Career Goals Research Paper

At the beginning of the last semester at my community college, I had to make a major decision, “Where do I want to go next?” I understand the importance of education that will help reach my professional dream of becoming a Marketing Professional, so I want to choose a distinguished school that can help me reach that dream. After extensive of research, I had decided that I want to go to the University of Maryland. And these are the reasons why I chose to go to the University of Maryland:

The career I chose is a secondary education teacher. More commonly referred to as a highschool teacher. A highschool teacher teaches grades 9th-12th and generally focuses in one subject area. High school teachers help prepare students for life after graduation. They teach academic lessons and various skills that students will need to attend college and to enter the job market (“U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics”). I chose this career because I want to be able to make a difference in young people’s lives and help shape them into good people. “I know that I have a huge impact on my students not just now, but for the rest of their lives,” says Linda Shelly, a high school math teacher in Glendale, arizona. “Seeing them rise to the challenge gives me great pride.” (“Teaching For a Living: Career Outlook”).

I want to be a nurse practitioner when I grow up. A nurse practitioner ,or commonly known as NP, can treat and diagnose illnesses and can also conduct lab tests.(“Welcome to Top Master’s In Healthcare Administration”)

I work part time at a nationally recognized health club where I have the opportunity to not only interact with members everyday but also participate in my own well being by working out on a regular basis. These activities have given me confidence that I am able to lead a workforce and complete a job efficiently and effectively. The passion that I have for marketing and management in the sports arena are enhanced by the program you offer. I fell in love with business while having the opportunity to take an honors finance class my junior year in high school. I received the Achievement Award in Honors Finance which influenced my decision to pursue an undergraduate degree in marketing. Because of my success in high school, I feel prepared for college level business classes. This combination of learning about the highs and lows of business and learning about the sports and fitness industry is what this major is all about; it is what I am all about and has me as a driven, passionate student so excited to be pursing my next journey in life at West Chester

I believe that a Rutgers education will help me achieve my own personal enrichment and career goals, through giving me the best resources possible and by allowing me to take advantage of said resources. Having a Rutgers education will provide me with a variety of tools and opportunities that my previous college could not offer me. Attending a Rutgers school will not only open new doors for me but also introduce me to a vast pool filled with knowledge and life changing experiences that will surely be imperative to my growth as an individual. With a Rutgers education, I will be able to make my own mark in society.

I choose to attend Bryant University because I knew of their strong focus on business majors and their strong networking reach with potential employers for their students. Currently, I am pursuing a major in management and a minor in psychology, with the possibility of either adding another minor or changing my psychology minor into a major. I have chosen this path because in coincides with my interests with life. I enjoy working with people and showing my leadership skills. I have proven this through work with various groups in my classes, leading my teams through various assignments and projects. I also shows these skills through running my own landscaping business. I employ some of my friends that are out there helping every day during the summer. I enjoy managing different jobs that my employees and I do.

I have been working on my academic career for many years now. I am currently in my third year of community college, and have come across multiple teachers who have helped and inspired me in many ways. A teacher not only teaches the content of their course, but life skills as well. They are kind, caring, considerate, and understanding of their students. A teacher who goes above and beyond for their students is one that will make a difference. One teacher who I believe has made all the difference to me, was my accounting professor.

When I go off to college I plan to go to a college that fits me. College is important for anyone’s career, and I want to be successful. That is why the university I attend has to feel right, and inspire me to succeed. Washington University in St. Louis does that for me. WashU makes me challenge myself, and ensures me that it is the perfect place to go. Some of the university’s great qualities include their majors, the location, and the community.

Clemson University has always been special because of the opportunities it has given to me and my family. Giving my father and uncle to play on the football team that went on to win a national championship, as well as a college education makes me feel thankful because without a full scholarship, they would not afford college. Being named after the mascot, my connection to the university was apparent at birth. Clemson has given members of my family opportunities and I feel like Clemson can give me opportunities as well. While I do not know what my future holds or how I will spend the bulk of my adult life, I know that only education will give me the opportunity to detect my interests and enrich my soul.
