cancers of course is breast cancer, in men prostate cancer and in men and women, lung cancer and colon cancer are common cancers. It is important to understand that the cancer that occurs in one individual is very different from the cancer that occurs in another. Everyone is different; a lung tumor in one person will be different from a lung tumor in another person. Once a diagnosis of cancer is made, the next obvious question is what do you do? There are several things that are really relevant, for example, the stage of the cancer which is information about where is the cancer?
Lung cancer takes many years to develop. The characteristics of lung cancer the same as any type of cancer but it effects the lungs. Lung cancer is caused by expose to carcinogens
A common form of cancer that is very popular today is lung cancer. Lung cancer is a very dangerous form that can cause problems in simple body functions. These simple body functions are short breath and general fatigue. Lung cancer is commonly formed from smokers that has been exposed to that activity for numerous years. Lung cancer can also be spread by being exposed to asbestos or other pollutants. This form of cancer has many risk factors to it. These risk factors are high levels of air pollution, arsenic drinking water, and radon gas. Radon gas is a gas that is highly radioactive and is very sensitive to the body. Once radon is exposed to the body, it has a very high respiration rate which initially divide its radioactive cells- causing more significant damage to the body.
Lung Cancer, like any other type of cancer, is the uncontrollable growth of cells in the lung tissue. The main causes that contribute to lung cancer include inhaling carcinogens (basically, smoking), exposure to ionizing radiation, viral infections and even air pollution. These factors basically damage the tissues lining the bronchi in the lung, leading the cancer to develop further (Vaporciyan & Nesbitt JC, 2000). Primary lung cancers that develop in the epithelial tissues of the lung are known as carcinomas and claim the top spot in terms of leading cancer-related death causes. As of 2004, lung cancer
Cancer has one of the biggest effects on the patients mental health but also the patients loved ones and friends. It is one of the hardest things to get a grip on when the doctor tells someone that they have cancer and a fifty-fifty chance of making it. "The disease can bring many changes-in what people do and how they look, in how they feel and what they value" (Dakota 4). It makes people look at the world and their lives in a different way, valuing now what they took for granted and seeing the bigger picture in every scenario. It is something that no one can actually brace, even after the doctor tells them. Through it all though, the person must remain strong and optimistic because the cancer can affect the person's moods and in return affect the outcome of the person and the chances of their making it
Causes: The foremost reason for lung cancer is cigarette smoking which causes around 90% of all deaths caused by lung cancer in the world. However, smoking is not the only way to get it. The second most frequent cause of lung cancer is exposure to radon gas, which
Document A is mainly about how people are getting cancer and it also shows the rate of people that getting cancer and the number of rates that dying from cancer. Document B is mainly about whats causes cancer and things that can cause cancer would be food, drink, habit such as smoking tobacco and basking in the sun Document C. mainly talks about how you can prevent from getting cancer id by making sure proto oncogenes dont turn on by keep a healthy growth. Document D mainly talks about how employees who are accidentally or chronically exposed to carcinogenic agents are at risk of developing cancer Documents E is mainly talking about how when normal cells get turned into cancer some of the protons would change. Document F shows how the immune
No matter what the cause, lung cancer is a very serious thing. Research shows that it takes several mutations for a lung cancer cell to form. However when the lung cancer cell does form, it begins dividing out of control, causing the divisions to have the same error in DNA. As the mutations continue, the lung tissue starts to no longer be able to carry out its function properly. In some cases, the cancer cells will then spread to other parts of the body, therefore spreading the cancer.
The number one factor for getting lung cancer is smoking tobacco. Smoking causes cancers because the tobacco changes our DNA and
Most people know that smoking is one of the main causes of lung cancer. However, there are also other things that increase your cancer risk you are doing everyday. This includes breathing air full of smog to breathing the fumes from a running automobile or any gas powered engine.
The most common cause of lung cancer is smoking cigarettes. 80% of people who have lung cancer got it from smoking. The longer you smoke cigarettes the better chance of getting lung cancer. Smoking at a young age increases the chance of getting lung cancer more then starting to smoke as an adult. The sooner you quit, the better your life will be. Passive smoking (secondhand smoking) can give you lung cancer if exposed for a long time to it.
Lung cancer has been held responsible on many factors but the greatest one is smoking. Smoking is the main cause of lung cancer. A person can get clung cancer by the way they smoke, the more and longer they smoke the changes of getting it is more convince to get lung cancer. Most people who smoke believe that it helps with managing stress and depression but in reality, they don’t really see how much its hurting in side and how slowly it killing their lungs. A lot of
Lung cancer is strongly associated with cigarette smoking, both from the actual smoker and secondhand, although there are cases in which someone that has never smoked or experienced secondhand has had lung cancer. Pipes and cigar smoking are also factors of lung cancer, but the risks are not as high as cigarettes. Another cause known for lung cancer is asbestos fiber. Asbestos fibers are silicate fibers that persevere in lung tissues after exposure to asbestos; which is something that can be picked up in a workplace where thermal and acoustic insulation is used. Smoking cigarettes increases the risk of developing asbestos-related lung cancer in workers.
Lung cancer takes the lives of many at a young age and the cause isn’t always clear as of how this disease was contracted. The most popular idea of what causes lung cancer since early times has been using tobacco. Tobacco contains nicotine which is a highly addictive drug that gives a temporary feeling of relaxation. When people get addicted to nicotine, it becomes incredibly difficult for the victims to stop smoking. According to Brody, Lung cancer has been shown to take the lives of more people compared to any other form of cancer and this is the case since lung cancer is associated with life style. New information regarding lung cancer has shown that about one-fourth of those victims who are diagnosed didn’t obtain it through first hand smoking. People can obtain this illness through an “unlucky” combination of genetics (Brody).
Cancer is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, with approximately 14 million new cases in 2012.2 The amount of new cases is expected to rise by about 70% over the next 2 decades. Cancer which causes nearly 1 in 6 deaths, is the second leading cause of death globally, and was responsible for 8.8 million deaths in 2015. Approximately 70% of deaths from cancer occur in low- and middle-income countries. In 2012 about 14.1 million new cases of cancer occurred globally (not including skin cancer other than melanoma).3 The most common types of cancer in males are lung cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer and stomach cancer.
