Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated is the prime example of what every woman should strive for. Their core values as an organization to service the community and promote positive developments to better enhance those around them, is profoundly admirable. It would be an honor to be a member of such an outstanding organization. Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated always stood out to me, everything that they stand for is what every woman should stand for. The importance of public services and helping others, which they hold as a key element of their organization, is such a vital quality to have as an organization that seeks the betterment of the world around them. On a personal level, I know what its like to need help, and wanting to get help from those
“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life…” is a quote that seems to describe my present feelings. My interest that I have in joining the Sigma Psi Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is not a decision I make on the whim. This lifelong commitment is a step I make with confidence and determination. In the past year and a half, I have been exposed and admired these exemplary college educated women who have dedicated themselves to be of service to the community, the empowerment of others and themselves, and to leadership. The members of this sorority hold themselves to a high standard and forged these strong bonds of sisterhood with each other that have been influential in me making
As a young woman who strives to make a difference both locally and globally, I know that membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will aid in accomplishing my life long goals. The emphasis this organization places on assisting and supporting others through the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, is truly a reflection of the public service initiatives that I make an effort to take part in. The opportunity to form a lifelong bond with other college educated women, who share some of the same morals and beliefs as I do, is phenomenal. I know that membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will mean taking that initiative to become a part of something that’s bigger than myself, because I certainly can’t take on the world alone. The incredible
In order to get information for my paper, I interviewed someone with a position of authority within Tri Delta. Her name is Danielle, and she is the new member educator. The first thing I learned about Tri Delta is that it is more than just letters on a shirt, songs and chants, a gold pin, socials, rituals, an obligation, or a way of life. “Being in a sorority is about learning about people and being able to give without expecting a return. Tri Delta has allowed me to find lifelong friends and find confidence in myself as well as in my sisters,” Danielle explained. After hearing her explanation, I couldn’t agree more. Danielle also told me that the close relationships are her favorite part. “My favorite part about being in Tri Delta is the sisterhood.

Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated purpose is to be of service to all mankind dealing with critical issues in communities domestically and internationally. What I have grown to understand an envision a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated to be, I accredit largely to the ladies of the Gamma Theta chapter. This has the result of attending many of the chapter’s events during my time at Hampton thus far. One of my favorite events was a screening of a documentary Girls Rising. I learned to appreciate every opportunity to learn and gain knowledge because in some parts of the world girls are restricted from receiving an education. A
As a member of Phi Theta Epsilon, I will continue to pursue my occupational therapy degree in the presence of other highly motivated students that share the same values and the same desire to contribute to the continued growth and promotion of our profession. I will continue to seek the knowledge and experience necessary for me to become the best occupational therapist that I can be for my future clients with the support of Phi Theta Epsilon. I will demonstrate continued academic excellence and professionalism through my role in positively representing occupational therapy at Alvernia. I am excited for the opportunity to represent occupational therapy not only here at Alvernia, but also within the larger community as well.
Specifically taking the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority into account in present day. It is quite evident that the purpose and message from the earlier founders of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority still live on today. I interviewed Kayse Cuevas, a twenty-one-year-old senior at Oklahoma State University. She is a current and active member in the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. I asked Cuevas if she had any family members that were Deltas and she confirmed that she in fact did. Cuevas has a cousin that’s a Delta and her grandmother’s best friend is also a Delta. When asked what motivated her to become a Delta her response was inspiring. Cuevas said that her grandmother’s best friend is nearing her eightieth year of life and is still extremely active within the organization with helping in the community

Being in a sorority is very rewarding yet can be very time consuming. Each member that is part of a sorority has a huge role to play even if you do not hold a position within the organization. Alpha Sigma Alpha is a national sorority who is heavily involved with community service and their three national philanthropies, St. June Smith, Special Olympics, and Girls on the Run, as well as local philanthropy year after year. This source is located on Alpha Sigma Alpha’s national website that is dedicated towards the sorority’s service and giving. In this section their philanthropic statement states, “Life is not taking in only; it is giving out too. It is giving ourselves - freely - to other people, giving ourselves in comradeship, in understanding,

I participate in service activities within my sorority Beta Sigma Phi, which is a non-academic sorority. Beta Sigma Phi was founded for the social, cultural, and civic enrichment of its members. Our motto is Life, Learning and Friendship. We perform service projects locally to help those in need. A few of our undertakings have included, Rochester’s Alternatives for Battered Women (The Willow Center), the Parma Food Pantry and the STAR program for Hope Ministries. I also participate in creating the cultural programs, which are important to the sorority. The programs are not only a basic element to broaden my knowledge and understanding of my personal growth, but they also contribute to the growth of my sorority sisters. As a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi, I firmly believe it is in our nature not only to give the best that is in us but also to give the best that is in us to our

Southeastern university is a Christian traditional school. Southeastern university is a place where students come to improve their faith by God, also to succeed in life. Southeastern university is a great place to find the right way to overcome obstacles, and to reach goals. Talking about the NCAA and sports; Southeastern University is not ready to go D2. We need more and better facilities. SEU needs to expand his facilities, buildings, parking lot, and find more space where the location can grow and get bigger.
One of the main objectives I set for myself when I decided to further my education and attend a 4-year institution was not only to achieve academically but make a positive impact on campus and in the community. When the opportunity arose to join a Latino Greek organization, my curiosity led me to pursue and learn about the core values and mission the prestigious and elite Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity Incorporated exemplified. Once I was informed about LUL my interest became a lot stronger. What made my interest convert to a desire, was observing the Brothers of LUL interact with one another at the Smoker that was held at UNC Chapel hill. My desire to be a part of LUL not only a part of an Hermandad but an organization that seeks to make
