I teach in the Westside Consolidated Number Five School District in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The school district is a consolidation of three small rural town school districts Bono, Egypt, and Cash, Arkansas in 1968. I met with my mentor Mr. Scott Gaunt the school district superintendent on January 18, 2017 between meetings with district leaders and countywide superintendents. We met and discussed the community relations plan and identified the two most important issues for our district as identified in the poll by the Phi Delta Kappan and the Gallop poll. The issues were the lack of financial support for the school district to provide an adequate education for students and the testing and regulations imposed on school districts that lower educational time for students while in school.
Leaguetown Independent School District is currently facing a conflict of whether having later start times would perhaps help the improvement of academic performance of Leaguetown Middle School and high school students. Superintendent Judith Owens has proposed a new schedule that would set later start times. A group of Leaguetown Middle School parents has organized to oppose the proposal.
I attended the Centennial Christian School to visit one of the student, Ashley, who is diagnosed with cerebral palsy. It was interesting to see Ashley’s care plan that was written by Chris Robberts that outlines care of her stoma, flushing of water every hour at school via feeding tube, administering mediation via feeding, and what to do when the student has a ‘blank stare’ or grand mal seizure.
The participants selected for this study will consist of both male and females 18 years or older. Specific ethic background is not a criterion in participant selection, therefore will not play a role in participant recruitment. Only individuals who have worked in or with the informal class reassignment program at Carmack Elementary will be selected to participate in this study. Carmack Elementary is a public elementary school, which is part of the San Bernardino City Unified School District. The San Bernardino City Unified School District is identified as a large public school district and is located within Southern California. Participants selected for this study will consist of special education teachers and special education school personnel.

On Wednesday, April 12, 2017, I, Officer McDaniel #147, while at James Coble Middle School, located at 1200 Ballweg Rd, Arlington, TX, I was approached by Assistant Principal Myers, Laura, W/F, DOB 02/16/1968, in reference to a cell phone screen that was broke by another student.
The reporting party (RP) stated that resident Humberto Reis DOB: 3/23/01 DOP: 12/23/15 SCHOOL: Redlands High School disclosed while a staff member's cousin (name unknown) was visiting the staff member the cousin provided the resident with the drug "ecstasy." According to the RP the resident informed the owner of the facility named Sara who informed the resident not to report the incident to his social worker or anyone. He was informed to report everything to her. The resident was left alone on a bad side of town. The resident fearing for his safety contacted the local police department who informed the resident that he should not be alone in that area of the city. Saginaw Public School District, located in Saginaw Michigan is the urban school district of Saginaw, Michigan. The district has approximately 7,500 students and operates 15 schools which include, 10 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 3 high schools. Over the past 10 years there has been a drastic decrease in student enrollment. The main cause of the decrease in enrollment include Michigan’s failing economy. The closing of automobile factories has resulted in a huge decrease in the city of Saginaw’s populations. During the past 10 years there has also been closing of many schools in the Saginaw Public School District. The district is also operating in a deficit and has been required by the state of Michigan to decide a plan to eliminate
The case I chose was one that took place in Houston, TX, in the Houston Independent School District. I chose it because Houston is where I was born and grew up, and I wanted to use a case that felt close to home for me. This case was about a student who, throughout the course of about two years, displayed several signs of aggression, defiance, and general misbehavior both in class and at home. The misbehaviors ranged from “pestering and irritating” his/her siblings at home, throwing tantrums, and becoming easily upset or angered. The student also led a lonely life, both in class and school, expressing dislike and resentment towards siblings and other family members, as well as stating that student “feels student has no friends.” In class, the
Samuel was last enrolled this past school year full-time in the New Directions School at S.H. Clarke Academy. He was in the General Educational Development (GED) program. Prior to attending New Directions School, he attended Churchland High School as a 10th grader. He had numerous suspensions while at Churchland High School and was placed at New Directions as a result of continued behavioral issues.
I strongly disagree with the decision of my school board, Dickenson County School Board, for making the decision to extend the school day an hour and a half. I believe that this decision will not help the students or staff who are affected by this decision. Extending the school day is a horrible decision because we go to school long enough as it is, also students and staff cannot do the activities after school that they enjoy. Lastly, addition to more time at school will cause students to stress more than they already do. I believe the school board should listen to the people who will be affected by this decision before a massive mistake is made.
Gulf Shores Middle School- On October, 22, 2015, the eighth grade students were taken, as a field trip, to Playhouse in the Park, to go and watch plays of Edgar Allan Poe poems for the mystery and suspense unit. The students were taken to see The Tell-Tale Heart, Ligeia, The System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether, The Cask of Amontillado performed by the kind people at Playhouse at the Park. They did this because they’re in the mystery and suspense unit, and they have been reading Edgar Allan Poe works, such as The Tell-Tell Heart. After the plays the students were expected to create think and answer questions about what differences were in the plays, and the original pieces of writing.
Initially, St. Timothy Parish was designated a parish in 1969, by the Bishop of Richmond, John J. Russell. Simultaneously, Fr. Robert E. Nudd was appointed the first pastor. He served until 1978, when Fr. R. Roy Cosby succeeded him as pastor of St. Timothy Church. Thereafter, Fr. Cosby had a vision to build a school and make a Catholic education available for the children of the parish. Subsequently, in 1980, construction began on the Fr. Nudd Hall. It consisted of eight classrooms, three offices, storage, a gym/social hall, and a professional kitchen. At the outset, Mrs. Valatka was named principal, and interestingly, she was in the unique position of being the first lay principal in the diocese. The building was completed in 1981, and

Gateway Community College Central City Campus (former Maricopa Skill center) targets “at-risk”, low-income students, such as school dropouts, students just out of correction facilities, Hispanic students and more. That’s why the campus has the Essential skills trainings Department and the testing center. They do all kinds of testing from GED to Accuplacer and various professional testing. A lot of different resources are available for students to pass a basic assessment tests in English and Math. Not to mention that all the programs the campus offers are entry-level, trade skill programs that require no or minimum prerequisites. Mr. Diaz is currently the assistant principal at John C. Fremont High School located 7676 S San Pedro St, Los Angeles, CA 90003. However, before becoming an assistant principal, Mr. Diaz was a guidance counselor also at Fremont High School. When asked about the high crime rate and heavy gang presence in the Florence-Firestone area, Mr. Diaz stated that the lack of positive role models and the needed guidance is to blame for heavily gang involvement in this area. Many of these young teens lack the necessary confidence in them to avoid peer pressure to get the best out of them.
