What was the cause of World War II? What were some of the ways that the Jews were treated during this time? What created the participation of the United States in the war? How where the Americans and the rest of the world affected by the war? World War II was the second largest war in the entire history of world. The war consisted of two sides, the Axis Powers, which included Germany, Japan, and Italy. The other side, the Allies, consisting of the United States of America, France, Britain, Australia, Canada, and the Soviet Union.

That all change when Japan launched a surprise attack in the Pacific onto military installations on December 7, 1941. The most known attack happened at the Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii. This attack was the most devastating and lasted for about two hours long. Eight-teen war ships were sunk or damaged and about one-hundred and sixty planes destroyed. That day hundreds of soldiers lost their lives. The strength of America is shown in this statement by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, " No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory. " This wage of war made the Americans so mad as there was no reason what so ever to attack the United States. On December 8th , the very next day after the bombing, Roosevelt asked to declare war upon Japan. Thus entering the U. S. into World War II. A few days later Japan allied with Italy and Germany. The Americans new long before the war that it was going to change the country. Before the war the United States was not interested in inventing and creating new and improved weapons. After the war they were mass produced. The McDonalds brothers invented that fast-food assembly line because people during the war wanted their food so fast they could not keep up with serving them. Scientists discovered new medicine that helped heal the wounds and blood poisoning from the war. The United States became a global dominance and helped to create the United Nations. The United Nations is made up of about 26 nations and was formed to help create a sort of connectedness between countries. The counties that made up the United Nations had to take an oath that stated that they would help fight the Axis powers as long as there was a conflict between them and their allies. The United Nations main goal is to promote global peace and believes in protecting human rights in every country. They also help counties that have been devastated by war by providing food, basic supplies and water
